Keri watched as Arkantos began to fall asleep. She decided to leave him and she lay back and her dark eyes looked to the heavens and Saeunn's dark blue ones followed her gaze. They didn't speak a word to eachother in the passing time and they just enjoyed eachothers company.
A few minuetes later Keri heard very deep rattly breaths coming from behind her and as she turned she saw Saeunn's eyes were closed and he had fallen asleep. Keri grinned and pushed his wing into his side because it had stretched out over her. She looked to Arkantos' form and thought he was asleep to. SHe grinned and stood up.
Deciding to take her time alone to go for a walk, she turned and at a steady run ran through the forests her footfalls making no sound even as she jumped over bushed and fallen trees. The cool air surged through her chest keeping her cool, she ran about a mile without even loosing breath as she stopped. She looked over the lake which she had arrived at and she longed to swim in the cool waters.
Taking off her leather jacket and trouser leaving her in her white vest and shorts . She hung her clothes high in a tree so they couldn't be taken Keri walked slowly over the wet rock that stood out over the waters. She stood at a balance on the very end and looked over and for the first time in a long time saw her relfection. She wasn't herself. Her form was still elagant and slim but there were bunps of muslces in places. Over her shoulders her arms and her legs were strongly built. Her skin had gotten a little paler and her dark red hair looked like blood in the mooonlight. In contrast to her pale face her dark silver eyes stood out like the moon on a dark night. She looked very wolfish in odd ways, she would call herself elven looking but this was wilder and stronger looking but just as graceful. Keri thought there seemed somthing mysteriously haunted by her new self. Her sharp hearing caught the sound of a howl nearby and she turned to face where the cry was coming from. Her lips parted and a sweet tune passed from her own self and this rose up quickly to a quavering note then slowly died away like the wind. Her dark silver orbs darted to a patch of trees about 40 feet away where she swore she had seen movement. Her nares twitched as a wolf's scent passed to her. A silver wolfess walked from the trees striahgt ahead of her. Her tassle held high dec;aring herself alphena amoung the pack. She walked straight to Keri showing no fear and as Keri leant down the silver wolfess nuzzled Keri and nipped at her chin playfully. Keri smiled and lifted her hand slowly to stroke the faes silver coat which glowed brightly in the moonlight. Keri remembered how many hunters there werer around her and she gave a low warning 'uff' sound and the alohena licked her chin before turneing and darting back into the forest a low howl of goodbye.
Keri smiled at the way the wofl had acted around her. Like Keri was a wolf. The transormation was complete.
Keri turned and ran along the rock and dove over the edge spreading her arms like bird wings before making them to a point so her body darted into the waters like an arrow making barley any splash. The crisp cool waters surrounded her body and Keri didn't feel the usual shock of cold. She felt mini tremors in her body as she shivered slightly but no gasping shock of cold. She swam under the water with pwerful strokes from her legs and arms before she raised to the surface and took a deep breath of cool night air. She swam for a few more minuetes befroe sliming out and using magic to dry herself. Putting her leathers back on she ran back to camp feeling much more refreshed.
She walked into the camp and whispered'' brisingr'' and pointed her hand at the dying embers of the fire and it roared back to life and glowed brightly over Keri. She lay down upon her stomach and watched the flames dancing around. She thought herself as fire. Once she too moved freely but was confined to stone walls. But now she was free to roam everywhere like a forest fire. Able to destroy anything she saw fit to meet their end at her fangs....

