Brenton grinned as he caught enough information to know about the lock pick and Nandon being a rider. This information was of great importance and so he turned to Kvisa. Your captive may have a lock pick or some other way to escape. I'd make sure that these things are disposed of. Meanwhile, Brenton snapped the chain enough so that it would be easier to pick. It wasn't his intentions to keep the elf captive. When you get loose, jump through the hole in the wall. My dragon, Vaentr, will catch you and you will be safely carried to the ground. He is a deep blue color and is the largest. Be careful though, as they may send someone after you. I will try to get that job, as you are my captive. Brenton then turned away and walked over to Vaentr. You heard that conversation. It was shielded from all else but I will need you to help the elf escape. He is too important, even if everyone else disagrees. Now go, my friend. Be ready, as I will jump as well and I'll feign a pursuit.
Vaentr jumped and released from helgrind. With his wings half open, he propelled into the air and then shot out of the updraft and flew around in wait. The plan was simple and the great blue trusted his rider.

Nandon blinked as he listened to what the other elf said and he frowned thinking it was some trick but then Nandon shrugged inwardly to himself and reached behind his back pulling the stone free he grabbed the make shift lock pick and set to picking the lock as he looked around... Due to him not eating his breakfast that morning he would be plenty fine to use weak magic...
As soon as Nandon felt the lock open he cast off the chains and stood up quickly his cell door was wide open and he rushed towards the whole in the wall leaping clear through and free fell as he did this he looked around and spotted the dragon he had been told to find and once again he shrugged but he took faith that he wouldnt be recaptured and cast a spell that turned him invisible as well as pulled him closer to the blue dragons back... Unfortunatly the dragon moved half way through the spell and he almost fell before he was able to grasp on to the dragons foot and cling on. still holding the invisibility spell

Brenton watched as the captive elf slid a lock pick out and broke the chains. With a slight glance at the hole and making sure that Undbitr was sheathed, Brenton started listening to everyone talking. When Nandon dashed past, Brenton side stepped just enough to make it look like he was shifting his weight. Suddenly he turned and acted frustrated. Damnit! Alright guys, I'm after that captive. Murtagh you know how to find me if need be. The last part was in referrence to the tracking device in the ring. Most people thought he was oblivious to the tracker, but really he used it to his advantage. Brenton spun on his heel and thought about how Brom would've been proud of him, even though he was currently against the Varden. The prince jumped out of the cell block and free fell toward his dragon. The air whipped at his cloak as he grabbed the sword belt so that Undbitr didn't fall out of its sheathe. He slid into the hollow at the base of Vaentr's neck.
Vaentr flew down so that he was within approximate range of the captive's free fall. The great blue felt the elf grab his leg. While he positioned his wings, Vaentr swung the leg in question up so that the elf fell onto his back instead. Get comfortable, elf, for we are going after my rider. Without him, you wouldn't be here right now. Vaentr shot up into the updraft and caught Brenton as he passed within reach. The dragon then flew down toward the wooded hills while he was able to avoid the dragons who were also there.

Nandon turned left the spell that he was using was begining to tire him but he held it on for a short time longer then he released it hoping no one would see him... He blinked again as he was tossed into the air and landed on the dragons back... His mind still trying to process the going ons

((Sorry about the shortness of the post. I'm trying to juggle school and life and it is really hard))
Brenton controlled his breathing as he slowly lowered his heartbeat and body heat. He had figured out that the tracker was best in its work when his vitals showed that he was fully alive. The fact that he was now trying to appear half dead, the tracker should slow down in its transmissions. He watched the hills pass as the captive rode with him. Alright you can jump anytime now. The elven prince felt a strange doubt in his stomach. It was as if the others would discover the plan that had been set by him. If they did, then there would be trouble, and yet there had been no oath restraining him from letting the elf captive escape. Do not fear Nandon, for I am Brenton Bromsson. I am also the son of Queen Islanzadi herself. It is the least I could do to help one of my race escape. But now you really need to jump so I can make this plan work.
Vaentr dropped further in altitude to allow the elf to escape with minimal injuries. The great blue dragon was appalled that his rider had just given away his identity but it was not his decision. Little elf, I can't hold this altitude for long. Plus I feel as if these other dragons will soon join us. Or Murtagh will. I respect the rider, but he isn't incompetent. He will follow eventually.

