Full Name: Kotan Milesson
Other name: N/A
Race: Half Human/Half Elf rider. (Half elves have existed before, and they are not immortal.)
Side: Varden
Birthplace: Du Weldenvarden
Age: 24, but he still appears to be 17 years old
Gender: Male
Birthday: May 7th
Eyes: Sapphire Blue
Hair: Jet black, short and close cut.
Weight: 175 lbs
Height: 6 foot
Magic User: Yes. It comes naturally to him, like a second nature. His main choice of magic is lightning magic, and pyrokinesis. While he is powerful, he is no where near as powerful as some of the riders from before the fall.
Preferred Weapon(s): Kotan’s main choice of weapon is his silver hand and a half sword. This sword is called “Argetdauthleikr”, and there is a diamond in it, that allows him to store energy into it, to use to boost his strength. This means “Silver mortal” in the ancient language. The name reflects Kotan himself, as he is mortal, unlike his elven father, and he is a “Silver lining” in the elven life. However, Kotan’s other choice of weapon is his magical abilities, and anything else within near sight. He also has an extra, normal sword, which is a Falchion. However, he uses this sword less than his Rider sword.
Appearance: Kotan’s usual attire is a blue, green or grey tunic, black pants and comfortable shoes. His battle attire is silver and black armour, with no helmet. Other than his gedwëy ignasia, Kotan has no other defining features apart from his elven features. His eyes are the normal shape of a humans, but his ears are tapered. He has medium muscles, and he is quite agile and strong, even though he is half human.
Personality: Kotan is usually very cheerful, charismatic and enthusiastic, often at inappropriate times, even when in danger. He usually keeps himself calm, as his temper, while bad, is nothing compared to what he can actually be like if truly angered. He has a very strong sense of right and wrong, and he would never be swayed from helping those less fortunate. However, Kotan is also thingyy, and he believes he should protect himself by keeping secrets. He can also be too serious sometimes. While he is afraid of death, he hides this fear, as he does not want to seem weak. The reason for his fear of death is that he is not immortal like full blooded elves, and even though he has a long life span, he won’t life forever.
Likes: Magic, wizarding duels, being a Rider and swordplay.
Dislikes: The empire, prejudice, Unjust murder, the extinction of species.
Strengths: Natural aptitude for magic, skilled swordsman, skilled wizard duellist
Weakness: Overconfident, reckless, is mainly skilled in combat magic and altering things.
Family: Can’t remember his mother, as she died at his birth, but he remembers his father, Arnando, who is an elf and over 90 years old.
Not-So-Brief History: Love between an Elf and Human has always been a difficult thing, especially when Elves are immortal to an extent. However, for Miles, an elf and Nasua, a human, their love lasted for a while. It lasted long enough for them to concieve a child. However, the strain of a half human, half elven birth was too much for Nasua, and she died after her son was born. Miles was heartbroken, but he decided he would raise his son.
Due to his elven heritage, Kotan would have a good control of magic, as most elves do. As he grew up, the magic he showed was a bit more powerful due to his human and elven heritage. However, his father did not start teaching him how to use his magic until he was 6 years old. Due to the fact he was half elf, he possessed some of the natural powerful childhood magic that full blooded elves possessed. However, this left him faster than it would full elves. While he was less powerful than full blooded elves, he made up for this by showing his natural aptitude for magic, and his father also began to teach him swordplay. He also studied hard, trying to impress the other elf children at Du weldenvarden. However, he was ostracized, because of his half elf appearance, and his heritage.
By the age of 15, even though he still looked a few years younger, Kotan joined the varden, like his father had. For five years, he increased his skills in swordplay and magic, by training most days, and studying texts about magic. However, even with all of this training, he was still a medium powerful magician, due to his human side restricting the full amount of power he could of had access to if he had been a full elf. He mainly trained in how to fight with one sword, but he also learned how to fight with two swords, in case he ever used to swords at once. While with the varden, Kotan mainly went on missions, and in his spare time trained and studied. When he turned 20, the varden were trying to see who would become the rider to a silver dragon egg they had in their possession. Kotan was brought forward, because of the fact his father Miles was a long time ally of the Varden and because of Kotan's potential with magic and swordsmanship, and as he lifted up the egg, it began to cracked. On his right palm, the gedwëy ignasia came forth, and the dragon and Kotan bonded. Due to the silvery shine of his scales, Kotan called the dragon “Arget”, the ancient language word for silver. Four years have passed since that day, and Kotan has had a sword made, similar to the sword riders before him used. Both he and Arget are powerful together, and Kotan’s features have begun to become more Elven. His father had taken this as an indication that his son may gain the immortality all riders have.

Dragon Bio
Name: Arget
Age: 4 years
Physical description: (see below)
Where they hatched: Varden Egg store
Personality: While many people see Dragons as wild animals, Arget completly contrasts this stereotype. He is an intelligent dragon, and while he soemtimes goes feral in a fight or if he is angry, he mainly keeps a stoic and calm emotional appearance up. This is due to him being bonded to Kotan, who’s cheerfulness and charisma mostly subdues the feralness of Arget. Unlike his rider, Arget has no fear of death, and will fight, even if the odds are against him.
Roleplay Sample: Kotan cracked his neck as he rode Arget across the burning plains. He had been riding Arget more and more lately, as he wanted to improve his flying skills. He was still not the best at flying, but he was getting better and better. Lately, his bond with Arget had been increasing. They were becoming more and more like one being, and not two seperate beings. Looking down at the plains, he sighed and said “The plains were once a beautiful place. Its a shame that the foresworn did this.”
Looking upon the plains made Kotan think how he was similar to this fire. While it had smuldered for forty years, Kotan was likely to live an extremly long life. Coupled with the fact he was a Dragon Rider, there was the chance he could, indeed, live forever. Most riders, when bonded for an extremly long time to their dragon, gained immortality. While they could die, if they avoided coming near death, they could, potentially, last forever. Lately, this thinking had been coming back to him most of the time.
