Name: Heralda Eldunari

Who is will find/steal this Eldunari?: She is rescued by the Varden after the Battle of Uru'baen
Where will the Eldunari be found?:Seperate from Galbatorix's store of Eldunari, since he had yet to break her mind
Appearance: Heralda was a black Dragon, who was sleek for speed in the air, but was still muscular, like Saphira is now. The proportions of her body were balanced very well. her legs, while muscular, were sleek enough to allow them to cut through the air with ease, her body longer rather than thicker. Her wings muscular enough and thin enough for perfect flight. She was one of the best fliers in the Order before Galbatorix and the forsworn murdered them all. This was one of the reasons her and her Rider were able to live so long. Now as an Eldunari she is about a human head in size (if they were round) and Black as night, like she was as a Dragon.
Personality: Heralda was a very strong willed Dragon. She was scared of nothing.. or so she thought. When the forsworn and Galbatorix started to kill off all the riders, she became scared. Scared to loose her friends, both Rider and Dragon alike. Her mate, who was a wild dragon, died in the battle for Vroenguard, helped her master this fear until his death. She fought on though, only running when they had no choice. After her death and her Riders death, she became depressed, not caring about anything for many many years. Now though, she has a renewed vigor to help out her riders grandson and his dragon.

History: The female black Dragon hatched in Ilirea for Kronos, who had a chance to touch the egg like every other child at that time. She spent the first couple months of her life nameless and growing close to her Rider. When she was old enough to speak with her mind, her teacher Glaedr, Oromis (if this doesn't work, I can always change it) and Kronos taught her first words in the common tongue, and then began to introduce the ancient language. By this time she was old enough to fly, which Glaedr taught her how to do, although she showed a high aptitude of learning without instruction, often surprising even Glaedr.
They finished their training after 30 years and began their journey as Riders in full. First Kronos had a riders sword forged for him, named 'Kveykva', Then they went out on missions, mostly to push back urgals whom were trying to take human lands. When not given specific missions, they flew aimlessly around Alegaesia, trying to see as much as they could in case a giant war erupted in their time as Riders.
During their travels, Heralda met a wild Dragon, and mated with him. She had 3 eggs, and only gave one to the Riders.
By the time the riders were attacked by the Forsworn, They had seen most of the land, and were seasoned Riders, truely one. They fought long and hard in the battle for Vreonguard, but when things were apparent that they were going to loose, Kronos convinced Heralda to flee. They fled to Surda, and hid for many years, only encountering the Forsworn when they threatened Surda.
Then Brom encountered them, and convinced them to join the Varden. Heralda was anxious to get revenge on the egg breaker, but Kronos would have been happy to stay in Surda with his son Zeus. They flew out in many raids for the Varden, but met their fate at the hands of Morzan and his Dragon. Morzan tortured Kronos until Heralda gave up her Eldunari. He then murdered them both. Heralda died at the age of 150.
She then spent the next 49 years in darkness. She was depressed, and wanted nothing bu death. Not only was her Rider dead, but so was her mate.. and for all she knew all three of her children. She only came out of this depression when she felt Galbatorix try to break her mind..and she fought it with all the strength she had. Luckily, galbatorix was otherwise occupied most of the time, so she did not fall prey to his mind breaking. She was rescued by Eragon and Saphira, and learned of David and his newly hatched black Dragon...Zeus. Heralda was happy for the first time in 50 years.. Not only did her Rider's grandson survive this war.. but he was a Rider...with a Dragon that could very well be her own son.
She has now joined David and Zeus and helps them in their studies.