"My riders are none of your concern," Murtagh said to the shade. He knew not all of the riders respected him as they should.And what Kvisa said was true some of them were tetchy, even to him. The fact remained though that he was their superior, he'd talk to them about showing proper respect later. Vulnar was one of the few who gave him respect and that he knew he could rely on.
"A little strength? Kvisa, you underestimate me. But I am obliged to help you in this endeavor. My strength is yours," he said. With his hoard of Eldundari his strength was second only to Galbatorix himself.
He didn't show it outwardly but he was glad when Kvisa released her hold on all of them. He never liked to waste the Eldunari's strength on pointless things. From his connection with the Eldunari he could tell the youngest brown Eldunari he had was exhausted from sustaining his movements. The others fared much better and had strength left to spare.
Thorn was not in the vicinity and had not been affected by Kvisa's magic. He was out hunting currently, but he was aware of Murtagh and what was going on.
Murtagh followed Kvisa to the table Rhaxta was put on. He had been the one who had actually captured her and brought her here, having disguised himself as a Varden member. He was obliged to follow through with this but he was reluctant.
Then the elf captive escaped. Without magic or a dragon a jump from this high would kill you. He sighed and walked towards the opening. "Who was it who broke this wall exactly," he demanded. The broken wall had compromised the cell and now allowed a prisoner to escape. The punishment for who was responsible was not going to be good. He saw Vaentr below and Brenton but saw no sign of the elf. How had Brenton been so careless to allow his prisoner to escape, had he gotten into Nandon's mind he should've known about the attempt in advance and been able to prevent it.
(Rhaxta: oh no problem. I was aware of this thread when it started, but just didn't get around to posting until now. I'm not really sure if Murtagh will work against the plot or not, right now he'll help, but maybe when he finds out more he'll try to sabotage or something. Maybe just see how it turns out as we roleplay it.)

Uruale had remained silent at the appearance of Murtagh. It had become a practiced discipline of his to try and keep his many rude comments to himself in the face of the "Kingkiller". Though he allowed his thoughts free reign inside it's own sanctuary. Kvisa's black tendril drilled through his soft padded wall of a defense and touched his mind with ease. Though it had been weakened from the sound of her voice and other inner annoyances, he still felt slightly inadequate and ill-prepared.
Her voice spoke to him with all the allure of pure perfection and he found himself dangerously on the edge of becoming a puppet for her doings. It was a fear that quickly establish a place in his heart after he had nodded in conceded to her words. A pale, glazed expression coated his face for a moment. After shaking free of it, he contorted his face in such a way that showed an annoyance at his own weakness. I can't keep falling for every honey word she speaks. This is storm-breakingly angry. he thought.
Flare was on the back of the deep-ocean-blue-dragon when she was quickly shot into the sky - thanks to the updraft that appeared out of nowhere. Her wing open up and yanked on the joints, cause a pain to shoot through her. With a quick snarl and snort, Flare balanced herself on the draft and looked down at the massive color of the dragon. Her rose eyes gleamed onto the his scales , but more importantly he kept a close eye on the beast and everything he did. She was not one to allow an opponent so close to her, free reign.
Uruale hadn't noticed it, but the screams of the small gems on him had ceased. They were finally at peace, but what did that matter to him. To him, The Eldunari's was nothing less then tools to meet the ends of a mean. Though he could tell they were each powerful dragons in their own right. The obsidian gem was once a strong elder dragon but was quickly broken by the Galbatorix after the loss of her Rider. The emerald gem, was not so old or lucky. He was in fact younger then most dragons were and was also quickly broken. None the less, Uruale had enjoyed the extra power they granted.
He had followed on the other side of Kvisa from choice of not wanting to be beside Murtagh. With his arms folded, he looked down on the image of Rhaxta. She was almost just as alluring as Kvisa though not in a dangerous way. He couldn't tell if that was a good thing or a bad. Then suddenly a pain shot up in his upper back and he was sure it was because of the connection with Flare. It was as if something had yanked on his arms and stretched them higher then their joints had allowed. His jaw knotted as he bared the pain in silence and was forced to watch the elf -who he had burned- flee and escape. Natural reflex caused him to reached out towards his legs but the pain from Flare's wings quickly ended that faltering.
Flare eyed the dragon from above and watched a small figure leap from the hole she had created. Her eyes also spotted the glittering figure of the dragon drop low towards him. Flare snarled brightly and let loose a torrent of flames to illuminate the night sky below her. The intense crackling sound filled the air around her and soon drowned out the roar she had emitted before it. She dove from the sky and towards the hole where she had expected to see Uruale.
The appearance of the Dragonkiller's apprentice surprised her. Her single rose colored eye searched the confines of the room, until she spotted Uruale shrugging off the pain and almost fluently rolling his shoulders and seemingly healing his and her joints. It was obvious he had dipped into the powers of Eldunari's. The elation she felt from the heal bruises brought a bugle of joy from her as she shook herself.
Uruale looked at Murtagh as he grasped the opening of hole with his back-hand and looked back at him. " That would be me O great " Kingkiller ", he said, not looking back to lock eyes with him. " The fact that that scum of an elf even had the energy to run proves that someone tampered with him. Even I can sense the vigor in his step when he ran by. Then again he could had done that himself. His teeth clenched as he stepped onto Flare's foreleg and climbed into the saddle. " I need to Kill sometime. My anger is at it's peak right now. " he looked off at Murtagh as Flare glided from the hole. " Do I have your grace to leave... Or will I have to wait. " his displeasure was obvious, but Kvisa had convinced him to play nice. Atleast for now. As he settled into the base of his neck, Uruale begin to contemplate what Brenton's part in this was. He seemed to prepared for that jailbreak.

