Stiffening Laetri replied, "Though the Varden mean well, they do it in a crude manner. They do not usurp peace but cause war and conflict." Agaravel continued for him since his emotions were too tangled to be calm, "We may be Neutral but we sympathize with the Varden. The past conflicts between the two factions, me and my Rider have supported the Varden." Laetri then said in the binding Ancient Language, "We mean you no harm, allow us to keep camp and do not tell anyone of our existence." Laetri turned his back to them as did Agaravel as they went to the large sad hut that contained the coffin that contained his mother and her dragon. They wept and sobbed their moving on to the void.

Caspian nodded in agreement with Naomi's words. He was one of the youngest riders the varden had and Sephora certainly was the smallest dragon. However, Caspian didn't think of himself as really any more special or important than Naomi. Destier nudged Naomi after she rubbed his forehead. The black horse was nothing special, he had originally working on a farm pulling plows. His relatives were similar aside from a few that found themselves drafted into Galbatorix's army. It wasn't like he knew any of his relatives though. The horse glanced at Windkissed chasing something. He pulled slightly on his lead wanting to go join her but realizing Naomi was holding it he resigned to staying put. "Sometimes peace has a price to pay," Caspian said. What he said was actually a moral of a story he had heard as a boy from a storyteller in Cantos. "I can't promise I won't tell anyone, the Varden will need to know of you. But unlike the Empire they won't force you to join us against their will," he said. He watched them leave, unsure what to do now. Sephora watched them leave as well then glanced at Naomi for the first time since she had landed. Caspian glanced at his dragon then to Naomi. "She want's to know why you are out here and...if you were following me," he said, he seemed somewhat embarrassed by the last part. Sephora seemed to hope the Varden had sent someone to watch Caspian when he'd left alone. "I can take care of myself," he said to Sephora. "There are many dangers in the world, you can't face all of them alone and live. I won't risk losing you," she said.

Snapping around the moment they heard Caspian saying they will tell the Varden of their existence Agaravel leaped onto Sephora, her massive claws inches from her neck and Laetri jumped, landing behind Caspian Thringa in hand and on Caspian's throat.
Laetri quickly unsheathed one of his long Elven daggers and put it to the woman known as Naomi's throat as a warning. "Why must you tell the Varden of our existence?" growled Laetri and Agaravel angrily. "We do not wish to be known! Is it not enough how much we have helped the Varden before in life-threatening stages?!" they roared.
Laetri calmed himself considerably before saying, "If war has a price, then you could avoid the price. Peace is there when all else fails. Now drop your weapons lest you die."

Caspian had no time to react and move his sword to block Thringa. Laetri, was an elf, and was much faster than Caspian was even at his best. "It's my duty to, I'm sworn to help the Varden," he replied. "I am obligated to tell at least Nasuada of you, but as you've aided before I'm sure she'll keep your secret," he said. It wasn't like he'd be announcing it to the Varden just informing his leader. "I will not drop my sword as long as Agaravel is attacking my dragon!" he said obviously furious about it and ready to fight even though the elf would easily over power him. Sephora twisted around avoiding Agaravel's claws by inches. She was small but she was fast. She opened her mouth and blasted fire at Agaravel before launching herself at him trying to bite at his wings.

Laetri looked at Caspian coldly then barked a word at Sephora, causing her to stop mid-pounce. He then shook his head as he began realizing what he had done. Gasping he was able to free himself of the mind's grasp yet it left him helpless.
Laeti fell shaking and Agaravel roared protectively and covered him with her wings and tail. "Leave," gasped Laetri, "I was not myself." Shaky, he stood up and bowed to both Caspian, Sephora, and Naomi. "We apologise and we shall be on our way."
Turning their backs on them they left to the small place they can call home.
