((Bringing back an old favorite thread of mine Rhax made, the defend yourself thread, anyone can join and this will not effect plot(you meet here, you are still strangers in the actual rp threads this is more for fun) We can go to the death and have respawns if everyone who participates agrees on this. Just a place holder, 3 AM, not really a time to be posting just wanted to have this here for anyone who seems interested to know about it))
Ash had been running for a while with Iormungr in the skys. "Really Ash, how long are you going to look for this place? It doesn't seem to exist." "Quiet Iormungr, its here somewhere, we just have to look for it." Ash said, not looking where he was going and smashing face first into the giant arena the pair had been looking for. "OW OW OW OW I found it Iormungr but OW!!" "Oh, it really exists? The Colosseum? I thought it was a myth long past." "Well hopefully, other people got the message and are on there way. Wanna wander around while we wait and see what cool stuff is here?" "Oh why not. Lets go over here first" And with that they both started wandering aimlessly through the giant structure that appeared out of nowhere.
((EDIT: there, my post done, you can join and start now if you wanna))

Ri'Shei had reached the Colosseum a while ago and was sitting on its stone seats, arms resting on the seats behind her. The tall spartan had been disappointed not to find anyone here. At last she saw something in the sky - clearly a dragon. She smiled. Her two swords were at the ready. She wasn't fond of Riders. They would be a good match for her in a fight, but they could be show-offs. All the more reason to fight them, then.
"Oi! You!" she called as Ash came into view. She stood up and walked towards him at a leisurely pace. From closer up, she recognised him and his dragon. She didn't know their names, but they were with the Empire just as she was. Shifting a fold of the flowing dress-like toga she was wearing, the dark skinned woman let Ash have a glimpse of the hilt of her sword. "I'm with the Empire too, but until other people get here, do you fancy a spar?" she asked. As always with humans and elves, she was taller than him by a good foot or so and had to look down on him. That had been weird when she'd first left her tribe of fellow spartans to join the Empire and live among mostly humans, but she'd got used to it by now.

((Was wondering if someone else would post cause i am also doing this cause I need some practice to get back into rping)) "Sure thing! A spar would be a good thing right now." Ash yelled back. Ash got his blade Zar'rocs Ilian(( forgot the name of my sword so i had to copy+paste out of my bio wow it has been a while)) ready to fight. The hand-and-a-half sword glinted in the sunlight streaming in from the roof. Ash jumped and ran at his opponent, whose name he still didn't know, and swung his sword as fast as he could. As he was doing this lots of thoughts were running in Ash's head, quite annoying Iormungr who still sat on the other side of the colosseum-esque building that Ash and Ri'Shei were fighting in. Iormungr was still waiting though, for a rider, or a dragon of some kind. Well Iormungr, how bored are you right now?Iormungr jumped out of his scales, before remembering he still had Jackles Eldunari in his saddle bags. Oh you... I forgot you were with us, you hadn't said anything for a while there. Only a little bored, a fight would be nice right now.Yes, yes it would Iormungr... Now DON'T FORGET ABOUT ME AGAIN!!!!! Jackle screamed at Iormung. She hated being forgotten, especially by a dragon who was the one who captured her for the Empire's purposes. Oh, Jackle, you are here. So, what do you think of this place, it seemed to appear out of nowhere, Is it magic?Possibly, but not that I can tell. Also your opponent doesn't seem to be able too, but she might just be able to hid it from me. I have never seen someone of this... complection or even height before, except maybe the kull, but not many are magic users... It seems a possibility, but she doesn't seem to be human, elf, dward, urgal, razac, or anything else that I have encountered before. Be careful Ash."So, ma'am, if I might be so inclined to ask, what are you persay, because my compainion has said you are not entirely human, elve, dwarf, or any of the other races we have heard of in Alagaesia. Are you not from here then or are you something else entirely?" Ash asked Ri'Shei, never having heard of the Spartans recruitment, nor ever having seen one before. ((SO MUCH TYPING... its been a while since I have written this much))