Jex enjoyed the moon light that shown over the land of Alagaesia. He and Draith were walking down an empty road. All that could be heard were the owls. But so much more was going on in the pair’s minds. “I wonder when Raylborn will send us to Ellesmera. We have been here for sometime now and we still are not even close to shades fighting level. We need to leave soon for training. We need to get stronger.” Frustration filled Jex’s voice.
Calm yourself Jex I’m sure that within the next week we will begin the journey to Ellesmera. It just takes Patience. Draith said soothing his rider. “Well I suppose you’re right.” Jex climbed into the saddle on Draith’s back. Of course I’m right now let us take flight.
Draith began to run down the road and leap into the air spreading his wings wide. Although Draith was only a little bigger than a horse his speed matched that of full grown dragons.
The two flew away from the city into a nearby forest. Draith began to glide through the air. The moonlight shined bright that night making the membrane of his wings appear almost an orange color.
The wind blew Jex’s hair everyway but he felt nothing but Draith. Dragon and rider were one, seeing out of the same pair of eyes. The view was magnificent. Jex had only gotten the chance to one other time before. It was one of the reasons he loved being Draith’s rider.
As they separated Jex spoke. “I think that was better than last time.” It was great wasn’t it? Draith got closer to the ground a small lake was in view. Draith began to perform aerial maneuvers close to the water. Soon they neared the land and Jex realized something. Someone was making camp there. He would have liked to turn around and ignore the situation but they were to close for that now.
Don’t worry Jex we don’t even no if they’re friend or foe yet. Draith gracefully landed on the ground. But just in case Jex rolled off of the saddle to the ground. He picked up a strong stick.
They cautiously neared the camp. Closer and closer they could now make out two figures. Jex noticed one was a woman. “We come in peace.” He said loud enough for her to hear.

Keri closed her eyes and moments later she heard the thuds of dragon wings. A pair slightly smalled than Saeunn's but no less harder to hear with Keri's acute hearing. As she heard approaching footsteps Keri stood up and her dark silver eye's looked upon the man and Kerithen reconised him from the fight with shades. Her dark eye's glanced between the two and she said . '' Greetings Jex and Draith '' she said remembering their names when the others in the fight called upon them. Saeunn lifted his head and opened his blue eyes and peered upon the newcomers. He opened his mouth but only a large yawn came from it...

Jex realized it was the rider Keri from the battle with the shades. He jumped as he could finally see good detail of her face. "What happened to you?" He asked her. Draith on the other hand didn't seem worried at all. Good evening. He said to both rider and dragon. He walked up to the camp and Jex slowly followed.
Who is the person with you? He asked noticing the other person who appeared to be sleeping. Draith sat down near the fire.
"You don't look like you." Jex said still shocked.

Keri looked slightly puzzled as Jex jumped and she sighed slightly. The change was noticable, She smirked slightly and said ''' I'm not entirley sure '' lowly. Keri looked to Draith and spoke '' His name is Arkantos, I met him tonight and he's with the varden.''[/color] she said.. Her darker than dark silver orbs looked to Jex and she shrugged '' I know, I have changed alot. I think it was a mix of the poison on the daggers and that ring '' she said vaguley..

"What ring?" He asked calming himself down somewhat. Draith nodded and looked to Saeunn. How are you doing on this fine night fellow Skulblaka?
Jex took a seat warming his hands by the fire. The flight had been great but that didn’t stop it from being cold. Jex had many questions but decided to let the many continue to float around in his head as they had been doing.
Draith eyed the one they called Arkantos. He felt safer knowing he was with the Varden but still didn’t trust it completely.

((O.K., are you hapy now?!?! *frustrated tear*))
Arkantos awoke with a start, his hand on the hilt of his drawn sword. The last dream had been the worst yet, full of demons, spirits, and a hooded figure telling him to kill everyone aligned to the Varden. He shivered and turned towards the fire, intending to warm himself with its heat. He jumped up with a start and put his sword at the guard position at the sight of a figure sitting there, warming themself by the fire.
"Who are you!" He yelled, his mind reaching for the presence of the ring that was on his finger. The ring glowed and crackled with intense blue lightning, waiting to strike at a moment's notice.

(( Yes'em )) Keri didn't flinch as Arkantos sprung to his feet. She grinned and pointed out the glowing ring. '' That one'' in reply to Jex's question. Keri's eternally deep silver eyes looked up to Arkantos, the fire by her made the silver in her dark silver eyes stand out in subtle streaks. '' Calm yourself, they are of the varden ''. Saeunn's dark blue orbs watched as Arkanto's started. He shook his dias slightly. He turned to the other dragon and he inclined his dias in greetings ''I am good thank you. and how does the night fare for you brother? '' he asked his spined tail twitching slightly...

Jex was confused by what was going on. He neared a little closer but not to close. He watched Arkantos who was holding his blade in a defense position. Yes if we weren't varden you would have been dead right now. Draith said staring at the man. Be nice Draith. I'm sorry I just don't trust him.
"My apologizes for my dragon's actions. Draith is just not very good at trusting I guess." Jex couldn't see the ring to well but he had a good overall look.
I am doing great this fine night. The moon is bright the sky is at peace whats not to enjoy?

