Ashteth watched through half-lidded eyes as the girl he had captured tossed and turned slightly in her sleep. His head tilted over to one side. It had been a long time since he had looked at an elf - surrounded as he was by these vile excuses for life - these mortals and urgals. Ashteth never regretted being banished, quite the contrary. But he never fully let go of the grace and power that his race held.
Not batting an eyelash Ashteth watched as the elf made one final roll and turned over onto his bare blue feet. The elf leaned back in his chair and tightened his arms across his chest, staring down impassively at the girl who had just woken up. Ashteth continued to silently observe the other elf as she surveyed her surroundings. Finally getting to her feet the older elf continued to watch the girl, not saying anything, just watching through hard blue eyes.
Ashteth saw anger blaze out of her face and returned her rageing gaze with his own calm one, his sharp features impassive.
"My apartment. Consider yourself lucky. I am being quite nice." Ashteth said, his eyebrows coming together slightly, a few strands of his shock-white hair falling into his face.
"Do not forget your place. You are under Empire custody and unarmed against another elf. Show at least minimal respect or you will not be long for this world."

She straightend her shoulders and stood higher and her face transformed into look of one much older than a simple girl.
A look of disdain crossed her face. " You really think you can keep me here? You...Ashteth the Traitor...Slayer of Karnim the Great and Banished of Du WeldenVarden?" She asked, drawing power from Mirror and watching as a wind swept through the room
She shook her head, her hair shifting slightly and revealing her ears once more. " You think your untouchable...you were so selfish, you couldn't even live with the fact that someone might have been better than you..." She sneered.
"You say your better than me....But your no better than the power hungry fool you serve... Do you even know if the information I gave you is true...You already know that I lied about one thing...do you really think that I did not lie about the others?"
She gave him a cold, calculating look and turned her back to him, her eyes changing from the light green of her younger days to the almost forest green that was her natural color...

Ashteth watched the elf through cold eyes, letting the would-be insults roll off him. Karnim the Great. Slayer of Karnim the Great. The elf allowed himself a small, smug smirk, watching amusedly at the more mature version of a tempertantrum. He sat back in the chair and looked up at the other elf.
"I will not tell the King anything I cannot gaurentee. I have not yet gaurenteed him a captive elf, nor have I told him of whatever it was that you told me - truth or falsehoods." He said calmly, watching the elves back. She was right, in a way. He knew he could keep her where he wanted her, a swift pinch to the neck and she would bedown for another three hours. He knew he was a better and more experienced fighter than her, she was unarmed and he still had his dual swords and his knowledge, something that would be far harder to lose.
She was both wrong and right. He couldn't live with the fact someone was better than he was. It tore him up, ate at him from the inside out. He wouldn't allow it, and didn't allow it, not even within his own family. He smiled again, his lips twitching. Ashteth nearly laughed. He really had enjoyed killing his brother, the freedom and the release his death had provided was immeasurable. And it wasn't even the killing that made the death so sweet, it was the relief that he could do what he wanted, and Ashteth reveled in his own indivuality and his release.
"Slayer of Karnim the Great. Heh" Ashteth shook his head. "I like that. Say it again."

She sneered, her eyes cold. "You're sick..." she told him, looking him in the eyes, letting him feel the rage that coursed through her body. "I don't believe I didn't see it at first, there in the bar..." she told him.
"I thought perhaps you were just another elf for the Empire, a simple male I could dispatch with nothing more than a thought." She admitted to him, "But now, I see the truth. Blue skin and eyes. Banish marks from Queen Izlandi herself...Quite an honor, No?"
She pause, her eyes hooded. She slowly sat on the edge of the bed, her hands reflexivly straying to her side, searching for the weapons that were not there...She sighed.

Ashteth frowned slightly, still sitting impassively in his seat, his chair, his throne. He shook his head and sat back, closing his legs, his left ankle resting on his knee softly. The elves arms where still crossed over his chest and dark blue eyes watched the other elf closely.
"I am much more than just another elf." Ashteth said, still observing the younger elf through half-lidded eyes.
"You talk of honor. What do you mean? Honor is relative. All it means is whether or not you have followed rules or received something that is deemed special or outstanding from another who is also considered honorable. It all depends on what set of rules you follow, love, that divides the honored from the intolerable." Ashteth said, still watching the elf for a reaction.
"Who are you to tell me that my rules are wrong?"

