Post by Cale Ank'hu on Jun 18, 2012 22:51:10 GMT -5
Full Name: Cale Ank'hu
Other name: N/A
Race: Half Human/Half Elf
Side: None, neutral.
Birthplace: Ília Fëon
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Birthday: February 10th
Eyes: Dark Purple
Hair: Light brown, short and scruffy.
Weight: 152lbs
Height: 6ft 2'
Magic User: Yes
Preferred Weapon(s): Kinái'Asha - Purple Spirit. (Hand-and-a-half sword); Kinái'Asha is the primary and more favoured weapon wielded by Cale Ank'hu. The hilt of the sword is wrapped in jet black leather, while the blade itself is a dark purple, almost identical to the colour of Cale's eyes. The sword does not glow, but even an area of hardly any light, the colour is easily recognisable.
Elákholai - Brightstar. (Spatha, regular sword); The second weapon owned by Cale Ank'hu and the least used of the two. The hilt colour is opposite to the first sword, being strapped in a white cover but is styled in the same way - looking like strips of leather. The blade of the sword is white, which many people confuse with being silver from a distance. However, those who set their eyes upon it will never make that mistake again due to the bright shine it gives out in the daylight.
Appearance: Cale stands at a tall height of 6 foot 2', which makes him easy to spot in crowds of humans. His frame is rather slender and athletic, causing people to try target him as easy pickings. To try bulk himself out a little, Cale has adopted the use of leather armour, although it doesn't have much effect given his choice of clothing. Because he doesn't want to be considered 'weak' by wearing armour, Cale wears loose fitted clothing to hide the leather armour from view. The clothes contradict his idea of 'bulking himself out' with armour, because the baggy clothes make him appear even more slim than he already is.
Another problem Cale has is his facial appearance. Because of his half human/half elf appearance, he is not fully accepted by the human society. His pointed ears and narrow, purple eyes make him an outcast and once again a target to 'bullies' or small mobs. Like his armour idea, Cale has started to wear a hooded cloak to conceal his face. But, to his dismay, it arouses suspicion of town and city guards as to why he wishes to go unnoticed - once again attracting more attention to his strange features.
Personality: Cale is known as a loner and an outcast. Accepted by neither human or elven society. Humans dislike him because of his elven blood, while Elves are wary of him because of his human blood. Either way, Cale is at a loss. Because of the actions, slander and harsh 'welcomes' he has received in his life, Cale has decided to become a traveller, finding peace and a sense of welcome with nature and the untravelled road. He is also shy and quiet around people, as well as mistrusting. He has never met a kind hearted being, or hasn't known one long enough to care about them.
However, Cale has been known to be extremely kind to those in need, for example any injured traveller he has met along the way, he will offer aid. Although, he never sticks around long enough for them to offer thanks or a gift.
There are several more parts to Cale' personality, but he has yet to discover what they are because of his bad experiences in life. He wishes to one day find true peace and acceptance somewhere in the land, so he can find his true self.
Likes: Nature, Animals, Peace, Quiet, Travelling.
Dislikes: Most human towns/cities, noise, egocentric beings.
Strengths: Determination to find true happiness, will power.
Weakness: Shy, quiet, physical appearance issues.

History: Many years ago, an Elven woman of an unknown name travelled for most of her life through the forest Du Weldenvarden. She would start at the border near to Ceunon and travel east until she reached Ílas Fëon. She had little time for company, except for the wildlife of Du Weldenvarden. It filled her with joy and happiness to hear the song birds sing and the land animals howl and cry to their young. What could be more appealing to an Elf than the life cycle of nature? Being one with the forest they called home.
For many of years, the elven woman travelled back and forth, back and forth. Each day bringing her eyes a new joy. It was the season of summer by the time she reached Ílas Fëon, she walked south to the border of the forest, as she always did. There she had located a small pool, surrounded by rocks and inhabited by the most beautiful song birds and largest, most colourful of fish. It was one of her greater finds in the forest of Du Weldenvarden. However, on this particular visit, she found something she did not expect sitting at her pool. A human.
The Elf was shocked, truly. Never before had she seen a human within the forest, even so close to the border. It was a strange sight. Some what confusing and irritating, yet also fascinating and intriguing. She knew of Dwarves and their stubbornness, she knew of Urgals and the vile warmongering. But humans.. humans were different. Not one human was a like, each completely different to the next and like all Elves, she had a thirst for knowledge.
The female Elf studied the human for many days. Watching him bathe and hunt, sing and craft. He was interesting. He was so happy, so full of joy and peace - as if he had no doubts in the land. It filled the Elf with a strange feeling, a tingling feeling she had never felt before. At first it worried her, but eventually she welcomed it to the point where she lusted for it.
It was almost two weeks into her studying of the human before she mustered up the courage to approach him. To begin with, the human was nervous and somewhat scared by the Elf, he - like her, had never seen an Elf before and was unsure of how she might feel about him being in the realm of Du Weldenvarden.
