"Dont blame him," Sonya said to her, "His life has been...difficult for him, and emotions only make things worse, in his opinion."
Adding no comment, Vedrit started a fire the slow way; flint and steel, flicking sparks into the dry leaves. He seemed cold, crouched over the fire pit, his back facing Elendrial. He trusted Sonya to explain what he let be, without saying too much. Even when a fire was licking away at the sticks, Vedrit only backed away from the fire enough so he wouldn't get burned as it grew

Elendrial nodded at Sonya as the dragon explained Vedrit's reasoning. She moved toward the fire to examined her wounds. It had grown dark now the elf hadn't even seen the extent of the damage the creatures had done to her. She was bleeding in a few places and her body was sore. Shadowen had used magic and it had taken both their energy but more so hers. Elendrial sat down and tried to heal her wounds but she was still to weak. In the morning she should be able to but for now she'd have to suffer through the pain. Quietly she stroked Shadowen's head and watched Vedrit with the fire in front of her.

Sonya, glad El didn't leave, glad for Vedrits sake.
As El sat down beside him, he got up and mumbled he would get more wood, which was mostly true, since there was little more than sticks lying about.
"Give him time. He only just met you." Sonya said, laying down behind El. Though Sonya didn't particularly like El, Sonya felt a slight and small bond between herself and the elf

Elendrial smiled and curled up next to the dragon. Shadowen crawled up next to her and snuggled with her.
"Sonya, you really love Vedrit don't you? I don't want to take him away from you. I'm sorry."
The elf started to cry, for a reason unknown. It was loud sobs but a quiet flow of tears. So much has happened in her life, only if something could go right.

Sonya snaked her head infront of Els, "I am his dragon, he is my Rider. No one, nothing, could separate us." she said, 'And all we will ever be.' she thought to herself. She did love Vedrit, but he was an elf, she a dragon. There would never be, could never be, anything more than emotions. "If you can tame him, you can have him." she said to El with a giggle.
After a while, Vedrit came back, his arms laden with logs. He didn't say anything, and avoided eye contact.

Elendrial smiled at Sonya's comment. There was something she like about this dragon, something she liked a lot. She seemed motherly and sisterly at the same time. The sound of footsteps forced Elendrials attention on Vedrit. He had come back from fetching wood and hadn't even glanced at her.
What have I done?
Shadowen flashed the picture of the white flowers again, except this time they were covered in tears. Elendrial pushed the image out of the way and looked up at the night sky. The stars sparkled brightly here unlike Helgrind. In fact, nothing sparkled in that place. She turned over and faced Vedrit.
"Goodnight Vedrit. I...I'm sorry."
She rolled back over and fell asleep in between her hatchling and Vedrit's white dragon.

He set the wood down as Sonya glared at him. "What?" he asked, though he knew full well what she was glaring at him about. He sighed, "You know I cant. Things would become...different. Besides, I just met her. What if her emotions are wrong?" he looked away from her, "What if mine are wrong?" he whispered. Sometimes he cursed his brothers for raising him secluded from the world, and sometimes he blessed them for it. He couldn't tell which he would do for this. "Atleast tell her you dont hate her." she told him, "I dont think that the emotions of either of you are wrong." Vedrit said nothing for a moment. He knew he could trust her judgment, but...he just didn't want to

Shadowen crawled out from underneath Elendrial's arm and moved toward Vedrit. He had grown even over the day but he was still small enough to be carried. He flashed the same picture of white flowers to Vedrit. Then a picture of Elendrial. Last he showed those white flowers covered in blood. The innocent dragon stared up into Vedrit's eyes almost as if telling him something. Again and again he flashed the white flowers covered in blood and then them as white as snow. They meant something, each picture did.

He sighed as the images flashed into his mind, "Shadowen, show them to Sonya. She'll know what you mean. I think I'll go for a walk." he said left, leaving the two dragons and the sleeping El alone. He just didn't want to deal with that stuff. The cool air was comforting and familiar, and he enjoyed it.
Sonya looked to Shadowen, "You have much ahead of you." she said to him, "I hope you and your young Rider can handle it." she knew that El wasn't really young, but she didn't seem to have learned the hard lessons life had to teach her. "What were those again?" she asked, meaning the images he showed to Vedrit

Shadowen flashed them to Sonya, over and over again. He did the same with Vedrit even thought the elf had walked away. The young dragon didn't know what they fully meant but he had an idea and the one he wanted to understand was Vedrit. Shadowen was young now and not old enough to fully protect his rider so he needed Sonya and Vedrit's help. Finally the young dragon stopped the pictures and snuggled up next to Elendrial. He opened her mind up to Vedrit and Sonya, it was the only way they could understand what she has dealt with.
(ooc: respond to the begining and then say something like "Vedrit watched Elendrial's dreams" if you want....if not its ok but shadowen will show you her "past" and the nightmare shes having....if you dont like it, its ok.