Brenton slowly raised his heartrate enough so that the others wouldn't suspect he was dead. That would definitely send someone after them. At that moment, the prince felt slightly uncomfortable as they went further into the hills. Right about the time that Brenton was going to alert the others, Vaentr arched his back and roared in frustration. We have another dragon following us. I'm sorry Nandon, but we can't allow them to catch us with you. Safe travels. The glittering blue beast shot down toward a lake and then abruptly switched directions so that the elf fell off and the dragon and rider shot into the air. We need to lose them, Vaentr. Let's show these treacherous villains how we fight. The dragon roared in anger and then whipped his wings out so that they rose straight into the air and were heading toward Flare and her rider.
Brenton adjusted his position in the saddle and then drew Undbitr. The rider slipped his helm over his head and shrugged his coat of armor up so that it rested better on his shoulders. Brenton grabbed his shield from the saddle straps and slipped it into position on his left arm. Now they were ready, but just to be safe, the rider drew energy from the surrounding foliage and stored it in Undbitr while also replenishing his own health. With all of the trees nearby, it left none of them dead.

nandon was flung into the lake with a light splash and he slowly let himself sink to the bottom... Once he reached it he threw his mind out in all directions taking energy from the surounding plants and animals in the lake so he could heal himself for one... Two cast a water breathing spell... And three bring back what energy he had lost... After doing this he hid himself amongst the Plant life in the lake waiting for the dragons to leave.

