Zark smiled a smile that wasn't cold or arrogant. It was a smile that seemed to show his relief to know that Ardocc trusted him. He turned around and called out to his battle companions saying, "Everyone, form up around me. I have an idea." When they all came around him he said, "Alright, we are fighting 50 urgals correct? And there are six of us right? Then we should use all of our skills and talents. Here is what I propose. You all let me grant access to your minds, as to form a mental link so I can convey information about the battle field. Do you all trust me enough?"

Dondir was sitting down sharpening his axe and gazing out into the distance when Zark called them to gather. Dwandir was there before him so he stood next to his brother. Just a bit taller was Dondir.
When everyone was gathered Zark spoke, "Alright, we are fighting 50 urgals correct? And there are six of us right? Then we should use all of our skills and talents. Here is what I propose. You all let me grant access to your minds, as to form a mental link so I can convey information about the battle field. Do you all trust me enough?"
Dondir took a little time to think, but eventually agreed. He shook his head and thought that it would be a different experience.
Dwandir threw his axe in the dirt so that it's handle was in the air. " I will not!" he shouted gruffly waving his arms back and forth. "I will not need advice in battle, I am one of the head battle plan commissioners in the dwarf clan!" He turned around and walked away, then sat next to a broken tree stump in the dirt with a soft clink of his mail.
Dondir shrugged and whispered to Zark, "He isn't comfortable with others in his head."

Nola eyes seemed to shape into a "V" shape and she shook her head angrily."I have to agree with Dwandir. Unlike some I have not even known you for a day and you expect me to let you in my mind?"
Just to think I thought he might come up with something actually good!"Not gonna happen...."She said finally and left the small circle. She went back to the tree leaning on it and still shaking her head. Nola would never give up her mind.

Zark sighed. "Apparantly dwarf since your the master of plans then you of all people should know how powerful someone who is aware of everything in every place can be. Am I correct?" Then Zark turned to the girl and said, "So you don't trust me?" Zark said in a matter of fact tone, making it seem more like a statement than a question. "Then in that case go on ahead and fight blindly. Swing that sword and see how many you kill but not notice how many are left or how many are circling you or the number that could be coming up from the under brush to shoot a volley of arrows at you." His tone began to sink into his creepy, cold tone. His eyes seem to glow with his certainty of what could happen.

Zark was getting in that I-Know-everything tone again, which Torin hate. Torin also had no problem yelling at Zark, but now was not the time.
"Zark, how many times do I have to tell you. Stop it. They don't have to trust you if they don't want to. They met you yesterday. Ardocc and I have had the pleasure of fighting alongside you in battle. I will give my mind up to you, just not my memories. But be warned, if you try to pry to deep, I will kill you with no regrets. That is not a threat, but a promise. A man's or woman's last sanctuary is their mind."
Torin looked to Nola.
"I understand completely where you are coming from, but please don't think of Zark this way. He really is just trying to do what is best for us. Did you hear that Dwandir?"
Torin smiled and opened his mind to Zark.
Could you tell me what is around Nola and Dwandir during the battle? They may not want the help, but I can still give it.

Ardocc who was already in with Zark, and now Torin joined. Asking to help Dwanir and Nola. Ardocc thought this very loyal of him. But a little hard for one person.
Let me in on the happenings of Dwanir, Torin you can watch Nola if you want. Then he winked at Torin.
Then Ardocc went over and spoke with Dwanir to learn of his plan for what he was to do. He wanted as much head start on defending two people as he could and learning their plan was a good start.
He came back and started talking with Zark and Torin.
He seems a good fighter and rational, so just let me know if he's swamped with urgals.

No, problem. I'll take Nola, and what was with the wink huh? Don't forget, she is like 6 years older then me. Anyway, so Zark will you do that.
While Torin was waiting for the Urgals and for Zark's Answer, he decided to talk to Nola, to find out more about her. He got to her and asked away.
"So why are you here? Me, Zark and Ardocc have already talked about our reasons, care to talk about yours. I can understand if you don't want to though."

