Link felt the leaves and branches hitting his arms and neck yet that just made him move faster. If he was late, then the entire elf territory could fall to the Empire and he would be taken captive as soon as he arrived. That was out of the question for him since he had to be there for his race and the Varden. Also, there was still the question of where the archers and their wives had gone. Link had only seen the soldiers of the red tunic at the outpost and that made him fear for the lives of those who had raised him. Woah! Epona stop now. There is a figure up there that might be able to help. Suddenly a black feathered arrow whizzed past Link's face, narrowly missing him. As soon as he heard the tell tale twang of a bowstring, Link ducked and spurred Epona on. Link drew his long dagger and struck the archer down and continued.
Finally the elf reached Ellesmera, where a lone woman ran up to him and stated that she was one of the first people to see the giant blue dragon flying toward the cliffs. Before the elf woman could finish, Link jumped down from Epona's back and shifted into his shadow elf form and dashed off to the cliffs. When he neared the cliffs, he noticed that there was, in fact, a great blue dragon sitting in front of the house. That wasn't good, yet he was still able to get to the trees behind the house and slip through the shadows. Suddenly, Link got a really bad feeling about the situation. He wasn't sure if he had seen another dragon and the other rider hadn't been making noise. So he drew his bow and reached a window that he felt was out of view of the dragon. When he got there, he slammed through the window and nocked an arrow to the string and drew back.
You are hereby taken into custody of the archer outpost. It is your right to relinquish any weapons and go quietly. Link said with his arrow aimed at Brenton's chest. He still hadn't forgiven the Empire for his parents' death and now they had killed his mentors as well.

((Hey dragonfire...I like the SWAT thing, yet I am bringing in my "giant blue dragon" to deal with you.))
Brenton noticed the window shatter just as Vaentr roared in warning. So when he was the arrow at his chest, he already had his sword drawn and ready to defend himself. It was rather irritating that this elf thought he was going to go with him to the archer outpost. Well, as the son of Queen Islanzadi, I hereby order you to drop your bow and back away from me and my friends. The words he had spoken were in the language of the elves, and that meant that every word he had spoken had truth in it as well as threats if he was not listened to. Then Brenton sat down and started to drink the tea that was still sitting there from the beginning of the conversation they were having.

(( ya that's better, just so you know i wasn't trying to be a pain. Was just trying to make it smoother. If that makes sense, btw you made link from zelda that's freaking awsome.an I must agree the whole thru the window an bow draw in quick succession is pretty nice touch))
Feanaro was about to say something when something sprang through his window an quickly notched an arrow and pointed it at brenton . Saying nothing but merely putting his hands cuped behind his back feanaro stood there looking as if nothing was wrong with what had just transpired. He felt a wave of relief was over him when Brenton simply told him who he was an sat download to finally enjoy the drink feanaro placed there for him. Shifting his gaze over to the bowmen feanaro spoke to him gently "I would greatly appreciate it as well if you would lower your weapon away from my friend there.this is my house and weather you like it or not I will not have blood shed here,we mean you no harm friend but if you choose to act foolishly know that the very large dragon out side belongs to my friend here and I don't think he would be very happy with you if you harm his rider. Now if you wish to settle down we can discuss what the problem here is an decided what action to take, there really is no need for things to escalate ".
Feanaro really did not want a blood shed especially in his home though he enjoyed combat and the rush it gave him he did not relish in pointlessly killing an if this bowmen decided to attack Brenton feanaro already knew vaentr would destroy this house to get to him. So hopeing things could calm down feanaro simply stood there relaxed with a look of curiosity on his face waiting for the intruded who says he is from some archers outpost

I fear no dragon when it is someone who has served and commanded the Empire army. I just lost my mentors from my outpost to soldiers from the Empire and now I will enact my revenge. Elven Prince, I believe not, that you be from the royal family. Prove it or I will kill you now. Link was tired of the deceit that the rider was trying to pass off as well as the other rider being his ally. The bow string tension grew and Link felt as if he were ready to destroy his enemy. Yet there was still the fact that he had to survive such an assault on the home of Oromis. Apparently it was now the home of this other rider though.