"Who are you to tell me that my rules are wrong?"
She gave him a small wane smile. "I never said that your rules were wrong. For all I know, I could be working for the evil side...She felt Mirror mentaly nudge her for these words.
"I just said you were sick for taking pleasure in my words..." She looked him up and down from her perch on the bed. She opened her connection to Mirror and said "I don't think that he is completly evil. Corrupted yes, but not entirely evil... I mean if he was, why am I not in a jail cell in Uru'baen?'
She heard him snarl. 'Just because he has not taken you to Galbatorix does not make him an ally.'
She sent him a picture of Tristan and Icefyre. 'They too, were once our enemies. Do you remember?'
He sent her a snort and said 'I don't trust him and even if he becomes an ally I still won't.' She heard the finality in his tone and knew that he would never change his mind...I never said he could be an ally, just' she paused for a moment. 'Slightly helpful by giving information...

Shrugging, the blue-skinned elf continued to watch the younger girl. Why didn't he take her to the King? Politics, mostly, and the Twins. Partially his own curiosity and pride. He had too big an ego to bring a healthy elf to the King. She needed to be beaten, broken, defeated and ground into the dirt and brought, begging, into the court of Galbatorix. Ice-blue eyes narrowing, he almost smiled. This might be fun.
Ashteth flinched visibly as the elf opened her mind link. He couldn't tell what she was saying, but he could sense that she had opened up telepathy between herself and, most likely, her dragon. He glared at the girl, but said nothing, letting her converse with the over-sized lizard uninterrupted. He checked his broadswords, his hand flicking to his side, making sure that they where still there. It was a comfort thing.
He growled lightly, a warning to the elf to break off the link before he got violent and forced her to cut the connection.

She glanced and Ashteth as he growled low in his throat. Looking around she quickly pulled something off of the top of her head as she tried to finish her conversation with Mirror. "How often do you stay here?"
'Mirror, you know what to do. Do it and get out. Find Tristan and send him, Tian too if you find her...' She trailed of and her eyes glazed over. She felt herself begin to shudder as she fell to the ground, the bed flashing quickly across her vision. KAALA!!!
She gasped, her head and the floor connecting with a sickening crunch. Stars bursting behind her eyelids, she succumbed silently to the enclosing darkness.

Eyes narrowing, Ashteth began to stand up, ignoring the girls question; An obvious distraction in order to try and prolong her telepathy with the dragon. Seconds passed like hours and the blue elf nearly hit the girl when suddenly the elf grimaced and fell to the floor in front of Ashteth.
The traitor nodded, not at all surprised by the faint. Severe emotional and physical stress, not to mention that she had already passed out once today, would lead one to conclude that passing into unconsciousness wouldn't be all too unheard of. This way at least she was quieter, and much easier to deal with.
Crossing his legs, Ashteth kicked the elf slightly, turning the girl over.
What now? The silly elf would come to again soon, an hour or two at the most, then what would he do with her? She couldn't very well stay here, she would just cause trouble and Ashteth would have preferred that the girl be anywhere else, as his personal apartment was not someplace he let just anyone in. Nodding, coming to a quick decision, Ashteth kicked his chair back and bent down, pulling the elf onto his shoulder, so that he was carrying the girl, her stomach pressing onto his back.
Swiftly exiting the building, Ashteth made his way into the dark streets of Gil'ead, the shadows and clouds providing excellent cover. Darting in and out of the alleys, the elder elf found the entrance he was looking for; his own doorway into the catacombs beneath the city. Dropping down into the maze-like tunnels, Ashteth turned expertly his mind racing as he forced his feet to move quicker through the stone archways. Coming to another doorway beneath the main street, the elf slipped inside, locking the door.
There where a few cells, almost like a small, below ground dungeon. Stepping into one of the less comfortable rooms, Ashteth put the elf down and quickly preformed a few basic wards, one to keep her from speaking, and another to sto p her from breaking down the walls. Exiting the room, Ashteth locked the cell and then grabbed a chair, sitting in front of the door, waiting for the elf to wake up off the cold cell floor.
We will soon see just how strong this girl is.

