Of course he knew things didn't just do that. The elf was being very elfish. All not humorous and not cheerful. Cold logic vs colder wit. That was how it was going to be. Wikvaya raised his eyebrow at the dice game suggested. Immediately, several strategies and even more ways of cheating flowed through his mind. But it would seem that those were not necessary.
His eyes flashed as Emily brought out her own rubies.
Those were pretty....

Vedrit saw, in a single instant, just how events would play out. If the werecat doesnt get its paws on the star ruby dice now, then it will certainly try to get them later, bringing everything full circle.
Regardless, Vedrit bowed to Emily 'Thank you. I'm sure the dwarf would be more than grateful." and accepted the dice, "though I am curious as to what bring you to Surda. I recall mention of making a visit to my kin."

Emily nodded, "Your welcome." His next question made her sigh, "Might as well tell the truth." She mumbled. Taking a step back, her face turned from smiley to a grimace, "Well....You know I'm from the empire, right? Well, Galbatrox told me, more like commanded me, to go count the dwarfs so that way he knows how many men to send for a sneak attack on the next full moon, which is in 30 days."
She told the truth, and all of it. It's not like Galbatrox said she couldn't spill her guts to an elf that could kill her with the flick of his wrist, "And after this, I'm visiting a friend of mine, but I guess he can wait, I know hes alive...So after this I should be getting home, to the elves of course." Yes, she considered the elves home to be her own home. "That is my plans, unless I die within the next few days..." More like minutes. Void stated silently.

Wikvaya, taking advantage of the ignoring of himself, quickly shifting back into cat form. He licks his paw, circling between Emily's legs like a guard cat. Guard cat, you may ask? Damn right guard cat. He could vaguely sense her discomfort, and the fact that she assumed she would die in the near future. And, though he disliked the Empire and its snideness, she wasn't snide. She, at the very least, didn't have her dragon eat him and somewhat, in an indirect way, shielded him from capture.
So he owed her, didn't he?
He reached out with his consciousness. What's your game, spilling your plans like this?"

Vedrit sighed aswell. Being form the Empire was one thing, but actually doing the Emporors dirty work was another. He had nothing against Emily, ofcourse. Galbatorix had his ways of forcing loyalty, all elves knew as much.
"Your honesty will not go unpunished. I cannot allow you to report to Galbatorix, but I have to wish to kill you. Instead, I will have to insist we travel together, and no where near Uru Baen. I will not risk the saftey of those who support the Varden, not while my honor is bound to them." Vedrit said in all seriousness, which caught Sonya offguard, "I will leave in your hands whether or not you wish to cooperate."
"You must be joking. Companions? And Riders nonetheless." she said, leaving the still simmering dwarves.
'She can return to Galbatorix after the full moon and the dwarves have been warned. If he demands why she did not tell him what he wanted, when he wanted, she could, even in the Ancient Language, tell him she was detained by an elf Rider. She does not have to specify whether it was magically or just physically.' he explained to his dragoness.

Emily's eyes where wide. She was going to be forced to travel with a rider, a Varden rider, an elf varden rider. Could be worse... Void stated bluntly, but that didn't help Emily with her surprise at his command. She looked down at Wikvaya, who was in cat form, circling between her legs.
She had a sudden urge to pick him up, but refused. Instead, she looked at the elf and smiled, "Whatever you say, mister....???" She had never gotten the elves name. She grinned down at Wikvaya again, "You really are weird." You could tell she was still tense. She was never used to being around Varden for so long, and she didn't how she was going to stand being near a Varden, an elf for that matter, for a month.
She connected minds with Wikvaya for a moment. You can come too.....Please. You could hear the desperation for not being alone with a Varden. She didn't feel conformable with any of it, but who was she to complain? She had brought it upon herself.
She waited for Wikvaya's answer. She didn't know why she had asked, she just needed some one other then her dragon if she was going to be near Varden forever.

All Wikvaya could do as the conversation proceeded was circle Emily and act all nonchalant. He was, however, a little surprised the elf was so lenient. Traveling with them wasn't all bad, and he was surprised the elf even suggested it. Weren't these fellas supposed to be logical? The most logical thing to do would be to kill her and not give her the chance to escape. With this, she had more than a chance to escape.
But who was he to be logical? He was a mere werecat.
"I'd be delighted." Hopping up into her arms like any housecat would, he wondered if she thought he was only coming to have a crack at her rubies. Perhaps he was, but even so, he figured this might just make an adventure.

Sonya arrived and snaked her head into the opening of the cave and examined the group "And a werecat." she snorted in irritation.
Vedrit, who had caught names when Arkantos had his little display in the desert, hid his mild suprise when Emily had missed his. After all, Arkantos had practically shouted it to all of Alagasia. "Vedrit Mathias." he said with a sligh bow, then turned to Sonya and placed the star ruby dice in a leather pouch, "The dwarfs replacement dice are in here. Please give them to him while our....companions prepare to leave. Also, please inform a liason of what Galbatorix intends to do. The less we linger, then better." he said to his dragoness.
"We should leave shortly. Other than the elves and possibly Uru baen, where do you intend to travel?"

