(oops sorry) Murtagh remained patiently where he was allowing Leinath to make the first move. When the boy did so he easily caught his sword on the flat of his own blade, blocking the attack. As Leinath continued the onslaught of attacks Murtagh easily kept up with him blocking every attack that was made. He was more than a match for this had had no trouble keeping up in speed or skill. As though in teasing Murtagh made no move to return any of the attacks. In a battle it would've seemed he was loosing or studying the enemy. It was more or less the later, but he wasn't doing so to find a weak point but to learn what Leinath knew already. After a while of letting Leinath attack and constant blocking of each one, Murtagh caught Leinath's blade on his own and flicked it away before driving the hilt of his sword at the boy's gut. It wasn't all that hard to do considering his skill and increased speed. "Not bad, but you still have a ways to go, you left me a few openings I could've taken against you, like that last one obviously," he said. "Again, but this time I won't hold back and don't expend so much energy in each hit, only use what you need."

Leinath kept attacking, getting a little frustrated when Murtagh didn’t return the attacks. How he was supposed to know how to defeat him when he didn’t knew his opponent’s way of fighting at all. He still had to admit that Murtagh moved incredibly fast, not letting any of his attacks get even close to hit him. When Murtagh suddenly decided to attack he blocked as fast as he could, but his sword jumped out of his hand, landing at some meters from him, making too much noise when it fell to the ground, finding himself with Murtagh’s sword on his gut, he knew perfectly that in a real battle he would be dead in that moment. He looked at Murtagh with obvious amazement and newly earned respect in his eyes, he never saw anyone as fast or experienced on the arts of the sword like Murtagh before, all the opponents he once defeated were slow and clumsy if compared to him.
When Murtagh talked he lowered his gaze lightly, he knew perfectly he still had a lot to learn, but never thought it was that obvious. He then thought on the fact of Murtagh’s experience and speed, which obviously were a lot greater than his own, to not feel bad about it, quickly regaining his composure and looking at him again. Once Murtagh gave his last instructions he went towards his sword, grabbed it and got ready again, this time aware of Murtagh’s speed and experience at least, he decided to get in a defensive posture, not attack directly and wait for the perfect moment. He started with a fast movement, but after that offensive movement, just as he planned, he went to an almost completely defensive posture.

Murtagh smiled seeing the boy's obvious amazement. He had trained for years and his title as Champion of the Empire wasn't an empty title. While he didn't like Galbatorix there were perks to it. His speed and strength had been increased and he had a hoard of Eldundari, he was every bit if not more Eragon's match. Those with little experience were nothing in comparison and he knew it. As Leinath retrieved his sword Murtagh case a spell to blunt the blade of his training sword. He didn't want to injure the boy any more than necessary. As the boy attacked he once again blocked the attack on the flat of his blade. Not soon after he went on the offensive as Leinath when on the defensive. At first he gave only a few teasing attacks giving the boy plenty of time to block them before he feigned a blow at the boy's legs only to abruptly change and *smack* hit him on his forearm. The idea was to make Leinath give an opening by feigning another attack.

When Murtagh started attacking, Leinath looked at his attacks carefully, half to evaluate them and half to block the successfully. He could tell for his expression that he was just teasing him, not even trying to show his real skills, and though in some way it frustrated him, he at the same time felt a little grateful for it, since he knew that it would be extremely hard for him to block all his attacks, and even more harder to find an opening or a opportunity to attack. When he blocked a blow that he thought that aimed on his legs, he felt a strong hit on his forearm, he wasn’t sure if Murtagh hit him with that strength on purpose or he didn’t noticed, since he was stronger than him. He felt his arm getting a little numb thanks to the hit, and knowing that something like that would give him a huge disadvantage he immediately grabbed the sword with the other hand and kept blocking, trying really hard to not fall on a trick like the last one again. He wasn’t as good with the contrary hand as the hand that he usually used to handle the sword, but it was still a really good opponent, plus, it would give his other arm time to recover from the hit, and then he would be able to fight normally again.
