"Bold? No, im just saying it how it is. Ah but can you decide for yourself?" He asked, raising a brow as she made a move towards her sword. He met her gaze and stared hard at her, not blinking for anything. The shade really wasn't moving along anywhere in this discussion, just pretty much avoiding answering ANY of their questions. She would answer with a snide comment or a question of her own, but it was expected from one of her type. He held up his sword a trifle higher now, ready if she were to attack.

Vari shifted almost unoticably, this wasn't working as well as she thought it would. How would this end? Hopefully it could be done peaceably. They both wanted information, and neither wanted to give any. Seeing the conversation was sinking to personal insults and prying into motives she attempted to get them all back to a safer topic. "But why would we tell you?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. "Why would a shade think she could get information willingly from, pardon me for assuming, her enemies to make her more dangerous?" The whole idea was rather odd; that is unless she had something to offer them.

The Shade's expression tightened. Both she and the man knew each other's game. It seemed they could both go at it like this for hours on end. No real information was being offered in either direction. Vavrin smirked inwardly, everything was going as she thought it would. Her tolerance toward the man was quickly dissipating, but every word he said only proved her point. They knew absolutely nothing of the other Shades.
She glanced at the woman and directed her reply towards her. "You are quite right, we are enemies. However, my presence here was not a waste. Perhaps I found out more than I had hoped." She averted her eyes towards the man once more. " As for you. Dont think for a moment that I do not know how to make decisions for myself. " The tone in her voice lowered a bit as she stared into his hazel eyes. "Put that away. You do not want to provoke me into making you use it."

Raylborns face relaxed a little, but he still held his stare at the shade. “Not a waste? You found out nothing, and I know more than you could ever find. I will hold these secrets until my death.”
He looked at the dark blade as the shade instructed rudely to put it away. “Ah, and now you think you can control me? I think otherwise. I will not listen to one of your...” He paused to look her up and down. “type. I will hold my sword if I wish, whether it provokes you or not.” He said, smirking at the shade.

Vavrin's lips parted to form a feral grin. "Secrets? Really, now. We shall see what is revealed upon the most... unfortunate... event of your death. But that wont be for a while, at least. I have plans for you yet. As for controlling you? Oh, no. I find that the things you do all on your own are much more intruiging." She felt herself being looked over by the headstrong man. She knew what he really wanted.
"Now," she said, placing her hand upon the hilt and unsheathing her longsword, holding it in her right hand, "let's get to what we've been waiting for since I made my presense known."

"My death? Even if I do die I will take my secrets to the grave. I would never tell one who serves satan as you. You have plans for me? Plans are plans, many times they don't succeed. You of all people should know that. And any plan of a shade is usually a bad one in the end." Raylborn said responding to the shades comment. He had said shade with a tone of disgust, of hatred.
His face hardened as the shade unsheathed her longsword. A small grin crept across Raylborn's lips as he lifted his sword and took a step forward, quite possibly a step towards his death. "And what might that be? Why don't you explain that to me." If it's a fight she wants, it's a fight she'll get. I will go down fighting this demon. He thought to himself.

Andvari didn't want to appear frightened but things seemed to have gotten closer to the fight she prayed wouldn't happen. Her only hope against it now was that the shade said she had plans for Raylborn. 'but thats no protection for me now is it?' she thought uncomfortably. She stood casualy, trying to be unnoticable and rested her hand on the top of the oak chair. It was old, but sturdy, And it'd have to do as a club if she needed it. At least the chairs here were more heavy-duty, it shouldn't break easily.

"Now, if I revealed my plans for you, what fun would that be? Where is the intruige?" She advanced on him, keeping her sword high and her eyes intently focused upon his. She recognized the tone in his voice and knew that he wasnt playing games this time.
Vavrin crept past a table to face him properly. "Like you, I have secrets. We shall see who takes them to the grave first." It was the moment she was waiting for. The face-off... The man thought she looked powerful? He would find out first hand in a mere matter of seconds. "After you," she yelled, and with that took the first strike at him with her pale sword.

As the sword flew towards him, he quickly parried the blow, sparks flashed as the two blades clashed against one another. And the fight began. "Intrigue means nothing!" He grunted to her. He didn't attack, but instead just smiled and took a step backwards, giving him time to speak. "Even if I do die, you shall never find the other shade. You can go crawling back to your pathetic king, happy you defeated me. All in all, the Varden will rise! I count on it, and you will die by the blade of one of us. And that will be the end of you you monstrosity!" He snarled and sidestepped, taking a quick swing towards her lower stomach.

The Shade quickly deflected the man's attack on her abdomen and slashed at the man's right shoulder. Between clenched teeth, she growled, "Your words mean nothing to me. You and your Varden-council are nothing but a bunch of blind rats groping for death!"
Her eyes narrowed into slits as she fought with all of her hatred. She wanted to fight him the moment she saw him. Standing around for that long amount of time took all the patience in the world.