Zark nodded to Torin. "Very well, I give my solemn vow that I shall not go further than your outer thoughts." Then he began thought speak with Torin saying, I'll try but it will be harder without them opening their thoughts. I will be unable to warn them if anything is about to happen, like me tossing a great green fireball but I'll do my best. I'll relay all info that me, my spirits can gather during the battle, give you hints of where and when to strike at them. Understood? Then Zark turned to Nola and the dwarves and looked at Nola coldly, almost inhumanly. He didn't even batt an eyelid. Then he turned to Torin and said, "Lets talk later. According to my informates the Urgals will be here about 15 minutes. That gives us 10 minutes to plan and set up. Understood?"

"I understand completely where you are coming from, but please don't think of Zark this way. He really is just trying to do what is best for us. Did you hear that Dwandir?"
Nola looked at Torin and just gave a small sigh turning her gaze else where. What she thought of Zark was now her own. She would rather die then give her mind up.
"So why are you here? Me, Zark and Ardocc have already talked about our reasons, care to talk about yours. I can understand if you don't want to though."
Nola blinked somewhat. She was surprised that anyone really cared at all. "Helping people is a far better cause then traviling...."

"To a point everyone is helping someone. Even you. But the downside of that, whether you are a varden or Empire, you are also kiling people. Anyway we have a battle to fight."
Torin walked away smiling. She was very intresting to talk to, even if it was a sentence. Torin took out his fathers dagger and hid in some trees. Torin spotted the Urgals 5-10 minutes away. It was almost time. Torin's blood was pumping up. Torin was also trying his hands at the level of his head. But he knew himself. And he wouldn't be thinking clearly soon.

Dwanir and Dondir both took position at the base of a fat tree. Ardocc was with them. They had both their axes at ready.
Dwandir was already picking out his formidable opponents. He knew he wasn't going to go take out an eight foot urgal. So he scoped for his bracket of enemies.
Dondir was purely engaged in the thought conversion aspect. He had never spoken to people though thought before, only been searched by the Varden a few times.
The urgal army was massive compared to the last, they had many spearmen around soldiers with swords, axes , clubs, and varieties of weapons. Either crudely made or most likely stolen. On the sides of the marching urgal party were urgals with bows at ready. They seemed ready for battle, but it didn't seem they knew the whereabouts of the people among the forests.
Soon it would commence.

Nola never considered Urgals as people more like insane murderers. She had to admit the young man was interesting and still very young at heart. Nola took her whip out and gave a small smirk.
It was easy for her to climb into a tree as well and wait. A whip was a good weapon if it wasn't against one such as a Urgal or Kull. She would only be able to use it for a short time and then go with her sword. "Too bad I don't own a bow.."She muttered.

The Urgals were here. Torin made sure that everyone was in position and that his memories were blocked. Torin also made the first strike. He flicked his wrist and a knife was in an Urgals eye. The Urgal staggered back and fell onto the way behind it. Its spear stabbing the Urgal in the chest. The Urgals hesitated but Torin didn't. He jumped down to the archers and with both hands equipped with daggers, sliced open their stomachs. In a matter of 5 seconds, 4 Urgals were killed. This time the Urgals reacted. Two charged Torin as the rest of Torin's companions went into action, at least that's what Torin hoped. Torin jabbed another dagger in the first Urgals neck, and ducked a mediocre sword strike from the second. Soon the second Urgal had a bloody dagger ripped through his neck. The battle had started, and Torin was just getting started.

At Torin's lead, the battle had commenced. Ardocc let a yell tear from his lips and wielding his blade, led two dwarfs into this battle. His first opposer was a spear carrying beast. It lunged his spear at him but Ardocc parried it with the side of his sword, then he reached to his chest with his left hand and in one fluid motion pulled out the dagger Torin had given him, with the silved embossed hilt and the letter A for Arroughs on it, and sliced through the spear pole like butter. Then he spun and sheathed the dagger, and his sword found it's place in the urgal's chest. He had no time to think of rejoice because the next urgal was on him just as fast.

