Finding the Varden

Eragon heaved a sigh, this was getting out of controll. One slip of his tounge, and now Raylborn, and everyone else in the room knew of Oromis, not directly, but they knew. "Jex, you were not told for a very good reason. I ask that all of you and your dragons not speak of this to anyone. It could jeprodize our asset."

Well, maybe we should warn Glaedr to be more careful. Saphira suggested.

Just how can he do that, he is a dragon. Any creature that is in the forest surely knows of him. Eragon responded. Even Saphira made ill considered conjectures somtimes.

Jex ignored everybody this was his way of cooling off. He soon opened his mind back up to Draith. I’m sorry. He said to Draith. It is ok you are forgiven young rider. Jex was glad Draith had forgiven him so easily. I guess your use to me. Jex said putting a smile back on his face. Yes I am and I knew you would do that. Sometimes I just have to force logic into your head. Draith said.

“You are right Lira forgive me for my out burst. I just thought you all had been informed on this except me.”

Jex said putting his hands behind his back.

"I promise not to tell anyone of this and Draith will do the same."

Jex said looking at Eragon.

"It is understandable. And its ok about the outburst. We all have our.........erm.......moments. We all wish to know what we don't because we htink we should. but people have their reasons. Sometimes their reasons are just....."

Pike looked around at everyone with a questioning eye. "Sorry, I didn't know all this was a big deal..." he said, shaking his head and laughing a little. "If it's any consolation, I ate the flock of birds for lunch that day, so your secret is safe as far as they're concerned."

"Yes, you have my word as a rider," Pike said, bowing.

Raylborn let out a deep sigh at the fuss. Jex, the small one, had had an outburst because he hadn't been told something blah. He needed to control himself. He looked around at everyone and raised an eyebrow. "So...what exactly did you want to see me about?" He said, trying to forget the events that had occured moments ago. Start fresh, ((OOC: Post in order )) and have a civilized conversation. He had never thought that riders would be so hard to handle. But it did come with youth, they were naive and stubborn. He had once been that way.

Pike sighed and shook his head. "Simply said, we would like to train in... that weird Elven land, Pike said, trying to remember the name. "Forest and I need some training and we would need to become stronger, so we figured this would be the best decision."

And we would like to continue staying on the Neutral side, Forest added. We will fight for you when the time comes, but we do not want the Varden name.

Raylborn clapped his hands. "Weren't we about to send young Jex on his way Eragon?" He said and glanced around to meet his eyes. Would the elves allow one not siding for them to get trained? He didn't know, but repeated the thought. "Would the elves allow one not siding for them to get trained?" He asked, looking from Eragon to Pike, awaiting an answer. He would think no, but you could never know. The elves were a strange people, he didn't know if anyone would ever understand them.

"I fight for the Varden and the people, Pike said, looking at the wall towards Forest again. "I hope that will be enough to satisfy them."

Yes, it had better, Forest said, looking at the other dragons. The elves will need our helps for the sake of our race and theirs. They cannot live like this forever and Galbatroix will only get stronger. They'll need whatever help they can get.

Pike looked at Eragon, an odd smile on his face. "And please don't say 'That's exactly why you should join the Varden side' cause that isn't going to work."

Jex heard Lord Raylborn say. “Weren't we about to send young Jex on his way Eragon?" His face lit up with happiness. Draith they are sending us to train with this elder rider! Jex informed him. I told you patience pays off. Draith said to his rider. Yes and you were right as always. Jex said already regretting it. So next time think before you talk. I understand you are young and this may take some time but I’m just asking you to try. Draith said. Jex looked at Raylborn.

“So you are sending us to train with the elder rider?”

He asked not taking his eyes off of Lord Raylborn.

Jex tuned his had to face Lira. Training here? He thought.

“I am sure there is nothing here that you couldn’t learn there.”

He said trying to think of a solution before anyone else. He couldn’t find one not one reason. What could it be? He asked Draith. I do not know? I know only what you know about the elves and that is they have pointed ears, they are stronger than humans and now they know magic. Draith said. I guess you do have a point. Jex said.

Pike looked over at Eragon and smiled. "Yes, Eragon Shadeslayer, were you planning on training us here?" Pike asked him. He punched the air slightly like air boxing and laughed. "See what we're made of, eh?"

You're so weird... Forest said. Pike felt a push in his head and he fell over slightly.

That was so not cool...[/color] he said to him, giving him a shove back.

Jex turned to Pike as he spoke. He noticed Pike had stumbled a little as he finished.

“Pike if you can’t stand how do you expect to fight?”

Jex asked laughing. Jex let Draith join as one in his mind so he could hear and see what was going on in the room. Hopefully that little bit of training you had will help you with the training. Draith said. It depends on what kind of training it is. Speed and stealth I can do but not much else. Jex said. We will hope training isn’t speed and stealth then. Draith said pondering what training would be. Why? Jex asked his gray dragon. So you can become strong in your weaknesses.

Pike laughed a little, pulling his back. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the arrow head, motioning towards Jax. "Would you like to see how I fight, bow?" he asked, his eyebrows raising a little. A happy smile creeped up on his face as he moved back slightly. He stood up and tucked the arrow head back into his pocket. "It's been long since I sparred anyone sept bears and Forest."

Will you behave yourself? Forest shouted at Pike. He shook his head and looked at the other dragons. Humans...

[Merlin ~]

"Soon enough I will be sending you on your way to Ellesmera," He paused to nod at Lirael at her comment. She could be right. "Training here? Ah, I think Eragon will likely teach you how to fly. Possibly how to handle a sword if you need to learn so?" He said, eyeing Jex especially here. "Other than that, you should be ready soon enough. It will be hard and you must all persist. It doesn't matter if your tired, do not complain and keep at it. In the long run it will pay off, and that is something that I am very very sure of. You are the next generation, serve us well." He said with a smile.

Lira looked at Eri "I don't think Eri is big enough to be flown yet. I know a bit about handling a sword but not much. And I think we all know how hard this will be. Already our lives have changed greatly. I for one will not give up Lord Raylborn"

Eragon thought about what was said, he did plan on seeing what the knew riders were made of, but more extensive training would be under Oromis. Then he remembered his promis to return, "I think I would like to train them some here, then we can travel to Du-Weldenvarden. I think they would train Pike, under certain oaths."

Remember to mention that you are going too. Saphira told him.

I need time to think Saphira, I'm not so sure. Eragon answered.