Raylborn stumbled back at the shades attack, the tip of the blade just missing his flesh. His brow furrowed in concentration. "Ha, so I guess your so desperate to have someone to talk to you that you did in fact come and try to talk to a bunch of blind rats? I would never have thought a shade of all people to do so! Ah, it is sad what your type are sinking to." He pretty much spat the word shade. He smirked and lunged his blade towards the shade. Sweat dripped from his forehead, to add to the moving around he had armor on. Ah but it was for the best.

The man's blade narrowly missed Vavrin's forearm. She grabbed a chair and overturned it, taking a step to the side. "Oh, but you are my favourite blind rat of all. You should be honoured. I'll take it that Im your favourite Shade, yes?"
With that, her eyes flashed as she took a stride, taking a different angle at the man. She twirled her sword and thought of a different attack. After a moment, she slashed low, at the man's thigh, the smirk never leaving her face. This was getting fun. She nearly scolded herself for going so easily.

Raylborn lifted his sword a bit, his eyes narrowing slightly. He raised a brow as the shade overturned a chair. And that helps in what way? He thought to himself. "Oh no, not at all. I've seen shade that were much much more adept at sword fighting. Not to mention they looked much better. If I were to be a blind rat, looking at you would have caused it." He chuckled aloud, not caring if it wasn't the time for jokes. He was just trying to anger the shade, so it would do something stupid.
As the shade twirled her sword, Raylborn prepared for an attack. The sword unexpectedly swung towards his thigh, cutting through his mail. He let out a gasp and took a step back. His face then turned into an angry mask. He was mad now and swung towards the shades leg, stopping mid-swing only to change the course of the blade to her upper arm.

The Shade blinked. Was that laughter? He was laughing at his own jokes. What the... "Your attempt at trying to make a joke is about as lousy as your attempt to anger me," Vavrin said coolly.
Another sound interrupted her thoughts, and that was the man's gasp. Her sword had made contact with his thigh, and she was pleased. She was about to deflect his attack on her own leg when his aim changed and sliced her arm. This time, she was the one to gasp. It had cut right through the sleeve of her tunic. She paused to glare at the man, but was seemingly relieved he had finally cut her. It proved he could actually do a bit of damage, so it wasnt such a one-sided fight.

Raylborn just shrugged at the shades comment. He no longer cared what words went into his head, as they were going out the other. He was intent on killing the shade, or at least putting the council and Varden out of harms way. He stared at her with cold eyes, no longer in a mood for joking. He had went from a cocky, sarcastic man to this.
He gripped the hilt of his fathers blade with two hands, his eyes focused on the shade. He wound up and swung the blade hard at the Shade, looking to behead her. It wouldn't kill her, but would get the cursed creature out of the city.

Andvari had watched with a quiet fear. She wasn't the object of attention and that was a blessing. If the shade had frgotten she was here that would be even better. He knuckles were white witht he grip she had on the chair. She gave up pretending to be harmless and had grabed hold of the chair so she could use it on a second's notice. She ignored the banter between the two and instead watched Raylborn and tried to predict what his next move was....it was getting frustrating, she didn't know how she cold help.
But then she had a break, he was preparing for a hard strike but leaving himself unprotected. Without thinking she picked up the chair and swung it at the shade from behind with all her dwarven stength and human leverage aiming it so it would hit her target full bodied. Her mind was numb but she hoped it would work at distracting the shade's attention.

Vavrin straightened her body to its full height as the man swung his sword at her neck. She raised her sword in both hands across her head to block, sparks emitting upon pure impact. They were standing very close now, her eyes bore into his, and she could see every bead of sweat on his forehead. Nice try...
The Shade's face was twisted into an expression of rage as she held her sword in place. A shrill noise could be heard from the tension upon the blades. The half-dwarf woman must have done something. The Shade was too busy holding her block and scowling at the man. A faint crackling was heard from behind her back, like the sound of wood splintering. Vavrin thought nothing of it, and with her strength she brought her sword downward quickly, pushing aside the man's sword and taking a step back.
The Shade held her sword up in front of her and examined it with narrowed eyes. A long etch ran along the lower-half of the blade.

Raylborn quickly took a few steps back, staring into the shades eyes. "This has gone long enough, now go back to your petty master before your death." He looked behind her, noticing a splintered chair. He raised a brow, looking at Andvari and smiled to himself. He pointed the tip of the blade at the shade. "Be gone demon." He said, his eyes flashing with bravery, with anger. The shade had no more business here, and to his surprise they were a somewhat even match. If they kept on fighting, he would win. His confidence against this shade had risen dramatically, through all the events that had happened in this short period of time.

Andvari cursed as she missed the shade by a mere inch, unforutnetly the chair was not as sturdy as she had hoped, it was a mass of broken timber now. The table seemed to have stood the blow with only a few scratches though. Not really caring about the condition of the table at this moment she picked up a broken chair leg and hefted it in one hand like a club. One mishap wasn't going to get her down. She caught Raylborn's small gesture and ignored it, that could wait till later, right now she was watching the shade intently. 'she makes one twitch and I'll knock her out.' Vari thought taking the anger she had at her poor skill in aiming and directing it at the dark clothed shade.
((OOC: ....So what happened to the chair? It just broke on her and she never felt it...magic? I think I'm overlooking something obvious <-< >->)) ((OOC: *edited* lol, thanks.))
