Not-so-brief history: Raised in the Spine with his brother and sister, Will became an excellent archer, while Jack taught him swordsmanship and Anastasia taught him to be sneaky, which he ended up using against her. His father cared for him as much as his mother and told him that everybody, including Will, had a destiny, whether great or small, and this gave Will his adventurous spirit. His grandmother and grandfather told him the stories of the Dragon Riders, and Will then had his heart set on meeting one. As Will grew older, he decided to start going out on his own. He visited Carvahall and Therinsford frequently, meeting several people, including Catalina, whom he was quite fond of, and Eragon, a poor farmboy he befriended once.. Eventually, he left his family and started to go farther and farther down the range of the Spine and had small adventures to numerous to count.