Kvisa remained absorbed in her inspection of the half-elf Rhaxta; even as the other elf-captive escaped. Kvisa had felt the disturbances around both that elf and the rider Brenton; but she had her own reasons for staying silent until it was too late. As the elf leaped from the cell and into thin air, the shade gave a beautiful, shrill laugh and clapped her hands - like she would a performance.
''Well now, that is fascinating. I wonder that the King will make of it...'' she purred, giving Murtagh a grin that made it plain that she would not be the one to tell him. After Uruale voiced his anger, Kvisa's silver-pool eyes shimmered with genuine sympathy.
''Well my dear, we cannot have that. So I say, after this you may go and take your venom out on one of the other prisoners..'' she said, rolling the collar around a finger. ''Won't be much of a challenge for you, unfortunately but should get you by.''
Still standing by Rhaxta's side, she struck out again with her mind, in an attempt to catch her off-guard and barrel through, but was rebuffed by the eldunari that sheltered her mind. She tried multiple times, until even the shade was sweating and beginning to tire. Each time she delved the reaction was more intense - and less forgiving.
After a particularly violent attack, Kvisa twitched and taking a deep breath closed her eyes. Nothing changed on her face - but she must have eventually reached some form of conclusion. When her eyes opened, they were full of mischief.
Seeming to forget anyone but her and Rhaxta were there, Kvisa strode slowly around the table until she was standing at Rhaxta's head. Her pale hands gently traced the girl's heart shaped face, leaving pale streaks and prints in the grime on her features. Even in the low light, Rhaxta's hair seemed to shimmer a burnished copper-gold, filled with a multitude of different shades in between, with the very lightest blonde-white highlighting it all.
The shade slowly leaned forward and placed her forehead against Rhaxta's, her eyes closed being the only sign of her concentration. Rhaxta was still unconscious, only the slow rise and fall of her chest indicating life remaining. Slowly, tendrils seeped from the shade and caressed against Rhaxta's conciousness, trying to find weakness - an entry point.
Her own shadowed and cavernous mind enveloped Rhaxta's and for what seemed like hours she stayed and observed, hoping there would be some hint at a weakness - or indeed the connection between her and the eldunari - but there were none. Nothing. She frowned as a thought crossed her mind, and in a flash she reached her hand down Rhaxta's body and scored her nail across her thigh.
Immediately blood ran out from the wound, a deep red against the woman's pale skin. Rhaxta gasped and twitched though stayed unconscious. There wasn't even a flicker or movement around or in her mind. Kvisa grinned, seemed to forget she had opened the girl's thigh.
''As far as I can tell the-...thing that is helping her is very far away indeed- fortunately. Else we probably would have been destroyed. It only seems to react to magical or mental attacks ..'' Kvisa muttered, apparently to herself although it was loud enough for the others to hear.
With an air of decision and finality about her, Kvisa sprang the catch on the barbed collar and deftly clicked it about Rhaxta's neck. Immediately Rhaxta bucked, hands pulling against her bindings to try and scratch and pull at the burning, hissing thing around her neck. The metal was glowing white hot and seemed to grow and writhe about her neck, weaving itself into her skin, her body, her mind. It only lasted moments, but to Rhaxta it seemed to last an eternity. The metal collar soon cooled and formed a tight, narrow band about her neck, the weave and plait of the metal interlacing with the skin. At the front of the collar was a ring that held the woven chain together, the middle of which seemed to - at the same time - hold a shimmering radiance and nothing at all. ''There, now at least I will always be able to find her.'' Kvisa said, brushing her brow with the back of a small hand.
She eyed the riders' around her. ''Well now, gentlemen. This is the point where I will need some..assistance. The collar isn't working as of yet. We need to subdue her and bind the collar to her properly - as a bonus, being involved with the binding means she cannot harm you with magic. Which, when she awakens...might not be such a bad idea.''

Uruale sat atop of Flare, his eyes were concentrating on the point that was Kvisa's back. His gray-slate eyes seemed glazed over with a coating of indecisiveness. He had wanted badly to tear at the Brenton for releasing the prisoner, but his eyes could not tear from the image of Kvisa and even more disturbing to him - Rhaxta.
He looked on at Kvisa slowly grow more fatigued, a moistened bead slid down her perfect skin. It had sent a subtle tremble down his legs - a tremble so subtle in fact that he hadn't noticed it. Uruale looked unaffected at the rest of Kvisa's doings. Her methods were quite intrusive and...perceiving. You... Have an attraction to her ? Do you not ?
The words sent a jolt of shock to his mind. Almost instantly Uruale lifted his gloved fist and knocked it against Flare's scaled neck. His iron-toned fist smashed against Flare diamond hard scales. Of course she continued unaffected. What did I say about bring emotions up ? Leave my feelings buried will ya. he said. Flare brought a rose colored eye on Uruale before she snorted. You have never felt emotions like this for a stranger. What will you do ? she asked.
A moment of silence went by as Uruale distracted Flare with pointless thoughts...
" I will do nothing. They will eventually pass. " he said aloud. " It's not as If I've grown attached. They are frivolous feelings caused my magic. " Uruale looked off towards Kvisa as she spoke. The decision to either hunt his prey or secure his safety within this girls presence was a hard decision to make. But one that was shockingly quick. Tightening the helmet on his head and placing a hand on Flare's spike -Uruale prepared for flight.
Flare shot off and a gust of wind burst into the prison as she departed. Before he was too far away Uraule left Kvisa a message. I will help you Kvisa, but you do not owned me. I refuse to be a pawn. Also... Don't count on your elf returning. The message was left with a fading voice as Flare became further and further away. It wasn't long until the connection was completely cut off.
- Exit for now -

((I am not going to bring Brenton back into this topic. It was my realization that with all that happened in the topic and the Searching for Captives thread, Brenton no longer is the same person he was when the oaths were sworn. So that means that he is a captive of the Varden and not an Empire slave anymore))