Ri'Shei grinned to the tune of steel clashing on steel as her two slender blades were drawn from their sheathes. A few words in the Ancient Language blunted her blades as she didn't want to actually hurt Ash. The initial attack had been easy to dodge since Ash had simply ran at her, but aside from that the fight commanded her full attention. A thrill rushed through her at the challenge. Her movements were fluid, her strikes strong. As was to be expected from anyone who'd been a Rider for more than a few months, Ash was a match for her abilities. It was possible he could best her, but that was yet to be seen. She took a step back to avoid a hit, then without any pause put the foot back where it had previously been, swinging one sword at Ash.
His question was simple enough and she could think of no reason to deny him an answer. She liked that few people knew of her race; the majority of the spartans remained reclusive travellers in the Hadarac Desert. "I'm from Alagaesia. I am a spartan of the Hadarac Desert," the relentless sun and searing heat was why her race exclusively had very dark coloured skin. She ducked to avoid a hit. It was more awkward for her to duck due to her height, but she managed. While down there, she aimed a slash at Ash's hip. "We're kind of a mix of elves, dwarves, humans and Kull. As far as I'm aware, I'm the only spartan in the Empire. A few joined the Varden, I think, but most are still nomads wondering the desert," she informed him.
No sooner had she said that did she hear what could have been a voice and some footsteps from somewhere in the Colosseum. It was hard to tell, the round shape messing up the acoustics. "You hear something?" she asked Ash, alert. Perhaps his dragon might be able to see something from his perspective, too.

Ash dodged the hip slash barely, almost getting a sword stuck in a place no man wants a sword placed. "I don't see anything." Iorungr? Anything? I don't see anythi... Iormungr stopped abruptly. Hard to tell but it looks like a rider... yes, i can see them better now, its a rider and dragon, varden possibly, not entirely sure. Sure as heck never seen them in Urubaen at any rate "Yea, someone is out there, looks like another rider, possibly varden. Watch our backs? I don't know what Eragon and his dragon teach there usual little children they call riders, but it could be bad." Shouting out to whoever Iormungr had seen Ash yelled "Oi! Newcomer, come over here with us if you want to spar! One question though, varden or empire?"

((don't know anyone with ubuntu, what's it like?))
Ri'Shei tried not to look away from the sparring, instead taking Ash's word for it. It was true that the Varden Riders did have a tendency to be very young. A dragon could technically pick a Rider of any age and the magic through their bond would bring them into their prime regardless of prior physical condition, so age didn't really come into it when new Riders were made. Still, she supposed it was normally the young promising soldiers who were offered dragon's eggs. That also accounted for why their were many more male Riders than female. "The youngsters of the Varden tend to be too full of themselves. Young Riders lack experience in life in general. We could deal with one," she was fairly certain.
Hearing Saphone respond by saying he sided with the Varden made Ri'Shei smile. Dragons and Riders were the most highly valued warriors on either side, and those that preferred to use their minds made great strategists and could keep morale high and people in order. Ridding the Varden of another one would be of a great advantage to the Empire. Before Saphone could reach them, she said "We could pretend to start a friendly spar, then catch him by surprise with real injury-causing damage," in a hushed tone so Saphone couldn't hear. Her plan amused her.
"Great, we're with the Varden too. We were just sparring to practice our swordplay; fancy joining us? We could try two-on-one, although I'd have to be fighting with someone else since I'm not a Rider and you both are. Or we could try a free-for-all," she suggested.

"I know that you are lying and what you intend to do to me" Saphone said as he heard what Ri'Shei whispered. " I am warning you that if I am struck down you shall have the wrath of the Riders, Varden and elves upon you as well as my companion Tintaglia" "I am a close friend to Eragon Shadeslayer so do you still want to spar thats your choice" Saphone said all this as he prepared himself for whatever would come