Arkantos relaxed slightly, lowering his sword. He slowly released the magic in the ring and turned to the Rider sitting by the fire. "That's quite fine." Arkantos said, "For some reason, dragons aren't too friendly to me at first; I might not know why, but they do."
He stretched and sat by the fire, his ring glinting in the flames, almost hungry for the energy of the fire.
"Oh, I just remembered, which Rider for the Varden are you again? I had a scroll that gave me the names and dragon colors, but I seem to have lost it.."
He slowly and quietly reached for his ring with his mind, trying to find out more about it, but all he saw was a woman, quite like Keri, weeping and singing herself into a tree. He projected his mind into the ring and asked, "Who are you? And why are you in my ring?!" The woman turned, and hatred, shame, and sorrow were in her voice."I thought I killed you!" She hissed "And why do you have MY ring?!" She stopped singing herself into the tree and forcefully shoved Arkantos out of the ring so hard that he landed on a stone near the fire. The ring glowed angrily, then subsided, glinting.
"Well, I know never to do that again.." He muttered, rubbing his head. "And why did she say she had killed me?... This requires elf know-how.."

Jex said down relaxing. It was nice to just enjoy the night. He then realized something. The riders were supposed to be traveling to Du Weldenvarden soon. How irresponsible of me. What if something happens tonight like the shades returning? Jex frowned. It is not only your fault I didn’t remember either.
“I’m sorry we must leave. You two should come too.” Jex said looking at the rider and her dragon. “We may miss something important with the Varden if we do stuff like this.”
Jex got onto Draith’s back. “We will fly so slowly so you have time to catch up.” Jex waved. “Good bye Arkantos it was nice to meet you.”
The red dragon then took off into the night sky.

Arkantos watched the red dragon fly away, feeling depressed. He would have to leave soon, as the sun was already starting its long climb, but he didn't look forward to it. He started packing up and slowly saddled Wingfoot as he comtemplated his next move.
"I should head back to Aberon, but it's been months." He said to himself "But I do need new orders, and since Keri will probably be leaving to go with that other rider who was so rude as to not give his name, I might as well look for a new traveling partner somewhere in Surda.."
He mounted Wingfoot and said to Keri, "Farewell, Rider and she-wolf, daughter of nature and of elves..". He slowly started to ride away with a backward glance towards the clearing.

Saeunn grinned at the crimson dragon ''Apart from the slight disturbances ..'' he said looking over to Arkantos and Jex ''..There is nothing not to enjoy '' with a not of his large dias.
keri looked up to Jex as he stood. Keri felt confused. She had been unconcious ever since the shade attack, she did not know what the riders were doing latley or what the plans for them were. Keri decided to leave the questions till when she was with the other riders.
''I will be right behind you ''she said to Jex as he mounted Draith. The light blow of wind from Draiths take-off blew Keri's hair about slightly as she walked to Arkantos and helped him pack. Using the last dregs of soup from her canteen she put out the remaining embers of the fire. Putting the sack back on Saeunn's back Keri turned to see Arkantos mount Wingfoot. A small grin crept onto her new features and she nodded to Arkantos
'' Fairwell Arkantos, hunter and warrior of the night, I do hope we cross one anothers paths again some day soon, and trust me, I will make sure they do ''. Keri watched as he rode slowly away on Wingfoot giving a brisk wave when he glanced back.
Keri watched as the sun slowly crept up the sky sending a crimson glow into the air. The first sunrise she had seen since the attack. Curiousity then strangled at Keri's thoughts and she swiftly jumped up onto Saeunn's back.
Saeunn was watching the sunrise when he felt Keri land softly on his back. He grinned. ''Ready?'' he asked playfully. ''Always '' she replied.
Saeunn thrust his form into the air with his powerful pillars and his wings snapped open to the air. Keri's long strong legs held her firmly on Saeunn's back. Leaning forewards so Saeunn could fly as fast as he could.
The happiness drowned the two as they tore through the air, Saeunn's powerful wings pulling them through the sky....
