I know that there is a rule that sets a limit on characters at two. However, the wording of the rule did not make it seem like it is too harshly enforced, and the Empire seems in need of characters, so I thought I would give it a try.
Full Name: Sir Heath of House Bleam
Other names: Bleam the Long-arm, Knight Champion of Uden, The Lion of the Isles.
Race: Human
Side: Empire
Birthplace: Uden Island
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Birthday: Celebrated at the first snow every year.
Eyes: Green
Hair: Blonde
Weight: 215 lbs, 275 lbs in full armor.
Height: 6’3”
Magic User: No
Preferred Weapon(s): Primarily Lance, Sword, and Shield. As a primarily mounted combatant, Sir Heath uses sturdy 12 foot, ash lances with steel heads. On occasion Heath will use a mace when mounted.
As the Champion of Uden, and the greatest Knight in his family, Heath uses a sword and shield passed down in his family for generations. His sword, King-caller, is a hand-and-a-half broadsword forged of Dwarven steel. As a dwarven sword, it is heavy, very sharp, and very durable. It has been in the possession of House Bleam for 450 years.
Tide-dam, the ancestral shield of House Bleam, is the cousin of the blade King-caller. Crafted of Dwarven steel, the shield is a heavy armor piece bearing the Lion Rampant crest of House Bleam. Both sword and shield are trimmed in red, and polished to a proud shine.
Appearance:
Most people consider Sir Heath to be the quintessential Knight in shining armor. He is tall, at over 6 feet, and is possessed of blonde hair and green eyes. He has noble and angular features, broad shoulders, and a high but approachable manner about him. His golden locks fall to below his ears, and he keeps his face clean-shaven.
As a Knight, Sir Heath is most often seen in some form of armor, generally in the reds and golds of his family colors, and always has his sword at his waist. When not in combat he generally wears some form of light leather protection. On the battle-field, or when attending to political matters, Heath wears the heavy armor of a knight (seen in pictures). He wears a red, weighted cape, and a simple crested helm.
Personality: Sir Heath prides himself on his honor and his character above all else. He constantly strives for virtue, and practices Chivalry at all times. As a high-born Knight, Heath seems arrogant and regal from afar, but those who meet him soon find that, like his father, he has the common touch.
He is clever, friendly, thoroughly educated and well-spoken, though he prefers actions over words. Brave is a word often used to describe Sir Heath. Though the position was thrust upon him rather early in his life, Sir Heath is revered as a great leader by his men. He rarely subscribes to vice, and is deeply religious, believing in the Storm God, Trodes, of the Isles.
Likes: Riding, Jousting, The Islands, Warm Weather, Beautiful things, Helping others, The initial charge of a battle.
Dislikes: Politics, Archers, Being unhorsed, People who are rude or crass.
Strengths: Excellent combatant, skill with both mounted and standing combat, Bravery, Endurance of the spirit and body.
Weakness: Lack of magic, Family ties, Bound by morality, Not well versed in negotiating or matters of state.
Family:
Father: Lord Madrey Bleam, Count Uden (aged 62 years)
Mother: Lady Coraline Bleam, Countess Uden (aged 48 years)
Wife: Lady Persephone Bleam (Deceased)
Sisters: Lady Leona Bleam (aged 25 years), Lady Catherine Bleam (Aged 25 years)
Other family connections through marriage.
Not-So-Brief History:
Born the eldest child of the wealthy Lord Bleam of Uden, Heath started life as a sickly child, but a child of privilege none-the-less. The humidity of the Islands did not agree with the fragile constitution of Heath’s mother, Lady Coraline (who hails from Dras-Leona), so Heath relied on the guidance of his father as he was raised in court. Being from the Southern Isles, Heath could not become a proper squire without travelling from home.
At the age of 10, he was sent to be a page for a wealthy lord in Arroughs, where he learned manners, Chivalry, service, and began to learn the arts of war practiced by Knights. Heath was raised to Squire for the famous Knight Sir Cyrus of Gil’ead at the age of 12, when he began training in earnest. As the most promising youth of his age, Sir Cyrus was glad to take Heath in.
At 15 Heath won his first tournament melee, though his training was soon interrupted by duty. Sir Cyrus was called upon to aid the Empire’s battle against the up-and-coming Varden, and as a Squire, Heath was expected to accompany his Knight. It was during this time that Heath first experienced the glory of warfare. The campaign pushed the Varden back into the Beors, suppressing them as it was intended to do, and Heath was knighted for his efforts in the campaign at the age of 16.
As he grew into a man, Sir Heath’s prowess as a Knight became well known. Though the King never chose a champion, Sir Heath was known as the man to beat in the various tournaments held by the nobles of Alagaesia. On the day of his marriage, at 22, Sir Heath was given the armaments that he now uses, as a wedding gift by his father. He was also made the commander of the Landing Riders, the cavalry of Uden, known for its ability to travel and attack from aquatic platforms.
Conflict against the Varden became more and more common, and the Landing Riders were often called upon in the skirmishes, roaming over all of Alagaesia to fight. It was during this time that Lady Persephone, Sir Heath’s wife, passed away in a fire back in Uden. The Knight vowed to never love another, and often fought in Persephone’s name.
Gaining the favor of the King through his son’s actions, Lord Madrey gladly swore the service of House Bleam to Galbatorix. Sir Heath and the Landing Riders continue to fight for the good of Uden and the Empire.