Zark nodded to the others as they took positions. Then he jumped up easily into the branches of the surounding trees that were about 8 feet tall. As he jumped trails of shadows and smoke were left behind very faintly, making him seem almost transperant if one looked hard enough. He looked over from his perch as the urgals came. Zark overheard Torin's discussion and simply shrugged. Doesn't matter if the foe is peaceful or a brute. Survival is what comes first. Then he observed the two that charged Torin, and watched him dispatch them quickly. Then one of his spirits picked up two urgals comign up from behind Torin and he spoke to him in his thoughts, Behind you, two urgals charging at you with tower shields, intending to bash them against you then they will then use short swords to slice your hamstrings. Move out of the way. Then he turned to Nala's postition, and noticed a urgal coming up from behind a few yards away from her, about 2 that he could see. He simply shrugged. She could take care of them. The dwarves were being circled by 4 urgals while 2 urgals were in the bushes with bows drawn. Ark penetrated their minds and said to Dondir, Careful, they have two archers in the bushes aiming at you and your brother. Then He looked at Ardocc's fight. Doign good, the urgal is going to try and kick you in the gut after a overhead blow. Watch it. The urgals were starting to realize that there was a trap or something and had begun to circle them. Not good, they have begun to circle us. Move in closer so that they won't pick you off one by one, he said to Torin, Dondir and Ardocc int their heads. He couldn't help but smile. Sometimes it was good to be him.

Jumping from the tree a large smirk was visible on her lean face. Nola snapped her whip towards nothing just to hear the large "crack" sound it would produce. Nola's green orbs scanned the the battlefield for her first victim. A urgal was charging at Ardocc and with a flick of her arm the whip went flying catching the urgals neck and breaking it with a strong tug.
The hair on the back of Nola neck began to rise and she felt just a chill go through her whole body. Turning to check behind her her eyes widen to see two Urgal only a few yards away with bows aiming at her. Her quick reflexes allowed her to trip one with another crack of her whip.
The other urgal watching his companion delayed shot the deadly arrow at Nola. Knowing she would not be able to dodge it she utter words and did what she did not wish to reveal."Letta thorna!" The arrow stopped in mid air then fell and she went on one knee weaken by the use of magic.

Zark turned quickly at where he heard the words of power. He watched the arrow fall down, and watched her weaken from the sword. A magician? Here? Then he saw another urgal come at her, charging with it's horns. ... Damn it all! He jumped down, gliding to where she was and slashed at the urgals kneck with a graceful twist of his hand with his sword. The urgal crumbled down to her feat. "Damn you for being so secretave of your nature..." He growled. Now he needed to protect because she might know some stray bit of knowledge he had not yet learned. "Move back to the others, the Urgals are suroundign us, and I suggest we move close together so we won't be picked off one by one."

Dondir heard all that Zark told him and yelled to his brother, "Hold your shield due west, towards the bushes, they have archers positioned, and no thinking where else." Then they continued to strike at foes, they were heavily outnumbered but every time one lunged at them they both started in on him with attacks that sent him back to the urgal circle around them.
Dwandir kept his eye open for any fault these beasts had to offer for their success. Then he saw it, one reached up, trying to fix his shield placement on his arm one handed and left a huge opening very vulnerable. So Dwandir lunged for attack with his axe. The urgal jumped back and his axe swung into the soft mud. The urgal then counter attacked and tried to swing a club down on his head. Dwandir quickly reacted with his dagger (more like a short sword) over his head, it stopped the blow, but the urgals wooden club stuck into his blade. And as the urgal tried to dislodge it, Dwandir swung his axe one handed into the urgals forearm and severed it completely, sending dark blood all over the grass.
Dondir quickly was at his brother's aid with a quick axe to the urgal's back which his his spinal cord and it was down.

Nola raised her head at Zark slowly surprised and angry by his actions. Her head felt like it had been hit off and just getting up was now hard. She was still a bit dazed by what had just happened. Magic was something she never used unless forced. She knew her limit was low and knew if she used any more magic she would die.
Nola had enough sense to understand what Zark said and unsheathed her sword and kept her grip strong for fear she would drop it.Putting her whip away she spoke "Very well..."She really didn't have enough strength to argue.

Zark's head turned slightly around to acknowledge what she said when he heard a rustle to their left, at the same time he heard one of his spirits alert him of 4 urgals right behind the bush in a single file line. He quickly put his palm out and spoke in a harsh tone, "Garjzla Thorna!" As he spoke the words four of his spirits dissappaited while he seemed to be perfectly fine. A great streak of green light in the shape of an enmorous arrow speed through the bush, burning right through it. Howls and screams were followed a second later as the bush rustled once more before lighting aflame. Then he turned and grabbed her by the right bicip and dragged her over to the center. "Consider yourself lucky," he said.