Vedrit closed his mind to Shadowen, wanting to be left alone for a while.
Sonya, however, watched as Els dreams were shown to her, saw the nightmares that plagued her sleep, but didn't interfere; it wasn't her place. She wished she knew what images Shadowen showed her meant, and would puzzle them out later

Elendrial dreamed of her worst nightmare, her father and the day he hurt her more than anything else.
Elendrial locked her door and used magic to push a heavy stone chair in front of the door. She knew it couldn't keep him out but she had to try. Quickly she ran out of the room and on to the balcony. There was no way to escape for her room was almost the highest point in the fortress and it was miles away from the ground. She scampered behind a thick pillar and crouched down in the shadow of it.
Footsteps echoed through the halls just outside her door. A booming voice called out her name and cursing it with each breath. Magic sent the door flying open and making the chair shatter into little pebbles.
"Elendrial you wretched girl where are you?"
The elf coward in fear. Her magic and sword play was much weaker than his and surely he would kill her. What she had done wrong she did not know, however when he was mad, she ran.
The footsteps moved closer to her and then abruptly stopped. The sound of a sword unsheathing could be heard. Elendrial knew what that meant. His blade was a poison blade that would slowly kill off his enemies. It was a horrible form of torture that only the cruelest use. The poor girl sat there, tears streaming down her face. Why her? Why did she have to be born here? Why couldn't she have a good family?
A hand moved into the shadows and grabbed Elendrial by the hair. It yanked her up from the ground and pulled her to her feet.
"I swear I will kill you right now."
He smiled and laughed at her fear. She squirmed and wriggled trying to shake free of his grip but it was no use. His blade pierced all down the side of her right leg.
Elendrial bolted awake screaming in pain and fear. She jumped up and ran. She was panicking. Shadowen ran after her and tried to comfort her. Eventually she fell to the ground of exhaustion. She just laid there and cried.

"VEDRIT! Sonya yelled, blasting through his mental barriers, and showed him the direction El ran, and dashed off. He didn't know what to do when he found her, but knew Sonya wanted him to.
It didn't take him long to find El. He slowed down as he approached and saw her crying, laying on the ground. His heart trembled for her, and he kneeled next to her, not knowing how to comfort her. He placed a hand on her back, hoping Shadowen would come to comfort his rider. He sighed. His brothers had never been like this, and he never had any reason to be like this, so he never learned what to do nor what it was like. He cast his mind questioningly to Sonya who only told him to do something. He gently lifted her so she could rest, or cry, whichever, in his lap

((OOC: awww he can be sweet. Notice I said can be. Right after he crushed her heart. Lolz. Oh and Shadowen is running as fast as his little legs can carry him. hehe))
Shadowen sent a picture of comfort to Elendrial. To Vedrit he showed the white flowers again only this time they were trampled to the ground. He wanted so hard to tell the elf what they were, but that would have to wait. The little dragon nuzzled Elendrial's hand and let her know that he was there for her.
Elendrial clung to Vedrit for dear life. Her tears eventually subsided and she fell asleep in his arms.
Vedrit if only you could know.
She was so weak that her thought leaked into his mind.

Vedrit never felt as awkward as he did then. Not only was El asleep in his arms, after she had been crying, but thinks he figured out what the images Shadowen sent him meant. Even if he was right, that didn't make things better.
"A stubborn life you lead." Sonya told Vedrit, knowing he still won't tell El how he feels, "Do you think you are unworthy of her love? She yours? Do you fear that you telling her will put us all in danger? Why do you do this to her?" she asked. She was fed up with this. Sonya knows Vedrit loves Elendrial, but he refuses, hides it, and makes things worse because of it

Elendrial stirred in Vedrit's arms. She was cold and weak from the happenings of the day; all she wanted was peace but alas, she could find neither in the world or her dreams. Her eye lids slowly opened and she found herself being held by Vedrit. She clung to him like he was her protector.
"Vedrit. Can we go back to the fire?"
Her voice was weak and shaky. It was soft though and had the innocence of a child. Shadowen nugded Vedrit as if to tell him "let's go." This time though he flashed a picture of the flower being held by Vedrit. He was twirling it in his arms and laughing. The dragon stared up at Vedrit and waited for the elf to move.

Vedrit stood, supporting El, an arm wrapped around her waist, since he wasnt sure if he should carry her. The picture Shadowen showed him was...disturbing, for lack of better word, if the meaning Vedrit thought he had was applied.
The fire had died down and was little more than a few fickle flames licking the remains of sticks. Vedrit set El down next to Sonya and added more wood to the fire, the bed of coals quickly lighting the fresh wood. Soon a good-sized fire was burning again, and Vedrit took a seat across the fire from El, staring into the fire

Elendrial looked across at the elf. He appeared tired and weary yet strong and watchful.
"You should get some rest. Tomorrow will be a better day."
She waited to see if he would even stir at her words. He looked like a statue gazing into the fire, watching and waiting for something to happen.
Shadowen brushed up against Vedrit and then moved over to Elendrial. He curled up beside her and fell fast alseep.

Vedrit looked up at El's words, but then back into the fire. When she finished he sighed. "Sorry about earlier." he said quietly, "I didn't mean to be overly rude, or rude at all..." he paused for a moment, unable to decide what to say, "Its just that...somethings are...hard for me." There, he said it. Sonya would no longer be able to pester him about it.
Sonya looked to El, wondering how she would take it, satisfied at Vedrits words.

Elendrial smiled and looked over to him. Life seemed to be hard for him and Sonya seemed to be the only thing holding him together, or so it appeared. She crawled over to him and sat next to him.
"I forgive you. I'm sorry I was so direct. I don't know what came over me. There was no reason for me to ask."
She dropped her head and twiddled a piece of grass between her fingertips.
