Carimiev Bjartcelöbra
Other name: Carimiev the wise
Race: Eldunari (dragon)
Side: Varden (soon to be Empire)
Age: 963 years
Gender: Male
Birthplace: Ilirea (now Uru'baen)
Rider: Lliucion Dramgar (Deceased)
Appearance: Carimiev was once a grand emerald green dragon. He was massive and terrifying to many. His eyes were of a light green like a summer oak leaf with the sun shinning through it. He was built for flying more than fighting. He was lean and his muscles for flight seemed to never tire. Carimiev preferred peace and found little need to fight, usually his presence was enough to stop any fighting. His fire was green but rarely seen. Fire was destructive and unless he had to he wouldn't use it.
For about a century and a quarter he has resided in his Eldunari. The Eldunari looks like a round flat gem made of emerald, but at closer inspection the colors seem to shift and change depending on Carimiev's mood.
Personality: Carimiev is often called the wise one by those who know him. He is very thoughtful and doesn't jump into anything without contemplating all the sides, consequences and alternatives. As a result most of the time he is correct when he chooses to act. This can sometimes annoy others as he takes so long to give answers.
He doesn't speak often and instead observes. Some may call this behavior shy, but Carimiev is far from shy. In his long years he has often found you learn more by saying little and listening more.
He is usually very calm. But when he is passionate about something he can be rather bossy and demanding. This comes from his sense of pride. If something catches his attention then he figures others should too. After all he is very wise, old and a dragon.
When he gets enraged he is a fierce foe who won't back down. He prides himself on his skills and knowledge and to lose to an opponent, in either a friendly or unfriendly match, isn't something he is pleased with. So he gives his all in a fight and never backs down.
He is much the same as he was when his rider died. The only difference is the underlying grief that encompasses his every thought and action. And through that grief he longs to complete his and his rider's last hope, to help the resistance defeat Galbatorix.
---Likes: himself, knowledge, clear sunny days
---Dislikes: the empire, any who beat him in a fight, being underground
---Strengths: knowledge, wisdom
---Weakness: his grief, kindness
Family:
Eridor -- purple dragon -- father -- wild (Deceased)
Miremel -- brown dragon -- mother -- wild (Deceased)
Not-So-Brief History: Carimiev hatched near the end of the Golden age of the riders. He hatched for a elf named, Lliucion Dramgar. At the time humans were not part of the rider pact just the elves. He and his rider trained under the guidance of the older riders. When Carimiev was six months old he did not breath fire as most dragon do when they reach that age. The elder riders seemed unconcerned with it. Lliucion was concerned though and often pestered him about it and he would evade the question.
A radical resistance group was starting to build in the north and Carimiev and Lliucion were sent to quell the fighting. The resistance captured Lliucion during the battle. Enraged Carimiev let loose his fire for the first time, four months after he had been expected to do so. Lliucion was burned slightly before warding herself from the flames. Her captors were not so lucky and got charred on the spot.
When Lliucion thanked him and asked him again why he hadn't breathed fire before now he told her, he could've but he simply didn't want to. From Lliucion he had learned to respect life in all forms and he understood how harmful fire could be to it. Until now he had not wanted to cause harm using his fire.
Carimiev and Lliucion continued to train, learn, enforce the peace, and fulfill their roll as a Rider and dragon. The golden age slipped by in tranquility and eventually they were entrusted with training a younger human rider and his dragon. The youth was eager and knew little about magic. After being frustrated by this one day Lliucion said she would not train him any more. It was only at Carimiev's urging that she decided to still train him anyways.
The youth grew to be a great rider until his dragon was slain in a fight. For a while he seemed okay but then he went mad and Carimiev and Lliucion had to face in him. The result was a fight in which Lliucion killed her former student.
Lliucion seemed unbothered by having to kill him, but Carimiev knew different. She was distraught by it. Carimiev tried to calm her down but nothing he said helped. By now the fall of the riders had begun and Lliucion was still not the same as she had been before the incident.
