Vedrit didn't say anything for a while as he thought the day over.
"It's alright, " he said, "I..." he began, but couldn't bring himself to say "love you.", instead he said "dont blame you for asking, since I'm such a catch." he turned his moment of discomfort into a joke, wondering if El would play along as Sonya rolled her eyes.
He nudged El with his shoulder after his joke, wondering what to do next

Elendrial laughed at his joke. She liked seeing a more relaxed version of him because it made him appear even more like Sephiroth and made her feel safe.
"So you think you are that good looking huh?"
She smiled up at him.
"Vedrit...I've lived through alot and I want to change my life. I know I can't change my past but and what my father did but I don't want to repete his life. I want to make a difference but I suppose everyone does. Vedrit...I want to make that difference and see the world with....with you by my side."
She quickly looked down to the grass waiting for his response.

Vedrit hoped she wouldn't bring that up till later, but there it was.
He blushed slightly.
"Say it." Sonya told him, knowing what he might say.
Vedrit sighed and closed his eyes, "I...I'll be there." he said in a hushed voice.
Sonya smiled at him, proud he had gotten as close to telling El how he felt as he did.

Elendrial smiled and moved closer to Vedrit. She rested her on his shoulder and stared into the fire.
"I think it's time we get some rest. We should feel refreshed in the morning."
She ran her fingers through his hair. Very few guys had hair she liked but she loved his.
Elendrial stood up and walked over to Shadowen who was now sound asleep. He had definitly grown in the last couple of hours. She curled up next to him.
"Goodnight Vedrit."

Vedrit nodded as El fell asleep, and Sonya looked at him, "Coming?" she asked.
Vedrit sighed, "In a moment." he said and stared into the fire.
In a matter of hours, his life had changed, once again, and he didn't know where this new road would lead him.
He layed down, not leaving the spot he had been sitting in, and Sonya rested her head on one of her paws and fell asleep as Vedrit entered the meditation-like state elves knew instead of sleep.

Elendrial awoke feeling refreshed and re-energized. She healed her wounds and stood up stretching. The fire had died out and smoke and ash rose above. She breathed on the wood and a new fire appeared. The woods seemed more welcoming and peaceful now than they had the night before. It had a sense of belonging and safety.
The elf turned to where Shadowen had fell asleep, but the dragon was no where to be seen.
Shadowen. Shadowen where are you?
The dragon flashed a picture of a small brook not far off. Quickly the elf ran to her dragon. He had found the water and was drinking alot. Elendrial laid down next to the dragon and examined the bright blue sky above her. She wondered about her and Vedrit's conversation last night.

Vedrit woke when El rekindled the fire and watched her walk away, wondering where she was going when he noticed Shadowen was gone.
Sonya looked at Vedrit, "You do not greet this morning well." she said, feeling his emotions through their link. He was still uncomfortable, nervous, and unsure from last night. A ting of regret poked at him.
'If I had never come here...' he thought to himself as he sat up, dusting himself off.
"Fate pulls us where we need to go, whether its for the good of the body, the mind, or the heart." Sonya told him, "She can comfort your heart more than I" she hid a few emotions from Vedrit that her own words caused her to feel.

Elendrial called out Vedrit's name.
"Vedrit, where are you."
She did her best to send a mental image but it was blurry. She had been trained harder magic but the simple things, she could not do. Shadowen showed the same picture, only his was clear. She waited there to see if Vedrit would come, or stay away for awhile.

Vedrit looked to Sonya, not wanting to go, asking if she would.
She growled but got up and went to El.
"Yes?" she asked when she got there, annoyed at having to do things for Vedrit.
She nodded a good-morning to Shadowen.
Vedrit put a bit more wood on the fire as he thought about the sudden changes his life had taken and the "ifs".
He sighed, the regret nagging him with "ifs" of its own.

Elendrial was suprised when Sonya showed up.
"Oh, did Vedrit send you?"
She sat up and watched the white dragon.
"Sonya did I mess up? Did I do something wrong?"

Sonya layed down next to El, "He wasn't exactly ready for that little exchange of words last night. You must give him time to get used to you and the emotions that follow." she said, "The more you push him, the farther away he gets."
Sonya truly wanted them both to be happy, but wouldn't directly interfere, just give guidance and council, with the occasional push.
Not even a day had passed, and El was trying to do what many didn't try till weeks after knowing Vedrit. She chuckled, 'Elves. They are as much a slave to their emotions as humans'[/color] she thought humorously to herself.

