((OOC: YES! I get to start the new page for once. Btw the person who asked you who you was, was my mom. Don't say anything unless I say it's okay on Arget because she will get mad. Lol. If it says I'm on, I'm not. It's on two other computers. I will tell you on here if I'm on or not. Have a good day! )) Elendrial nodded and looked down at Shadowen. She could see his stomach rise and fall as he breathed. "Vedrit you may leave if you wish. I don't want to hold you back. Go, return to the skies, you and Sonya for that is where you belong. Maybe one day we will see each other again as soon as Shadowen can fly. I will miss you though." She looked up and smiled at him. Surely he had longed to go back up to the skies and fly with Sonya. Right now they only way Elendrial could fly was on the back of her horse. Horses were the common man's dragon.

"We can fly while we all leave." Sonya said, "I promise you won't be holding us back." "I said I would always be there for you," Vedrit told El, "I don't intend on going back on my word." For Vedrit, this had become a matter of honor and accountability, things he believed made someone a person. Without them, there would be no civilizations, and the people, even the dragons, of Alagesia would be nothing more than glorified brutes.
"Do you have any where you intend on going?" Vedrit asked after a moment of pause.

Elendrial thought a moment about Vedrit's question. She really had not thought about where to go or what to do, all she thought about was fleeing from Helgrind.
"Thank you for keeping your word. There is only one other person in this world that is as honest as you. If only I could find him. As for traveling, I have never thought of where to go. I just wanted to flee. It isn't safe for me there and never will be again, unless I do take my father's throne."
She thought about the last sentence she had spoken. Would she really take her father's throne or was it just a possibility.
"Vedrit, what do you think the Varden are like? The only stories I have ever heard have been those told by the Empire. They told me that we won the war against the great rider Eragon and that he surrendered. Everyone was told that. Did the Empire really win?"
She was all of the sudden filled with questions.

During his travels, Vedrit had come into contact with the Varden, and had heard such rumors. "At their most basic, the Varden is just people who want to do more than simply flee the Empire. That must be understood before anything else can be said." He paused to let his words sink in before continuing, "To my understanding, the Varden, and Varden sympathizers, believe the Empire commits acts of tyranny and unforgivable acts cruelty. But I am also sure the Empire believes that the Varden is causing trouble in an otherwise harmonic society. Sometimes, yes, the Varden commits cruel acts, but they do it believing that it is necessary to end further suffering." Vedrit took a moment to gather his thoughts, which had gone down paths of pure opinion, and to consider El's last question. "No, I don't believe Eragon surrendered. If he had, the Empire would have destroyed the Varden, or the Varden would have done something to equally damage the Empire. The Varden is the best alternative to the Empire, if sides must be chosen." Vedrit looked El in the face, "I have it, from good sources, that the Empire is either already scared, or is quickly becoming so, and will do anything to gain some sort of loyalty from the people."
He looked to the sky, "A battle wages, not faught with swords or magic. Not even a battle of pride, simply for the right of one group to say they were better or another to say they were right. It is a battle beyond eternity. The weapons are minds, the ability to out think the opposition, and a step beyond. For the Varden, the step is to get the people to realize what their ruler is doing, judge whether it is for the best, and, if it is not, then to do something about it. For the Empire, in my opinion, to keep the people in the dark to the greater machinations of the world around them. Each side has their strategies, their own weapons, their own, distinct, advantages. Be careful of who you support, and who you hinder." and with that, Vedrit finished his answer, hiding his surprise at how much he had said, and felt the satisfaction from Sonya at the spoken words

Elendrial pondered each statement that Vedrit had made. Her confusion about which side to join grew to an even greater amount. This was the most he had ever spoken since they met. It surprised her.
"Vedrit, I'm not honestly sure what to do. I am destined to follow after my father but I do not wish to. If I am destined to follow him do you think it can be changed? I fear that Galbatorix will steal Shadowen. I could never let that happen. That is why I am running. I'm running from my destiny, my destiny that I don't want."
She cuddled with her dragon almost as if he would be taken at any moment. She loved him more than anyone, even more than she loved Vedrit, but wasn't that what it is supposed to be?

Vedrit thought for a moment. "What is your destiny, and how were you bound to it?" he asked. There were ways, he heard, of reversing oaths made in anger or hatred. He himself didn't know such ways, but was sure they existed.
"The path to choose will show itself in time." Sonya said

Elendrial tried to remember how she was bound to it.
"I am bound by blood and by forced oath. I feared my father so I took the oath but I am bound by blood. My brother should be the real heir yet he ran off while I was young. You remind me of him, I think that is why I trust you. Although I shouldn't trust Sephiroth for he lied to me. He told me that he would return for me but he did not. That was 10 years ago. How I wish there was a way I could at least know if has died. I love him so much."
She gazed off into the distance remembering memories.

Vedrit thought for another moment, disregarding El's last few sentences. "We may need to go to the spell weavers in Ellesmera. They may lend us aid."
"We know where we must go, and the day is young. Let us go." Sonya said, doing a bad job at hiding her anxiety to leave. She was tired of these woods already, and wanted to see how the vast forests of Du Weldenvarden had changed since their last visit. Vedrit nodded, agreeing, then looked to El, "Well? Should we go?" he asked

A huge smile formed on Elendrial's face.
"Yes let us go! I will ride on Fira along with Shadowen. Fira is a fast horse. He is an elven horse; my father had stole him from a group of them. I believe it was a group of elves that actually was traveling through the Spine. Let us be off now. I can not wait to see the place of my ancestors."
Her whole being was excited to leave. Finally maybe she would fit in somewhere, somewhere she truly belonged.