After much conversation from both parties, both accepted neither meant any harm to the other. And so, the human and the elf grew closer. Spending weeks and months together in the pool and surrounding forest. Together, they ventured into Du Weldenvarden - but not too far. The Elf knew better than to take a Human too deep into the forest without permission. But nonetheless, it was only a matter of time before strong feelings began to grow in the two of them.
This was the time Cale Ank'hu was conceived. After a year together by the pool and surrounding forest, the two beings split and headed back onto their own paths, both unaware of the baby growing within the female Elf. It wasn't until several months later that the female noticed the changes happening to her body.
At first, she was in a panic. Terrified of what her own race would think about her carrying a human's child. For many weeks she pondered and worried, walking towards the capital for a couple of days, then heading back towards the pool. It was her worst nightmare, she couldn't bare the thought of the Elves sneering down their noses at her. Even though she never spent much time within the cities in Du Weldenvarden, she would always be known as the human child carrier.
It was this thought that made up her mind. She headed back to the pool in hope of finding her human 'lover.' However, to her disappointment, he was no where to be seen. No sign of any traveller could be found in the surrounding areas in which they ventured together. In the end, she sat on one of the larger rocks and did the only thing her body could think of doing. Cry.
Alone, scared and carrying a child she could never love. The Elf spent the remainder of her pregnancy at the rock pool, in hope her human would wander by on a whim and take the baby away from her. She did not care where, she just knew it had to be away from her.
The birth date of Cale arrived with no sign of his father. The elf had given birth all by herself, no knowledge on how to do it prior to the event. With much effort and struggle, she succeeded.
She was tired, extremely tired. However, her maternal instincts forced her to care for the child. She cut the cord, cleaned the baby and even fed him. But, this wasn't to last very long. After a few days, reality sunk in for the Elf and she knew she had to leave or forever be stuck with the half-breed. She removed her cloak and wrapped the baby up to keep him warm and placed him under a large oak tree for shelter. As a final parting 'gift', the female Elf removed a leather bracelet from her left wrist and placed it within the cloak wrapped around her baby, in hope his father would find him and know that the child was his.
Without a second glance, she turned and headed deep into the forest of Du Weldenvarden, with no intention of seeing her son again.
-------------
Many would think this would be the end for young Cale. However, as luck would have it, his father did stumble by. Some may say on a whim, some say the birds of the wild beckoned him with their strange calling songs. Either way, he found the baby hidden amongst the trees.
After close inspection, the human father found the bracelet and knew instantly who the child was. He was flooded with emotions almost at once. Confusion; as to why the mother left him alone. Grief; as he could of lost his only son without knowing. Joy; that he had a son, an heir.
The father spent little time in hanging around by the pool once he had found the child. He cared only for the well being of his son and took him out of Du Weldenvarden and to his home, east of the Hadarac desert.
-------
Cale grew up with his father, taking on his surname of Ank'hu and living in a small hut away from any civilization. His father trained him to use swords and taught him various crafts and arts of survival - such as hunting, fishing and stealth. Cale learned quickly, and learned to push himself to his limits.
Cale's father, Eolus, told him of his heritage and how his mother and father met. Cale enjoyed the tale, but was always saddened by the fact his mother had left him alone in the dense forest alone with no idea if his father would turn up to save him.
After many years in the hut, both Cale and his father decided to travel west to the human cities. The started their journey by travelling north around the Hadarac desert, deciding that the wildlife of Du Weldenvarden would suit their needs better than the harsh, rocky mountains of the Beor.
They travelled for many months, slowly making their way towards the human cities. However, Eolus was growing old in age and struggled to keep up with Cale, much to his sons horror. It was on one dark night, under the thick trees of the Du Weldenvarden that Eolus passed away.
And so, Cale was forced to carry on alone, after burrying his father with make shift tools from the fallen branches of trees from the forest. He refused to give up on the dream he and his father had. To make a living within the city of Gil'ead and live in much prosperity.
((This history will be expanded should the Character sheet be accepted.))
Anything extra: Assuming the character is accepted and there are available slots to be a Dragon Rider. I would love to become a neutral Dragon Rider. The most obvious reason is that my character is a loner type so wouldn't plan on joining the Empire or the Varden. PLEASE NOTE; If it's not possible for me to become a rider, then just let me know so I can void this section, thanks.
Dragon's Name: Vhassus (Vhas for short.)
Birthplace: North of Isenstar Lake
Gender: Male
Colour: Iridescent Purple/Black
Eyes: White
Physical Appearance: Since Vhassus is a young, undeveloped Dragon. Many of his features are yet to be determined. However, his scales are a iridescent purple, which may look black depending on the angle of light. His head is also slightly large in proportion of his body and his talons are rather long for a Dragon his size.
Personality: Vhassus is rather different to his rider, being that the Dragon is rather confident and arrogant and likes to be the centre of attention where ever he can. Vhas can also be rather rash in decisions due to his age, and likes to dive into a situation head first without thinking of the consequences. However, because the two are completely different in personality, they do balance each other out. Each giving the other the qualities in which they lack.
