His friendly brown eyes seem to bore right into your soul, something he no doubt learned from hsi adoptive father Hrothgar. he tends to wear blue pants and a blue top with the Ingeituim symbol on it. He of course wears his crown at all times, since it along side Volund are the symbol's of his kingship. His hands are calloused from many years working at the forge and training along side the other dwarves and varden. He, like all dawrves, have 14 toes, 7 on each foot, but of course it is never seen, since he always wears some sort of footwear.
While he is short, it is often forgotten, because his mere presence in the room tends to change the atmosphere, mostly due to his kingship.
Personality: Orik is a strong hearted person. He tends to let little to nothing get him down. His only blurbs being in concern with people around him dying..or feeling useless, like when he was supposed to be observing Eragon's training. This being said, he tries to be useful and is very helpful, even going against orders to save people's lives, Like Eragon. He could be considered a very loud person, yet most dwarves are like that. Since they do not have the advantage of being big to be noticed, they use their voices. Orik is a very caring person, and cares deeply for Eragon and Saphira. He would risk his life from people like Eragon to the lowliest peasant. The King is very smart, both in battle strategy and in politics, which lead to him being elected. He is sometimes blunt, but rarely means to cause offense.
In conclusion, he is an example of the perfect King. One who cares for the people, no matter what race, and not for himself.

Family:
Thrifk-Father (dead)
Helda-Mother (dead)
Hrothgar-Uncle/Adoptive Father(dead)
Eragon- Adoptive Brother.
History:
Born to Thrifk and Helda. They both died of the Pox when Orik was 10. The King Hrothgar, who was Oriks uncle, adopted Orik and made him his heir. Orik was a trouble child, and got into trouble quite a lot, one of these times Hrothgar sent him to the forest of stone to reflect on his wrong doings. Later Orik ran away and killed a Nagra, in hopes it would appease Hrothgar, which both worked and didn't. Hrothgar was mad because Orik nearly died in an idiotic attempt, but he was appeased because of his bravery, since only the bravest Dwarves hunt Nagra.
Later in life Orik joined the varden as the representative from the dwarf clans. After many years, he disobeyed orders and saved Eragon from drowning, this lead to his disbandment from the Varden, and Orik because Eragon's guide. The two later became friends, and fought side by side in the battle for Farthen Dur. Soon after that Eragon became his half brother, and Orik grew even closer to the Rider.
Orik was then sent off to Ellesmera to oversee Eragon's training, as an envoy from the Dwarves. His time here was often spent at the bottom of a bottle, because he missed his fiance Hvedra, and the rocks and mountains he called home. Eragon was often too busy to spend time with him, and Arya wasn't able to spend every second of his stay with him. He watched Eragon train many times, and was sometimes the Riders confident with matters over his love interest. When the time came to return to the Varden, Orik left eagerly..even if it meant flying a dragon.
During the battle of the burning plains, Orik fought alongside 6 of his brethern, 6 Urgals, and Eragon. He slew many Empire soldiers, suffer few wounds, but watched in despair as Murtagh struck down Hrothgar. After the battle, He returned to the mountains with his people as the painstakingly long process of electing a new monarch began.
First was becoming the leader of the Ingetium, which was the easier of the two feats. Then soon after that Eragon came to speed along the process. They went to Farthen Dur..where they spent almost a week in meetings. What tipped the balance was an attempt on Eragon's life. Orik used this to his advantage to aliminate one of the potential kings, and gain support from a couple other clans. He was elected king and began the movement for the dwarves to rejoin the war.
They did at Dras Leona, Orik lead the dwarves in the assault, and prevailed, like he always did. Now he helps lead the Dwarves in the assault on Uru'baen
Anything extra: Hope you aprove on what I named his mother And next time I read Inheritance, I shall change the name of his birthplace to the actual name, not just the homeland.
