Sonya landed lightly on the ground, her wings kicking up dust and leaves that sparkled in the light reflecting off of her white scales. Vedrit looked around from on her back. The Spine hadn't changed much from when he had found Sonya's egg. He had met many friends, and a few enemies, since then. He slid off Sonya's back and wandered a bit. "This is where we met?" she asked, "And our story began?" Vedrit smirked, "Yes, if such words were applied." He grew up a ways away from here, deeper into the Spine, and wondered if his brothers, or even the camp that had been his home for years, were still there.

Elendrial walked through the forsaken forest of the Spine. She had heard stories of this place and how her father's people would venture through here and kill whoever got in their way. She softly touched an aging tree that seemed to stand taller than the rest.
"I wonder how much blood you have seen oh mighty protector of the forest."
Elendrial only stopped to examine the tree for a moment, and then quickly moved on, all the while having at least one hand on her sack. Her hood was back for the first time in a long time, and she felt a feeling of freedom. That's what it was, the feeling this place gave her was the feeling of freedom. She truly did not know what it meant even now but she had a feeling.
Elendrial started to sway as she walked further and further into the Spine. She seemed like a haunted child floating on nothing but air. Oh how she loved this feeling; she never wanted it to leave. Yet as she danced through the forest, a seemingly familiar smell filled her nostrils.
A dragon?
She immediately stopped dancing and checked her pouch, the egg was still there.
There must be another.
As soon as this thought came to mind, she heard footsteps. Quickly she pulled the hood of her cloak over her head and crouched down behind a tree. She pulled her knife out of her boot and waited for the stranger to come closer.

Sonya heard the footfalls before Vedrit realized he heard them. He looked around. He knew the forest well, and could hide easyly, if he needed to. He pulled out his bow, strung it, and knocked an arrow in the direction of the steps. "Come out slowly, or you may find an arrow in your chest." He called out. He had no idea how far the person was, but close enough for an arrow to kill, where ever it landed. "And if the arrow doesnt find you, my dragon will." he added the extra threat, but would use magic before endangering Sonya. He kept his mind guarded incase the intruder was a magician

Elendrial's heart raced.
I knew it had to be a dragon.
What she did not know was what side they were on so she still needed to take precautions. Quietly she slipped around the stranger and sprang out of the bushes. Quickly a knife was to his neck.
"Who do you belong to?"
Her voice was demanding and could not be told from a woman or man's voice.

Sonya growled. "I belong to no one. My life is my own. Who do you pledge to?" he asked, surprised that the knife was put into place so quickly. "You must be an elf, to move so fast." he observed

Elendrial opened her senes to the world around her. The dragon would attack if she harmed him, so she had to be ready to move. "I serve no one and yes you are right, I am and elf. However I do believe you are wrong in the sense that you serve no one. I belive you are a lier." Her voice still was unrecognizable yet she was afraid that her sent would be given away to the dragon. Even with the beast watching, she still held the knife to the stranger's throat. (OOC: If you think im godmoding just say. )

(Yeah, I kinda think you are XP) "And who would I serve? The ruthless Empire, or the miscreant Varden?" he said through clenched teeth. "I serve no one." he told her in the Ancient Language, "And I suggest you let me go, or we will all die here." he told her

(Sorry. You can get out of her clutches though. When i say that i stick the knife to your neck, you could say and he dogdes out of the way. So really I'm not. Sorry bout it though. :/ )
"Then let us die if we must. It would be far better to die here than to live out in the world we call home."
Her voice had changed even deeper and with a slight hiss sound to it. Her whole being seemed to feel as if it were turning evil. Sensing this, she pulled the knife away from the stranger's neck and moved in front to examine him.
Hmm. He is interesting. What am I thinking? He could be the one who killed my father for all I know. I'm so foolish.
"Tell me then, what is your name you stranger who serves yourself and where have you traveled from?"
Elendrial always spoke far beyond her years, but truthfully her personality was that of a child's. She had never been taught how to grow up or even how to act when she was a child. All she ever knew was how to fight, use magic and kill dragons. Yes she learned how to kill and gut a dragon, however, she chose to dismiss this from her mind. A dragon seemed like to great a creature to kill and make extinct.

He examined the stranger and hid his surprise when saw it was a female. "Vedrit, and I come travel from many places. What would your name be?" he said as he unstrung his bow and Sonya came closer to smell the stranger. "She has an egg." Sonya told him, which added to his surprise, some of it showing in his eyes. "And what are you doing here?" he asked

(OOC: She will not tell you her real name yet. This is her "traveling" name.)
"I am Verya and my business is my own."
Elendrial had grown thingyy as she talked to this stranger named Vedrit. She had grown thingyy enough to talk to the rider's dragon.
Hello my dear dragon. And what may your name be?
After she said this, she realized her mistake. It was one of the rudest and worst things you could do to a rider and his dragon.
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! What was I thinking?
For the first time she looked up into Vedrit's eyes. They seemed mysterious from her point of view, perhaps hiding something. She smiled for it was like her. Secrets, one of the greatest things that destroys countries, families, lives and yet it sometimes healed. Her brother and father had taught her this. Although her brother's had been to protect her, while her father's was just to destroy. When she glanced back at Vedrit, a sudden falshback occured to her. He reminded her of her brother, Sephiroth and at this she broke.
"I'm sorry."