Brenton smiled after he finished his drink. It was rather amusing that the elf in front of him was demanding proof of his identity and yet hadn't said who he himself was. Add to that, this elf was a shadow elf, which they were banned from the forest of Du Weldenvarden and had gone extinct. So Brenton acted upon that thought. Shadow elf, whatever your name is, I am as I say for the simple fact that if I were not a son of the Queen then I would not be able to present the royal crest to you in proof. Yet you are breaking the vows of your people to have entered this forest and are now threatening the prince of the elfin lands. Brenton pulled out a small necklace that held a ring on it. The ring was a silver band that had the royal crest imprinted upon its surface. With his hand against his hilt, Brenton showed the shadow elf that he was who he claimed to be. Now that he had done that, Brenton sat back and waited for his companion to speak again.

Feanaro stood there still an silently wile peering at the bow men curiously as he spoke. The large elf didn't blink nor take his gaze of him for that matter, as the other elf finished feanaro sighed at the grim news. " those are bold words my young friend,FOOLISH but bold none the less.my heart aches for your losses but do you think by throwing your life away that it will make things better?. Im sure your mentors would not want that,I understand your angry an that your heart is full of the lust for vengeance but one thing my father always tought me was never act on things when you are angry, for an angry mind is a narrow mind. Think about this for a momment I am a rider, the one you are pointing your bow at is a rider one of us could stop your arrow mid flight with magic an then I assure you that what transpires after that wont be pleasant. Now this elf your are threatening to kill has told you who he was wile speaking the ancient language which im sure you know means you can not lie,an now he has presented you with the royal crest thus further proving he is who he claims" feanaro finished an let his words sink in for a momment wile he leaned his back against a counter and folded his arms across his chest an turning ever so slightly more serious his tone still friendly "so I ask you agian please lower your weapon. an I really don't want to have to ask a third time./

Link felt his mind start to grow more restless, and his throat felt like there was something stuck in it. The rider was correct, especially since the former Empire rider had proved who he was and that was noble enough for Link to feel like he should lower his weapon. So the arrow slowly lowered and Link released the tension so that the bow would not fire. It wasn't their fault that Link had been angry enough to kill and he couldn't blame them for his loss. Yet, Link was still defensive. He may not harbor revenge in his heart, but Link could not allow things to go further without answers. Finally he shifted back into his woodland form and spoke. I am not a Shadow elf, yet I am not fully convinced that you are not a part of the attack. You may be a royal member, and that is fine, but things are not determined by your blood line.

Feanaro was pleased to see the bowmen lower his weapon he did not wish for blood shed. When the intruder shifted to his woodland elf form fean raised an eye brow in curiosity, he held it for a momment as he assessed the elf wile he spoke quickly. Shifting his gaze back to Brenton who was sitting there quite calmly for a man person who just had his life threatens at bow point. Feanaro felt his mind wounder about if he could possiably learn from this rider since his own education was quite greif.feanaro was a great warrior an solider even amongst elven standards but his knowledge of as a rider was quite small. Not to mention jarkore who has had no training, makeing a mental note to speak to Brenton about this later fean spoke to the bowmen.
"thank you for lowering your bow that makes things much more plesent and less tense. Now as far as this attack you are speaking off an seem certain my friend here was a part of do , mind divulging the sequence of events that took place?."
Fean wad curious to hear what Happend to this elfs mentors an the fact that he just learned Brenton was an empire rider he wanted to see if he did intact take part in the attack. Though fean felt sure his fellow rider did not

((Lol I'm sure Brenton and Vaentr would love to help train Feanaro and Jarkore.))
Brenton watched as the weapon was lowered and he grinned. It was unlike an elf to be so adamant about things they had no proof of. Finally, Brenton spoke freely. It is true that I was once an Empire rider, yet that was a month or so ago. Vaentr and I no longer wish to be near them when they scheme so badly. Brenton looked over at Feanaro and spoke mentally. There is much you need to learn. I was never in true danger and that is why I am calm. Maybe we can discuss some rider training later in the evening. The elf moved so that he could readjust to his comfort again.

