Was his/her egg in the wild or with the empire/varden: Wild, it is actually said to have been created from the fire and heat instead of being laid by any dragon for he was said to be the first dragon to have come forth into the world to spew fire and heat the air.
If Dragon Rider, how did the rider find the egg?: (stolen, given, found in wild?) He has no rider for there is no way to bond with Inferno and any who have tried have burned up when they touched his scales that are hotter than the magma in the core of the world.
Age: No one actually knows Inferno's age as he has never been spotted by someone who could give a reasonable size description of what he looks like. From descriptions, people have estimated him to be as large as the core and to be what created the Earth so he would be as old as the planet that everyone stands upon.
Gender: Male

Eyes: Deep red with hints of gold as well as blue and white and green that almost shimmer like living flames inside his eyes.
Scale Color: Dark red, the color of magma, that is as hot if not hotter than any flame that has ever been created whether by magic or nature itself.

Appearance: (What does he/she look like? What stands out about him/her? Scars?) Inferno is massive in size having grown from the fires in the pits of the volcanoes throughout the world and when he is on the surface he towers over even the highest mountain making it look like an ant hill. His tail is so long that it travels the entire length of the Empire if extended all the way, barbed with pitch black spikes along the way. He has enormous wings that are said to cause the night to fall when he flies through the air and his head is such size that he can blot out the sun when he arches his neck and roars to the heavens. He has black claws and spikes as well as blindingly white teeth.

PERSONALITY
Inferno is ancient beyond belief an much like the flames within. Patient is he in view of what will happen while slow to anger. Yet when he gets angry it is well known for he causes massive eruptions and huge solar flares as well as heat waves. He may not be aggressive in nature but it is like a forest fire. If his anger is fueled then he goes on a rampage. Inferno rests below the surface, wise and old, waiting for the day some will come along and rebuild the Fire Citadel. It was once said that only a branch elder could bond with the guardian so Inferno lies below in waiting, refusing to be tamed by anyone.

Eons ago, a single sparked flared to life in the void of inky blackness that was and had been chaos in definition. It was of this spark that true fire burst to existance and out of the heat was birthed a strange creature that was scaled by hot to the touch with black spines over its back. Many breaths of wind blew forth creating the eternal flames as the creature stretched its wings and yawned loudly. Instantly heat emanated outward and Inferno fell into a slumber. Years passed and earth collected as the dragon slumbered on and grew massive in size. An eon later from its birth the dragon awoke and great fires shot into the sky causing large scale heat waves and terrible droughts that destroyed many people. It was this time that the dragon took flight above ground and people cowered in fear for they knew not what Inferno was. Blazing fires started where he landed and ground went dry where he breathed as many great warriors hunted this dragon for sport.

He caused much change and many heroes sought after this legend but none were destined to find him. Every one hundred years fires spewed to the heavens and mighty warriors charged forth as yet again Inferno took flight through the air with wings that created night. Each sighting was considered good luck if the beast were fortunate to miss a gazing human. More centuries passed and riders were established with strong citadels. Inferno traveled forth into the domain of man and met a being like him named Ender. More beings existed and they all agreed to form branches with the riders and be the guardians.

It was a prosperous time that was not meant to survive for soon the branches fell to disarray. When citadels collapsed Inferno refused to slow the Fire Citadel to fall with the rest. He valiantly protected but soon succumbed to weariness and fell to slumber in his volcanic resting place. Time passed and great tomes that told of Inferno were destroyed aside from four. One rested in the Empire with the king, another in the Elven kingdom, the third hid in the depths of the Nether as the fourth was passed through the Varden's hands. These four tomes told of Inferno and his might as he slumbered on, waiting for one worthy of riding him.

Looks good. But if he's that big, how can he not squash the entire continent and stay hidden? Or is that not meant literally?

That is very exaggerated in actuality he is only a third that size but humans don't like literal definitions.