Uruale returned with a searing, boiling anger in the pit of his soul. He had been defeated, something that had never happened since being bonded to Flare. If he could he would be beating holes into a wall right now. He laid, limp on Flare's hide, the steady beat of her heart soothed his anger. You did well for one against overwhelming odds. Do not beat yourself so harshly. she scolded. He disliked when she commented on his inner struggles.
Urale struggled to place the hilt of Reona securely into it's scabbard. " I do not need a lecture. Just get us back to Helgrind. " rebuked Uruale in return. His jaws staid clenched, his disappointment and fury all melding into a typhoon of malice towards his enemies.
The hours passed with relative silence, which by unspoken consent had been agreed upon. Uruale may have been rough around the edges, but he never enjoyed fussing with Flare. His emotions were complex and she knew that. Once the two had reach Helgrind, Uruale had regained enough strength to sit up in the saddle. With his hands place tightly on an ivory spike, he braced himself for Flare's landing.
She banked around towards the hole that Uruale had created and without regard crash through it and entered the small jail cell. Her body crunched inwards while her talons grasped out for some leverage but barely found any. A intense roar was burst out from her lungs, alerting anyone inside she there.
His body shot forward and he nearly stabbed his forearm on one of her side spikes. He sighed and brushed his hair from his face with one forceful sweep. " Kvisa ! " he shouted. " Let's revise this agreement of ours. " he stated bluntly.

Vulnar jumped out of his skin as Flare and Uruale crashed through the wound in the fortress' side, Flare announcing her presence with a roar. Again. Vulnar's ears would ring for a solid month. An amused grimace crossed his face as he thought Rhaxta's would be ringing a whole lot longer.
Freki's grumbling mood pressed against his mind even from the distance she was. She had gone to the very limit to where she could still sense him - which wasn't particularly far. He was never very good at the whole...mental part of magic. He was raised a soldier, and dear Freki had only been part of him for five years. He was thirty-five now, he certainly came to the trade late, so it was understandable it took some time for him to change his ways.
''Stubborn old goat.''[/i] was the gist of Freki's returning thoughts. She was annoyed because he insisted she stay close enough to remain in contact - so she could not join the fight that Uruale and Flare had gone to hours ago. Freki grudgingly turned back to Helgrind now; any hope of Flare had been followed back had been exhausted even in her eager eyes. Then she amused herself by batting playfully yet half-heartedly at the end of Flare's tail that hung from the wound in the towers side. Freki remained cluthced beneath the opening, her mind now firmly with Vulnar's and paying attention to every detail through his eyes.
Vulnar watched Uruale; noticing his apparent fatigue. Vulnar didn't mention it, or even look blatantly. He was a soldier. He understood fatigue. By Kvisa's intent-gazed features she noticed also, yet surprisingly didn't comment either. Instead, she gave a saucy grin. ''Why, welcome back. Did we have fun?'' she asked, though never really expecting an answer. She watched Uruale, tilting her head to one side. She watched him for a few moments before the corners of her mouth twitched. ''Well?'' she spoke soft, yet her dark-silver eyes blazed with impatience and insane excitement.

Flare flicked her tail harshly at the other dragon as she nipped at her . The feeling was to be bluntly honest, annoying. And she hadn't felt like dealing with the antics of others when Uruale and herself were in such foul moods. Her hind legs scratched at the deteriorating ledge, just barely finding a leverage to stand on. She eyed Uruale attentively as he dismounted. She knows how it went. I'am not in the mood for games. she snapped at Uruale.
He ignored Kvisa's question, just barely finding the energy to pace back and forth infront of her. The soldier could hardly believed he had lost and found it difficult to deal with. Deep, quick, breathes came from his lungs as he paced back and forth. " Kvisa, that mongrel elf got away with my prey and I hate it to the core of my essence. " he rumbled. " I want to revise this agreement of ours and I'm sure it will be in your interest. " he assured her.
It had been painstakingly clear that his dual eldunari had been exhausted of any magic they once had, and would need time to recuperate. So for now he would be defenseless against such a power as Kvisa's, he only hoped that she hadn't noticed. For if she did, than he would more than likely lose the edge to make any deals. Uruale stopped pacing a little to her right and tapped his boot against the stone floor. " I want you to help me to kill every single one of those scum in exchange for my help with the elven woman. " mumbled Uruale through clenched teeth, reluctant to give his freedom away for any reason. But this had to be done. He screamed it out in the ancient language, he was now obligated to destroy them. He had no choice.