Link felt his heart stop beating as he listened to the words that the two riders were saying. For some reason he actually believed the prince and so he started with what had been taking place. With his face downcast, Link spoke. Well, I was younger when I was orphaned and arrived at the outpost. It was a very believable story for what they told me, that my parents had been killed in a raid. I later discovered that I was an orphan because of a shade that had murdered both of my parents and would have killed me if not for Epona saving me. Well, I grew up and went to the Varden for awhile. It was when I heard of the plight in Du Weldenvarden, that I rode to the forest. I decided to visit the outpost to see what had happened. When I arrived to the place, there were soldiers there in wait. They tried to kill me and I discovered that the soldiers had been forced into oaths to not reveal the reason of their mission. I searched and found no traces of the outpost. There were many blood stains all around the outpost and so I suspect that they were all slaughtered by the soldiers. Link felt his eyes mist over and he lowered his gaze to the bow that he had made with instruction from the archers. It was one of the few things he still had from them. Then he drew his short sword and examined the blade and hilt. Along the blade were the runes that had been engraved there to mark it as his blade and also the weapon of one destined for greatness. Now he felt as if the blade were a danger to him. He had killed one of the first groups of soldiers with that very blade while defending his life and then he left the outpost for several years. He still hated himself for that fate that he had left upon himself.

Brenton just stared at the forlorn elf, for he had some experience with loss and sadness. It was actually why he had his mind set to find a way to ally himself with Eragon and Arya. Brenton noticed the look that Link was giving his blades and bow. Now that Brenton was sure of what he had heard, he turned back to Feanaro and spoke to his rider companion. I am certain that he is being truthful in all of this. Do you know of any of this? And is there any chance that there is a shade in our homeland? I mean we could possibly need to rally the Elfin troops if there is. That last part was said in the confines of the minds of him and his companion. He didn't want to worry the elf that was there in front of him.

((I was hoping so I think it would be great since they both have very little training))
Feanaro listened intently at links recounting of what transpired ,as the elf spoke fean could feal the presence of someone or something tryingnto speaking to hin mentaly. Knowing there was no danger near by fean didn't resist an found it to be brenton. Curious as to what his fellow rider wished to speak about he was joyed to hear the mention of being trained to be a rider by him and his dragon. There was nondoubt he an jarkore could learn a great deal from these two. "I know you were in no danger I just did not wish to see our new guest here make a decision that could be costly to someone especially since he was not thinking straight.anger clouds the mind an blocks our better judgment, you would be willing to train me an jarkore? That is something I look forward to discussing with you.". When link finished feanaro could see the distress in the young elfs face. An at the mention of the shade feanaro parients eye narrowed in anger.
Putting a hand in the young elfs shoulder feanaro looked at the blade he held "im sorry for your losses, such hardship is not easy to recover from. The empire will pay for their crimes."
Looking at brenton as he spoke to him "I have no doubt that this is true but this isbthe first I have herd if any of this. " looking from Brenton to like feanaro knew why the last part was told in secrete "it is possiable my friend but before we raise any alarm maby we along with this elf should look into it further[/]"
Fean fell silent for a momment as he looked to his guest an shifted towards link "you know I never got your name friend. I am feanaro and my dragon is the smaller black one an his name is jarkore.I also go by another name its more of a nickname accualy but it still holds meaning,I am also called shadeslayer"

Brenton was shocked at how so much was training in his life and then he realized that it would probably be best if he did stay to train any riders that needed it. Then Brenton stopped with his silence and spoke up. Elf, I am sorry to hear all of that but it is not just you that has lost your life. I have lost my father and all of my known life for the past twelve years. If that shade is still in the forest, we will kill him and I will train you to become a shadeslayer as well, for that is one of the highest honors you can get. Yet I would also like to know your name and how you arrived here without alerting my dragon sooner. Brenton breathed normally but he was also talking to Vaentr at the same time. Vaentr, I have decided where we are most needed for the current war. It is our duty as older riders to train those who are still young. Since Jarkore is still so young, would you mind teaching him how to fly and everything that you have learned about? While that is happening we will also train Feanaro.
Vaentr rumbled in agreement and then turned to the younger dragon. Have you ever had training in the arts of flying like a regal hunter of the sky? If not I would enjoy teaching you how to do that. The giant blue dragon was still tense from the assault on the house but he was now content to know that Brenton was in no danger for his life.