Emily had almost dropped Wikvaya when he jumped into her arms, but she moved him to where she could hold him easily, which meant that his front paws and his head where leaning over her arms, which where in a crossed formation.
She listened to the elf's name, which eased her mind a little. "That's a nice name...." She commented, smiling. She felt herself relaxing. She gently put Wikvaya down, and ran her hand across his fur. Vedrits question made her stand up straight and sigh, "Well, you see I was actually on my way to the elves when we met in the desert, where I met Kyrn, who is off meeting his brother, and you, and the strange shade Arkantos." She put her hands to her temples and tried to think, "That's when Kyrn and I killed Velnix, then I came here to do what Galbatrox told me. So I should be going to visit my grandfather soon. I'm not going to visit Mickel, like I said before, he's alright, I just wanted to see if he was alive or not." What about Kyrn? Void asked. Emily shook her head, "Kyrn can handle himself." She said out loud.
She smiled at Sonya, who didn't look to happy to have to travel with another rider, or a werecat.
Emily turned and picked up her piece of paper with words on it. She started to write down some names and more numbers, then put the writing tool and paper in a small bag she had. She picked up a blue rock, looked at it carefully, and put it in her bag. She moved to the rock walls and smiled, "I laugh at these dwarfs." She said, picking at the wall until a blue rock fell out, "Sapphire." She said, putting it in her bag. She walked over to Void, who had silently stalked to the front end of the cave. She walked over and lent in front of Wikvaya, "So, you wanna turn human and ride with me, or sit on my lap in cat form?"

After being nearly dropped (he didn't like that,) he managed to snuggle comfortably against her chest. He was finding less and less of a need to be here, however. What did they need a werecat who, if he could, would nick all their stuff for anyhow? Sure, it'd be an adventure, and he adored adventures, but still... A mental debate now, is it? He didn't like mental debates. He never feels like he makes the right decision.
Nevertheless, he purred when stroked. "I fear were I human that my hat would get in the way and/or fly off. I'll stay for now."

Sonya snorted "You are the strangest elf." she said before withdrawing, the leather pouch strung onto one of her teeth. Vedrit was curious to know why his kin would allow a Rider of the Empire within the shade of the trees, much less allow her to leave alive.
Vedrit smirked at Emily's comment about the dwarves, "Yes. They tend to move slowly and dwell on the past. But I find it is a common trait among all the races of Alagasia." he said, "The dwarves simply tend to do it with objects as well as grudges."

Emily sighed and stood, "Maybe you shouldn't come. How about if you stay here, don't steal from the poor dumb creatures called dwarfs, and wait til I get back, I'll being you some star ruby dice, how about that?" Now that she thought about it, she really didn't need to bring the werecat, she had her grandfather, and her friends with the elves.
She turned toward Vedrit and nodded, "I think we are ready to go." She looked around the cave and saw nothing else of importance. Void nodded also.
Emily grinned and jumped up on her dragon, "See you later, Wikvaya." She turned her attention to Vedrit, "So, shall we go? I told my grandfather i'd be there yesterday, he might be worried."

Wikvaya hissed. Oh, so now he doesn't get to come? Now, he's the irrelevant one? And the irrelevant gets left behind? Well, let him tell YOU, pretty lady. You don't stiff a werecat, EVER! They're too tenacious for that. Moment, you're hiding in a tree, trying to keep out of sight. Next moment they're lying next to you, paw cocked and being licked with the epitome of nochalantness. They'll follow you until they lose interest.
"Pfft, like you're getting rid of me THAT easily."
He followed her, tail swishing.

Once Sonya informed him that the liason had been informed, the dice delivered, and laundry finished, the last added as a snide comment, Vedrit climbed out of the cave.
"We fly to the elves. It would do me well to be with my brothers and sisters again. You might even enjoy it." he said to Sonya, who responded with silence. "Where with the elves is this... relative of yours?" Vedrit asked. He had no inention of making their companionship into a prisoner-warden sort of thing, but he didnt want to be escorting her around to all of the Empire's enemies.
As for the werecat...Vedrit didnt care. They were too troublesome, showing up when least expected, and sometimes when its least convenient. Sure, they made interesting companions, and provided insight just as often as adding confusion, but this one seemed to favor confusion and inconvenience.

Emily starred at the werecat for a moment, shrugged her shoulders, then mounted Void with ease. "Okay, if you want to come, hop up." She patted her lap, it would be the safest place to hold him without accidentally dropping the werecat and watching him fall, unable to help, or trying to but being useless because Void didn't want the cat along in the first place.
Watch yourself around him, Emily. He will cause trouble. Void stated silently to only Emily, who nodded.
She looked at the elf and smiled, "Lets ride, elf." She smirked, patting Voids neck. This would be a fun adventure, and she would see if her grandfather would approve of her new friends.
(OMG! I am soooo sorry I've disappeared for like, ever. I know I have no right being here anymore. Sorry Vedrit and Wikvaya. I promise, If you guys let me, to be active from now one. New years resolution.)