Carimiev could see the fall of the riders was going badly and he entered his heart of hearts. Lliucion and he had decided that if they should die, Carimiev should survive and help either rebuild the riders or help those who opposed Galbatorix and the forsworn. Carimiev flew to the Beor mountains and hid his Eldunari.
It wasn't long after that Lliucion and Carimiev were at Gil'ead fighting a member of the forsworn. They fought long and hard but in the end Carimiev was slain first. Lliucion knew he survived in his heart of hearts but his Eldunari was in the Beor mountains. Without him by her side should couldn't hope to flee or win the fight and she too fell.
Carimiev remained in the Beor mountains without any knowledge of what had become of his rider. He was hopeful that she would come for him but as the days wore on he came to accept the worst. In his grief he remained there for decades, undiscovered.
When the Varden took shelter with the dwarves he reached out to them. The Varden were what he and Lliucion had wanted. At least now he could revenge his rider by helping them and when the war was over he'd join Lliucion in death. He remained with the Varden for some time and helped their cause.
When he was needed elsewhere the Varden would move his Eldunari and travel. Carimiev longed to be in the air and fly but he could not longer do so.
Roleplay Sample
Emiryal will find Carimiev's Eldunari during the Varden patrol attack. This sample is during that attack.

Carimiev's Eldunari was wrapped in a soft green velvet cloth. The Varden were on the move again and transporting him to another location, presumably to protect him from falling into Empire hands or to a more strategic location. Carimiev preferred to believe the later. After all he could take care of himself.
The cart he was in bounced over the bumpy road and once again Carimiev longed to just take to the skies, something he hadn't been able to do in over a century.
Then they stopped. Carimiev thought nothing of it. Maybe one of those silly horses had gotten a burr on it's hoof or something. Then chaos broke out. It took Carimiev a moment to realize what had happened. They had been ambushed. He lashed out with his mind towards the Empire soliders and lightly touched their minds. He was searching for an opponent worthy of him, an opponent the Varden would need his help to defeat. His heart sake as he brushed Emiryal and Firern's mind. So the Empire had sent a Rider to ambush them?
In that moment Emiryal became aware of Carimiev's presence, the old dragon wasn't attacking him yet, he had only brushed his mind. Seems like our intelligence spoke true, he commented to Isikal and Firern. So it seems, Firern replied.
Emiryal had already engaged some of the Varden soldiers and slain three. He ran Ebrithal through a fourth before tracing Carimiev's presence to one of the Varden's carts.
Carimiev struck at Emiryal with his full force but he instantly met resistance. Emiryal's strongest skill was his mental defenses, but that was only half the reason Carimiev's attack didn't break Emiryal's mind. Isikal's and Firern's minds had joined in and were helping Emiryal defend himself. Carimiev was still more than a match for all three of them, but he hesitated. He recognized Isikal. What was she doing helping the Empire?
Before Carimiev could change his mind and attack again Emiryal jumped over a fallen Varden soldier and raced for the cart. As soon as he reached it he searched the cart. When he didn't find the Eldunari he realized it was hidden in one of the barrels, which he quickly cut open with his sword. He pulled out the rather large Eldunari in the green velvet.
Carimiev was enraged when Emiryal picked up his Eldunari. The Empire wouldn't want the Varden to have any Eldunari. Either he would be killed or taken as a prisoner. He lashed out with his mind and nearly broke the mental barrier that the two dragons and Emiryal had put up.
Letta skulblaka, Emiryal said. Unless you wish to die. Emiryal was holding the Eldunari in his right hand. His left had was just above it glowing with a black energy. The spell in his hand was none other than the same spell Murtagh had used to kill the dwarven king. It was pure dark magic and would render almost all wards useless against it.
Carimiev stopped and withdrew as the elf had demanded. He was enraged but if he died he wouldn't be able to help the Varden. Emiryal would be able to cast the spell and kill him before he would be able to break the elf's mind. And if he lived he could harm the Empire from the inside, well that was if the Varden didn't stop Emiryal right now.
