It is a small world. Every person in a tiny bit of the big world.

Um... I don't ever give my name out online, but a lot of the students at SCAD know me as the girl who wears the black hat with horns, or the girl who dresses up as Captain Jack Sparrow a lot. ;; Or they know me as zimmay, from my website.

That makes sense, I would never give my name out on the internet. Everyone just knows me as Torin or ThatScaryKid on every website I am on.

Aha! How do you like my new epoch? I used a (hopefully)less recognizable anime and it made him look waaaay cooler anyway. This would be much easier if I could draw, but hey I'm satisfied. What do you guys think? I am especially interested in hearing your opinion Gildor. Does it look too faked?

It doesn't look very fake, (except for the fact that the light sources on the face and hair are conflicting) but I'll be honest with you: it doesn't look particularly amazing either. The colors kind of clash, the text is bright and difficult to read, and the blurry background is kind of distracting. This is just my opinion, though, and I have certain tastes that make it biased. I believe a signature should be as long and as possible for the particular image in use so that it doesn't take up too much space, and that it should be centered. I also like it when the colors blend together with and complement the colors of the message board. If Arget were to change their colors, I'd probably change my icon and signature entirely so that it would mesh with it's surrounding colors.
...Sorry for the critque. I'm back in school now, and the artistic atmosphere is getting to my brain.

Hey, no hard feelings. I asked for a critique didn't I? Truth be told the background came with the image i altered, and it would be kinda difficult to change it, although not impossible. I'll probably make a new one in a while, with better colors, etc... Thanks for the critique.

Izzat Krad? *pokes* Nah, he doesn't have the giant bang waving in front of his face . . . Dark, then?

Nice!
*shudders at the Mac* Well, artistic types do benefit from Macs. Just not gamers.

Just wondering, do you always use that shading style? It's very tidy.

Post by Gildor on Jan 10, 2007 13:17:37 GMT -5
Nope. I shade however I feel like it for each drawing, unless it's a commission. For this one I'm trying to go for a veryvery soft-celled look... But if you mean do I always stay in the lines rather than abusing layers and go all over the place, then yes. I really don't understand how people can do that. x__x;;

Soft celled? I think Risu did that, or maybe it was Nobara. All I know about cell-shading is that it's solid, not smooth. *can't work solids*
Epoch, is the little orange line across the eye done on purpose? And you can try splicing characters like Franz from Count of Monte Cristo/Gankutsuou or Hotaru from Samurai Deeper Kyo. I'm not too sure it'll fit with the character, though . . .

I forgot I had this old thing: A picture of Oromis and Glaedr I did after reading Eldest for this first time. This is about a year old now... ew. No wonder it's so bad. Never got around to coloring it. Bleh.

Hope I don't get in trouble for this one. If I do, I'll gladly take it down. And for the record, I got Fadriendel's approval before sharing this: Gildor as Oro's prisoner, (because this seems to be the direction in which our current rp is going). I call this one, You're cute when you're Bleeding. Crap, I just realized I should have made Oro taller... x___x;;; *ducks from incoming bricks* And yes, as much as Gildor likes women, he goes both ways. ;;;