Sonya snorted her anger at being contacted directly. "You are lucky you hold an egg, or I would kill you here." she told "Verya". Vedrit raised an eyebrow when she said sorry. 'She is a strange elf.' he commented to Sonya. "Nice to meet your acquaintance, Verya." he said as politely as cold steel, since he doubted she were telling him her real name. "Where did you find it?" he asked. It would very strange if she found the egg here, in the Spine, in the same general area as when Vedrit found Sonya's egg.

Elendrial bowed her head toward the dragon in a sign of apology and complete surrender.
"I...I stole it. Well it's more like I should have rightfully inherited it but they wanted it and would've have tortured it to become a slave for them. I couldn't let that happen. And please, please tell your dragon that I am sorry. I..I just wasn't thinking."
He seemed cold and harsh toward her. Should she tell him who she is? Should she risk it? Not yet.
Elendrial pulled out the wrapped egg within her sack.
"It was my father's and it wouldn't hatch for him and when he died I took it. I am afraid to touch the egg. I...I don't want it to not hatch for me."
Elendrial looked at Vedrit with the look of a child, an innocent child who is searching for a place to belong.

He went to the egg, admiring the flawless color. "Why would you not want such a grand creature and friend hatch?" he asked.
"You are forgiven. Be cautious next time." Sonya told her, studying the girl and egg, "Who is to say it will hatch for you anyway? It may just as likely not hatch."
An emotion snagged at Vedrits heart as he thought through the time he had spent with Sonya. She was his constant companion. She knew what he did, knew which path to take when his judgment was clouded. She was almost his lover. He looked up at the girl, "I hope the egg hatches for you. You will be glad aswell, sometime down the road. You will be in a similar situation as myselfand you will realize the same I have come to realize." he told her solemnly

Elendrial smiled faintly and examined the unwrapped egg. She feared that if she touched it, it wouldn't hatch for her at all. Being let down was one of her greatest fears. The elf stood and watched Vedrit for a couple of seconds. He was the only outsider she had ever talked to and even though he talked coldly to her, she didn't want him to leave her.
"Where are you on your way to?"
She acted shy and almost wishful that he wouldn't abandon her like all of the other people in her life.

He shrugged, "Since there are no ties to bind me, I go where ever I please." he said, then leaned against Sonya, who had moved to behind him, "And she doesnt mind, so long as we fly and eat well enough." he said, "Are you going to any particular place." He didnt really expect an answer, since she didnt even tell him what she was doing in the Spine.

"I am on a road traveling to nowhere. I go wherever."
Her voice was quivering, giving away that she was lieing. Truthfully she was running, running from the Empire.
Why would the world I have grown up in want to hunt me down?
This thought had come to her many times. It just didn't seem right. Perhaps it was because she had stolen the egg, but how did they know. It was a question that she hoped she would never be answered, because if it was that would mean that she would have been captured.
Elendrial moved over to the white dragon that was the friend of Vedrit. This was the first time she had examined the majestic beast. She bent a knee to and bowed before the beast.
"I bow to no one but a dragon."

Vedrit smirked and chuckled, "Dont flatter her too much." he joked, which rewarded with a stern look from Sonya. "Rise. I am Sonya." she told Verya.
Vedrit heard the quiver in her voice, but decided not to pursue. If she wanted to weave lies, that was her choice. He Believed that honesty was the fastest way to earn friends and allies, lies for enemies and war.

Elendrial smiled after what Vedrit said.
"Thank you dear dragon."
She turned toward Vedrit and tripped over a root and fell on her face. Her pouch flew in front of her, spilling all of the contents. The egg rolled out and the wrap fell off and a necklace with a strange symbol that resembled Galbatorix's. The elf jumped up and searched for all of the objects. She couldn't let Vedrit see who she was or else she was sure he would kill her. In a hurry she accidently grabbed the egg that was now unwrapped. The dragon sensed her panic and felt like it needed to help her.
Feeling the movement of the egg, Elendrial dropped it and feel to the ground crying. She was so scared that she couldn't find the necklace and she could possibly die and now her dragon was hatching. The emotions overwhelmed her and she just sat there on the forest floor with her hood over her head. She wanted everything to go away.

He watched the necklace fly, but didnt recognize the symbol. When she couldnt find it, he picked it up for her and watched, amazed, as she dropped the bare egg. It seemed to fall in slow motion. He looked at her, "Is everything alright?" he asked, though they obviously werent. "It hatches." Sonya told them. He walked to Verya and knelt by her, "You should be the first thing your dragon sees when it enters this world." he told her, a gentle hand on her back

Elendrial looked up at Vedrit with watering eyes and nodded her head. She slowly crawled over to the hatching egg and took it in her hands. This was it, it was hatching and not just for anyone, but for her. This was the first time in a long time that she did not feel along. Usually she felt that the whole world was against but at this very time everything seemed to be okay as she watched this dragon hatch. It was surprisingly not covered in the slime and goo that most animals are when they hatch, but he seemed to have a soft scaly feature.
"You actually chose to hatch for me."
She gazed down upon the little hatchling and smiled for the first time in a long time. They would now be connected and she would never have to be alone. Slowly she reached out and touched the dragon on the head. As soon as her hand touched its scales, a sharp spark spread through her body and made her pass out.
