"What?! No!"
Was all Ietoro could say before a flash of scales filled his vision. He felt something heavy strike him in the chest. It winded him and knocked him off his feet onto his bad. He shielded his eyes as he watched his quarry flee. What happened next would surprise anyone who knew, or knew of Ietoro.
"No! Come back!" He screamed.
When the dragon did not come back, Ietoro kicked the dirt with his left boot, then his right boot. He stood up and began to hop up and down, kicking up dirt as he yelled profanities in several languages. Finally, he stopped, sheathed his sword, folded his arms across his chest and stuck out his bottom lip.
"Are you quite finished?" Kael asked.
Yes. Come to me. I want to go home, now. I'm dirty.
"I come."
A minute or so later, Kael appeared and landed softly at Fadriendel's side. Fadriendel climbed onto his back and draped himself over Kael's neck. Kael took off into the air, and as they grew nearer to Uru'baen, Ietoro sat up. He untied the various bags of money from his waist and deposited them into the saddlebags. He heaved a sigh and stretched.
That's better. I could barely move with those on.

As the Rider, Dragon, and Elf were flying away, Raven spared a glance back over his shoulder to see the amusing sight that was Ietoro throwing a major temper tantrum. Raven decided against snickering, instead turning his attention to the other two thirds of their group of travellers.
Next stop, Surda.
And so it was that the long trip back to the Varden Headquarters had begun...