Jarkore stood outside along side vaentr fealing quite uneasy at the current events taking place inside his riders home. If it wasn't for feanaro alerting him to relax the black dragon probably would have clawed his way into the house an riped the elf with the bow into shreds. As jarkore stood the tail swaying from nerves he felt vaentr touch his mind agian. Apon listening to the elder dragons question jarkore felt an enormous amount of gratitude towards vaentr for offering to teach him. "no o have not received any training in the arts of flying. Me an feanaro have tried a few things when we go out together but that is about it, I would consider it an honor to learn from one as wise as you".
Back in the house feanaro looked to link an Brenton as his fellow rider offers to hunt this shade down."I shall help as well for it is my duty as a rider to help ride this land of such bile.but it is true shades are a nasty bit of work only due to his ignorance an over confidence was I able to slay the one I did. I still have the scars as a reminder of that that, shades are evil an heartless they only want death an destruction they care for nothing an no one.an they are also amazingly fast and strong to go along with a powerfully skill set with the ancient language an magic, this will be no easy task ny friends but together I believe we can bring vengeance to the ones who were slain by this foul creature".

Link saw the two riders look at each other and then a couple minutes later Brenton spoke again. He said something about the shade and he grinned. Sorry, my name is Link and it is nice to meet both of you. I hope your dragons don't still wish to kill me. And I'm not sure if I'm ready to kill a shade. They almost always cheat in some way. Link stood up and put away his weapons.

Feanaro chuckled at the elf named links remarks about the dragons. "Fear not link jarkore now knows you are friend not foe, though he is a bit unhappy with you he does not wish to eat you any more. " draining the remaining liquid from his cup feanaro placed his mug on the counter top an for a momment studied link with a curious gaze before speaking once agian. "It is true maby you are not ready to fight a shade, but then agian no one is a shade is unlike anything you have ever faced. Not many have fought one and lived to tell the tale let alone kill one. That is why I had my scars remain an not erased with magic so they serve as a reminder. But a shade dose not really have to cheat but they will use some fourm of trickery no doubt if they feal they don't have the upper hand. I honestly survived my ordeal due to the shades arrogance more so then my own skill "
Feanaro knew this would not be a simple task an honestly he did not enjoy the idea of facing off against another shade but the idea of the challenge did appeal to him for some reason being tested in battle is something that made feanaro feal alive

Brenton nodded and waited for the end of the story of Link's life. It was rather interesting and that is what made him enjoy everything that the young elf was saying. Finally he spoke again. I am glad to hear you say that you don't think you can fight the shade yourself. Yet you have killed his men and then evaded him twice so he will want you dead in a heartbeat.
The entire time Brenton was talking, Vaentr felt the need to show his companion, Jarkore, some lessons in flying. It wasn't everything he could possibly know, but the blue dragon knew more than the smaller dragon could possibly ever know. Vaentr shot into the air and bugled in a commanding tone while still showing mental images to Jarkore. One of them was how to successfully fight like Vaentr had with Flare, the red beast who was paired with Uruale. It was a long time ago, only a few weeks in real time, yet he was still sure of the fight helping him learn how to fly.

Jarkore sat there as he watched vaentr take off into the air. His tail flicking with excitement just to fly with another if his kind jarkore received the inmates from the elder dragon and with a roar took off into the sky ass well. His wings shooting up coulda of dust from underneath him as he gains altitude. As he leveled out with vaentr he asked "so you have fought other dragons? Incredible .the skill it must take to battle in the air for both dragon an rider... I MUST learn[/color]" jarkore was anxious to be a student an learn for he knew the tine would come wear he an feanaro would have to battle.
Hearing jarkores roar feanaro walked over to his door way and peered outside with a smile "it seems jarkore an vaentr are getting along swimmingly, it is good for jarkore to finaly meet another dragon he always has just me for company. " fean spoke as he re entered the hut and takeoff ng the seat opposite Brenton an with a motion of his hand offered link a seat so that they could now discuss some things.