She groaned, feeling like a dragon was stampeding through her head. She sat up only to purge the contents of her stomache. She wiped her lips and stood on unsteady legs, her vision slowly coming into focus. She noticed brick walls and thought, "Does he ever stop moving his prisoners?" She looked around saw him, smug look on his face, sitting in a chair outside her cell.
She opened her mouth to ask him where he had taken her only to hear silence. 'So, he's put up a ward has he....first I'll take care of my head, then I'll see to these wards....'
She sat back down, drawing a small dagger from her boot and making a small slice down her arm, taking in the sight of the red rivulet. She nodded her head in a slow motion, making sure to keep her head clear. She closed her eyes and listened to the world around her before centering on a rat lingering in the next cell. She drew her energy from the animal, flinching a little as it died.
She covered the wound on her head with a hand before reaching inside her and pulling a little of the magic from within. She released a silent sigh and the wound closed, her headache fading into a managable throb.
She the cupped a hand under the little river of blood flowing from her arm, letting it pool in her hand. She let her other hand fall to the floor palm down. 'Deloi moi' she thought, as a small hole appeared in the floor. she poured the blood into the hole and wiped her arm of the blood before healing the small wound. She focused her mind on Mirror and thought 'Draumr Kopa' He appeared in a swirl of clouds, before she caught him going into a dive over what appeared to be a city is Surda. She tensed as the image faded, focusing her gaze on the elf outside her cell

((I would prefer if it was just Kaala and I. We have a pretty good plotthing going, but if you have a good idea, PM her or I and we'll see what can happen.))
Ashteth sighed. The girl had come to much quicker than he would have liked. Gods above, this elf was far too smart for her own good. Repressing a smirk as she tried to talk, he watched her through the bars of her cell, bright eyes narrowed distastefully. Using blood for a Seeing. Not the healthiest or the cleanest way to See, but surely an effective one. Using blood made it easier to connect with relatives, friends and, of course, any who held a special bond, such as the dragon. Standing, Ashteth gained a better view of the elves Grammar, watching half-interestedly as she contacted her dragon.
Suddenly her gaze drifted to him, and her eyes found his. He didn't flinch or look away. Ashteth merely stared calmly back at her, his own icy eyes impassive and apathetic. He was leaning against the wall, his head turned to look at the elf in the cell. A few white bangs fell into his sharp face, the flickering shadows coming from the tripod-candles highlighting the elves high cheekbones and banish-marks.
"You know girl. You could always ask what I'm planning. There's no need for you to be constantly confused, although I'm sure that confusion is a near-constant state for you."
He didn't need telepathy to see that the elf in the cell was not only angry at him, but at the entire situation she had gotten herself into. Eyes half-lidded in the dim light, Ashteth nearly sighed. If only this girl hadn't come to Gil'ead on some stupid runaway mission then she wouldn't be in this mess. And he wouldn't be the one dealing with her, he would still be in the bar, trying to get defy the physics of the elfin body by trying to get drunk.
Stupid girl. Stupid elves, actually. If the entire race wasn't so gods-dammed snobby then Alagaesia probably wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. No loyalty to the Weldervarden. Only to power, and those who wielded it.

Kaala slowly came to her feet, ignoring his comment and walking over to look though the bars. She sent him a thought and sighed in relief as it passed through the barrier of wards. 'So,' she asked him, 'do you really plan on keeping me as a pet?' She looked at him and raised her brow, letting him know what she thought of that.
'Still, I suppose you would be better than dealing with Galbatorix.' she said, sending him a mental image of a smirk. She stepped back and retreated to a corner, her headache slowly getting worse. 'I don't suppose you're going to do anything for this headache you gave me are you?' She asked sarcastically, settling herself on the cold stone to examine his wards. She worked through them layer by layer, pieceing each one together and slowly discovering the pattern of his magic. At that, she began wearing them down, using her vocabulary silently and trying to use as little energy as possible to conserve what she had.
