Appearance: David would not appear a magician at first glance, in fact, he looks more a warrior than anything else. He has a muscular build, something normal magicians did not have. He is tall, 6'1 to be exact, which with his build gives him a slightly scary appearance, most normal humans tend to stare clear of him because of it. When on the battlefield, he dons full body armor, which has been tinted black. He wears a single silver ring, which has a little red ruby. He keeps extra energy stored there, although it has been known to run dry. When not in battle, he wears normal trousers and a shirt, slightly baggy. he has a few battle scars. A small one on his right shoulder, a few jagged lines on his chest and arms. He has a clean back and face.. no scars.
Personality: David is a kind person, although he does not often interact with other people.. at least not before the war. Now he has to, but finds it awkward. He has a deep anger towards the Empire, because of loosing his father in the battle of Farthen Dur. In many ways, David is a loner. He did not take his father's place in the Du Vrangr Gata, instead he works alone. Only in big battles does he consort with the other magic users in that manner. He is strong willed and brave hearted, never shying away from a fight that could save others (or any fight with the Empire.) He admires Saphira, and dreams of becoming a rider, but knows it is almost impossible.

History: David was born in Dauth, Surda. His mother died in childbirth, leaving Zeus to take care of him. Zeus was a magician, and a pretty strong one at that. He was a member of the Varden, yet had come back to Surda with Nancy so David could be born above ground. He did not return for many years, and he had his reasons.
David grew up having little contact with anyone. Instead Zeus homeschooled him. He taught him the normal stuff most parents taught, yet he taught more. He taught David Magic. When David was 16, Zeus took him to Farthen Dur, where he continued his training.. he also joined the Varden.
The next 7 years David learned from multiple members of the varden magic, and sword fighting. He took some archery, yet was not very comfortable using a bow, so never used it in battle. Then Came the Dragon Rider Eragon..and the Urgals. David and Zeus fought with the Varden and dwarves to protect their home, yet his father fell to an urgal magician.. David was cursed with survival.
He mourned his fathers death, yet took out his anger and pain by trying harder than ever to help the Varden. He fought in the battle on the burning plains, Fenister, Dras Leona, and is now marching to the black throne to finally end this war.
He earned his nickname by, in battle, calling lightning down to electrify his sword