Vulnar grimaced as Uruale said the elf and captive escaped. Kvisa's lips twisted into a shadow of a smile, her silvery eyes shimmering with something dark, with an extra solitary flicker as Uruale described the captive as his 'prey'. Vulnar watched with a stilled sense of anticipation as Uruale spoke, yet he did not hear clearly. Through the screamed bout in the ancient language he gleaned something- he didn't understand all of it, but enough. He knew the answer Kvisa would give, and with that felt badly for Uruale. Kvisa would just as soon kill them anyway for her own amusement. Damage done, however, Kvisa smiled broadly, the warmth never reaching her eyes. But for a moment, just as Kvisa stepped forward and momentarily placed a hand on his forehead, instantly returning some of his lost strength. ''Done.'' In the same instant, however, her other hand shot to his, attempting to embed a small spike that had once been housed in the collar about Rhaxta's neck into his wrist. If it took, after a brief burning sensation, Uruale would be able to sense Rhaxta's whereabouts as well as her, and be under the same protection from the witch-elf's magic. There was a slight shimmer of a seen-but-not chain, solid but corporeal, that linked his left wrist to the collar about Rhaxta's neck. In a blink it was gone, though the weight remained. ''Hope the sugar was enough for that medicine- needed to surprise you with it, else she would balk.'' Kvisa rolled her eyes meaningfully toward Rhaxta. ''She has some connection to you, too. In a manner of speaking. Some 'handlers' spoke of them sensing when you have nightmares, and other nonsense. Nothing to concern yourself over, anyway.''Kvisa's gaze fell on Vulnar when he shifted, and pinned him there for a few seconds. After a while he grumbled. ''I suppose..''''Yes. Your turn. Yet I need to surprise you with it, or she will eat you alive if she senses you. You'll either have to entirely surrender, or I will have to spend the next week watching your every move and wait until the moment you least suspect...then..I will strike.''It sounded semi-serious, but there was a rarely seen glint of amusement in Kvisa's eyes. She loved teasing Vulnar. Growling, Vulnar straightened. ''No. No, no, no. Do not piss off the shade! You're not that strong anyway, there's not much to surrender!''[/i] The momentary distraction from his dragon made Vulnar curse, especially when she insulted him, barely started before Kvisa dove, digging the thorn into Vulnar's left wrist - same as Uruale. The there-and-not chain lasted momentarily, but again linked to from wrist to neck then as soon gone again. Vulnar murmured, Rhaxta barely stirred. ''And to think I wanted to be rid of the woman..'' Kvisa only smiled, ''Thank you, Freki.'' she called, loud enough for the dragon to hear her. Freki had stopped pestering Flare the moment she realized she was annoying the other dragon. Vulnar was already sore at her for starting fights- and tonight she was feeling spiteful. ((You can dodge and such Uruale, but Kvisa has no control or anything over Uruale because of the thorn thing- promises. Thought this delivery was amusing...but if you want me to change it that's cool too. Sorry for the wait D:))

Uruale looked towards Vulnar with a even more menacing glare, he didn't need the judgmental eyes of another to tell him he messed up. He snapped his eyes from Vulnar and back to Kvisa as a smile curved her lips. I'm not sure how I feel about that. he told Flare. The dragon flapped her wings, breaking a piece of the crumbling hole. Be prepared just in case. she warned him.
As Kvisa took her steps towards him, Uruale crouched inwards, his soldier instincts taking root. The situation was tense, he had no reason to not show his caution around the shade-elf. He brought his hand down to his side, ready to reach out for Reona if need be. He knew he was no match for her at his current state, but he would not go down easily.
Uruale tensed up when she placed her hand on his forehead. It wasn't until his strength started to return did he relax himself. The energy flowed through him and he felt better than before. Though not at 100%, he felt considerably better than before. At the same time a searing pain shot up his wrist. It felt like fire course through his arm, the shock had dropped him to his knees. He gripped it with enough strength to possibly break it, hoping it would ease the pain.
Flare let loose a angry roar as she struggled to stampede into the building. Uruale pushed his hand out, halting Flare's anger. " No Flare, It's okay. " he groaned. He felt the weight of the chain on his wrist and seen it for that brief second on Rhaxta's neck. You can feel it can't you ? he asked her. The dragon's snarled had remained as her rose eyes searched the room with aimless intent. It wasn't until she looked closely did she realize the magical presence connecting her Rider and the woman. Her snarl faded into a indistinguishable gaze. I feel it now. Tell her to warn people before hand. Flare growled as she found herself stuck inbetween the crumbling building.
Uruale stood from his knees and looked at Kvisa. " Are you always this un-predictable ? " Uruale asked vaguely. He gripped his wrist, searching for a sigh of the spike that had entered him. He rubbed his thumb up the indention underneath his skin. It seemed that he was now more connected to the girl than he would like. But Kvisa was a invaluable ally, he would rather have her on his team than against him. He looked up at Vulnar as she implanted his as well, before stepping towards them. " What now, Kvisa ? Shall we take those bastards to hell and back ? "