Elendrial pondered her thoughts and all that had happened.
"Sonya, will you help me? Will you help me mend the relationship of a friend that I might have damaged? I can't do it on my own. Shadowen would help but you are Vedrit's dragon. I need your help so will you?"
Elendrial looked up at the dragon with big eyes like a child asking for help on something important to them. Shadowen moved next to Elendrial and looked up at Sonya as well. The young dragon brushed against Sonya's mind. It was a nudge more like almost as if he was asking her to help as well. He showed the picture of Vedrit again and then of a ripped white flower. He wished to tell what it meant but he knew that they would figure it soon enough.

Sonya grumbled, "Just give him time and avoid anything relating to love, marriage, or children. When he is ready to show you his feelings, he'll let you know in his own way. It is not, would not, be my place to tell you anything I have not learned on my own or he has allowed me to know and share." she paused, "He holds his past and his emotions very close. Any intrusion by someone he is unsure about is an intrusion into his soul, the very core of his being. Tread carefully." and that is as far as she was willing to go as far as help. She, herself, was tied into these securities, and had to protect them just as much

Elendrial took Sonya's comments personal. She knew the dragon was giving advice but Elendrial had never been one to take advice not even if she asked for it. She was stubborn like her father even though she hated it. The elf jumped off and ran deeper into the forest. What was she thinking.
I'm so stupid! Why did I open my mouth? Why? Why don't I ever watch what I say? That's why Sephiroth left. That's why he left Helgrind. It was because of me.
She leaned against a tree and slid down to the ground and put her head in her hands.

Sonya watched El run off into the forest.
"She is too brash and hasty." she said as she returned to Vedrit.
"Well?" Vedrit asked when Sonya returned.
"An interesting couple you two make." she said
Vedrit scoffed at it, "An odd couple I make with anyone." he said, feeling it to be atleast somewhat true

((OOC: Sorry but what Vedrit said made me laugh))
Shadowen was left alone by the brook. He pondered whether to follow Elendrial or not and decided he would. He found the elf sitting against a tree with her head in her hands. He moved over toward her and made a sort of cough noise to get her attention. He startled her and she jumped when she looked up.
"Look at you. Without a care in the world."
Shadowen scoffed and flashed a picture of him comforting her as if to show that he had her to worry about. She patted his head and rubbed his neck.
"Of course little one, of course. Well I think I'm going to try to make it up to everyone. Will you come with me?"
Shadowen turned his head like a curious dog.
"You'll see. I think you will like it."
Elendrial turned off to travel a little farther into the forest listening intently to their surroundings. A small noise in a bush was followed by a quick movement from hand to bow to arrow to bow again and then a quick flash into the animals heart. It was a dear, small but significant.
"Shadowen you and Sonya can have this, well if Sonya will eat it. I on the other hand detest meat and I'm sure Vedrit does as well so stand guard here and I will find fruit."
The elf searched the ground for anything but came up empty. Finally she decided to climb the trees. She did eventually find some type of edible fruit. Quickly she loaded the deer onto her back and carried it back to their small camp site.
"I'm sorry Sonya for the way I fled. I don't know if you've eaten yet but I killed this deer for you and Shadowen. He is not old enough to hunt yet but he will be soon. Vedrit, I brought you some fruit."
She gave him the small portion she had found even though her stomach hurt from hunger. It had been days since she had a proper meal but she wanted to give it to him as a peace offering.

Vedrit and Sonya both nodded their thanks.
Vedrit didn't eat much and offered what he didn't back to El, since she had had a rougher past day or so.
Sonya, on the other hand, let Shadowen eat his fill before eating the carcass in one, large, bite.
"Just remember my advice." Sonya said, accepting El's apology, and Vedrit was left wondering about what El and Sonya had talked about.

Elendrial gladly took the fruit back from Vedrit and quickly ate it. She ate like a little kid who was eating their favorite food.
"Vedrit, where do you think we will go this time? I don't think we can hide in the Spine forever."
She looked up at him expecting him to answer. She wouldn't talk about their little ordeal that happened yesterday. For once in her life she took someone's advice. It was hard for her because of how stubborn she is.
Shadowen's stomach was satisfied completely. This was the first time the little dragon had eaten a real meal and it tasted good. So good in fact, that he decided to take a short nap. He curled up next to Elendrial's feet and fell asleep.
You silly little dragon. You won't get much done if you sleep all of the time.
Shadowen made a humph noise and blocked his mind.
You're a little monster, you know that.
She kneeled down and rubbed the little dragon's neck.
I love you.
She kissed his head and left him in peace to sleep.
