Firern had laid his head on the ground and closed his eyes. He appeared to be resting but he was still very aware of what was going on. He wasn't asleep. "You have a lot of courage," Emiryal commented when Nepherion spoke. "Be care not to let it blind you." It was good to have courage but it was not wise to let that be your driving force. In times you needed wisdom to tell you when to back down. Nerpherion might have been strong for his age but he doubted he was as strong as an elf, let alone and elven rider like himself. Firern was much bigger than Starlight anyways.
"Of course. You may ask me anything," Emiryal said. Not that he would answer truthfully to all questions though. There were some things he could not speak of or he would be risking his life either by Galbatorix's hand or the Varden's.He followed Nepherion's gaze to the hilt of his blades. Not many Riders used twin blades to fight with.

Nepherion brought his eyes up to Emiryal. " That wouldn't be the first time someone's told me that. I guess my arrogance shows through sometimes. " A small smile curved his lips and a bit of his innocence showed through. He plopped down onto the ground, bending his legs at the knees. " I was told that Rider swords aren't being made anymore. How did you manage to get two ? " he asked.
Starlight soared through the camp, not minding the small humans below. He had little admiration for them. They were only as useful as their minds, and even then most had little of that. They were content with living lives of little importance, so he would treat them with little importance. Flying down to the chef's tent, he opened his wings and allowed the current to slow his drop. His paws pounded the ground as he landed and the crowd suddenly split as he walked around towards the back. It brought him great amusement to see them fear him. As it should be.
He let out a snarl at the back of the tent and soon afterwards it flapped open. The butcher came out then flinched and gawked before heading back in. Starlight pawed at the ground until the chef had returned with a large slab of meat. Starlight clenched it between his jowls before heading off in a hurry towards Nepherion. The beat of wings battered the weak tents of the people below before rose up into the air.

Emiryal smiled a little bit. Yes saying Nepherion was arrogant was one way to put it. But Emiryal could be a bit arrogant as well, he just justified it by saying he had more experience than others. As the young rider asked about his rider blades he looked away as though he wasn't sure he wanted to answer the question.
In one smooth motion he drew out Domia and rested the blade across his lap then Ebrithil as well. He had moved to sit on Firern's foot. Being as big as the black dragon was Emiryal's feet barely touched the ground. The black blades didn't gleam in the light but seemed to absorb the light, like a living shadow.
"You are correct, Rider swords are not made anymore," he said. "My swords were not made for me, though the resemblance to Firern is rather uncanny." He paused and seemed to be deep in thought. Then seeming to decide at last he spoke. "Galbatorix gave me these. They were kept in his personal treasury in Uru'baen. He told me these blades belonged to one of the original Foresworn. I don't know who, as their names can't be recalled anymore. The original name of these blades was wiped along with the rider who used them. I renamed them Domia and Ebrithil, because we, Firern and I, are dominated with sorrow and are masters of our misery."
The subject of discussing the origin of his blades seemed to be something he wasn't proud of and didn't want to admit, but he became distressed when he explained the names of the swords and the reason for that name.
Firern looked up suddenly and twisted his head to look at his rider. His ice blue eyes seemed concerned. Emiryal touched Firern's scales as if to say it was alright. As soon as he did the dragon rested his head on the ground again, but didn't close his eyes again.