Kvisa beamed at Uruale as he stood. ''Welcome back. I am afraid the flashes of madness are all part of my vocation. I am not so unpredictable, just complicated.'' Vulnar's graveled chuckle had barely started before her withering gaze cut him short. He sneered back openly, though the humor had passed from his lips.
She glanced back at Uruale as he spoke, but remained silent for now. She had promised, she would see he got what he wanted. He never said when, though. Kvisa glided over to the table on which Rhaxta was securely bound. Save for the blood and bruises, she seemed asleep. Her lips parted slightly with her deep, slow breathing. Though beneath her lids, her eyes moved. Kvisa grinned down at Rhaxta and with the smallest tendril she could muster, she watched her captives' thoughts. If the riders' or dragons' would but extend themselves too - hopefully careful as she - they would see also.
Kvisa prodded and guided gently, ever so gently. Gradually she began to weave a dream for the sleeping Rhaxta. One that would tell her everything she needed to know.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At first it was dark, then tendrils of a deeper black surged across her vision. Things tugged at unknown memory and knowledge and an image- a place- a feeling manifested itself. She was sat on her heels atop a windswept mountain range, facing to the east and out to sea. At least, she saw the sea until it hit a wall of fog. It seethed like it was alive. Rhaxta trembled; it almost was. She could feel it, like the trickle of another awareness against hers. It was created and sustained with magic.
Something on the wind made her turn away from the cloak of fog and she saw only blurred pasture about her, though she was too high up on too dangerous a slop to have climbed. Down the coastline some bulges suggested more mountains, and a long stretch of plains beyond. All that was focused was what was directly ahead of her.
A crevice ran into the mountain and a red glow and steam rolled from within. It carried on and widened until it opened to a sunken bowl in the mountainside, hidden from all views save for Rhaxta's current, inhospitable perch, and the sky above.
A thick-skinned river of magma burned darkly into the distance, casting a small amount of light on the rocks and what looked like tents it ran by. The base of the bowl was sand, if she could see properly by the light. In the distance the sides of the bowl raised to another jagged cliff, though blurred from this distance. Rhaxta blinked.
Something had moved. Heedless of danger, in the fog of her own mind, Rhaxta moved as close as she could to the ravine, the glow of light beneath her casting a highlight on her in the night. When her eyes adjusted, she gasped. What she thought were rocks nestled in the sand; now she could see there were scores and scores of dragon eggs and great jagged eldunari. Awe could last only a moment before something quailed in Rhaxta and she stopped still, not even daring to breathe. She felt something stirring - not only in the shadows - but in her.
A flash of recognition was all she got from the presence, but then her eyes saw the movement of shadow beyond the eggs. The cliff moved, unraveling itself into a dragon of unimaginable length. It's fire-glowing eye focused on Rhaxta a moment, before it lurched forward, jaws open ready to swallow her...
~~~~~ Before she moved she suddenly became aware of the shade manipulating her mind, insinuating herself into control over her. Instantly she came around. Fear sent her pupils to pins and her body and mind surged with adrenaline, and fear.. and..magic. Instantly she drew on the reserves she didn't know she had - or had aquired - and meant to eviscerate the shade with all the strength she had. Something - an annoying snag - stopped her. Rhaxta almost roared with anger, through sheer strength tearing a wrist from her bindings and landing one clear, solid punch into the side of the shade's face. Fury filled her, the magic burning in her veins and filling her with life and energy. She had to use it before it used her. Scrambling, her mind latched onto the last known protection she had - terrifying as it was - and went.
In an instant Rhaxta was gone- alongside a rushing sound as air filled the space she had once filled.
~~~~~~~~~~
Kvisa twitched, and rubbed her jaw. Freki had moments before gone to help de tangle Flare from the building, but what she had witnessed gave her pause. She now continued, picking up pieces of a wall before flinging them into the air outside.
''I can feel her...it is very faint but I feel her.''[/i]
''Well, now you can trust I was telling the truth of the power to be gained in following.'' Kvisa muttered. Her silver eyes had never left the table Rhaxta had been lying on, all but one binding still tied.
((I guess Uruale can run after her, or he could be touching her when it happens and end up going with? Will sort it out in the next thread anyhows...O: EEE))
The air grew cold around the empty cells and the cell where the former captive had been darkened to grayish shadows. As all of that happened, small static started to pulse through the air and the torch light next to the hole in the wall disappeared and was swallowed by the darkness. It was getting ominous and shadily evil, as if the king himself wouldn't be a surprise to suddenly appear from the very shadows that were now hovering over the cement floor.
A low, soft hiss started to emanate from the concrete and then the shadows receded back into the night air. The torch light appeared as the shadows passed over it, as if it had never gone. In the place of all of the ominous air and shadows stood a girl who was pale with full pink lips. Her skin was smooth and soft, yet no one had touched it for years. The height of the girl was just over five feet and she was slim with curly white hair that had blue mixed in the bottom.
Black eyes stared out over the group of people who were in the destroyed cell block of Helgrind and she allowed her lips to pull back and show her sharp, yet almost normal teeth in a girlish smile. The fact that there were so many riders, three from what she saw, meant that there had to be some plan going on in the room.
There was one other shade in the room, who Bristven thought she recognized from when she had been a captive. Of course back then she had been named Fern and she hadn't been as strong as she was now. Then Bristven noticed Murtagh, her brother who had never been a captive to the Empire, and she allowed a feral snarl to escape from her throat. If he was here, then she was going to figure out what was going on.
The twin katanas, almost too much for such a small woman, were strapped to her back with the hilts sticking a good four inches over her shoulders. Her eyes glistened for a second and then she turned to the shade who was here. It seemed as if something important was happening, and Bristven wanted to be a part of it. Her lips were now together and the charm that most males fell for was fully gathered. So idiotic, testosterone made the males, and yet she enjoyed exploiting that mindset that they all had.
So, you are Kvisa, am I correct? Bristven paused long enough to allow everyone to acknowledge her presence. Well, whoever you are, I am sure you know me and I am sure you also know my feelings toward the King. So if this is a plot against him, then I want in as well as all of your little rider friends. Bristven glanced at every one of the riders, stopping at Murtagh and flashing a smile that meant she remembered how he had grown up with her mother and father while she was exiled to Fasaloft.
(I totally missed the family thing when I approved your character flamebreathe D: Sorry missing so much because of being ill.I am still happy with it, but you might wanna clear how they behave together with Emiryal before getting into it? Iunno, I feel like I should've told him )) Kvisa's pupils widened like a cat's on a mouse when the other shade appeared in the room. Her ears had been twitching since she felt the icy black tendrils of shade magic approach..and the drama of her entrance. It was a touch cheesy in Kvisa's mind, yet thankfully the shade woman appreciated subtlety; which is something she had never really seen from a rider save for Murtagh. She had straightened, head tilting to one side as the other woman spoke. ''Really? A plot against the King? That really isn't something I'd usually bandy about so easily. Yet considering my companions have torn a hole in the side of Helgrind, there isn't really much point in beating around the bush.'' She paused, eyes narrowing, yet at the same time a playful smile played about her pale lips. ''I am afraid any claim to power you have over these little rider friends of mine has recently left. I would be surprised in the King himself didn't feel something, she left in quite a rush. A captive of mine, not the Kings. I happen to want her back. Would an adventure intrigue you, my sister of shadow?''Kvisa took a step - and was immediately across the room, standing directly before the other woman. The sounds coming from her lips seemed to distort and bend - the language of shades, used in their magic and only understood by shades. ''Whoever you are, I want to know where the elf-girl Rhaxta has gone. If you can bring me that information before the riders, you can have the death-King on a leash and collar.''[/color][/i]
