Full Name: Aedan Thraensson
Other name:
Race: Half-Elf
Side: Neutral - Varden if it comes down to it.
Birthplace: The outskirts of Du Weldenvarden.
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Birthday: Winter Solstice
Eyes: A bright gold colour.
Hair: White
Weight: 200
Height: 6'8
Magic User: Yes
Preferred Weapon(s): A bow with a quiver that seems to be always full and two twin short swords strapped onto his back.
Appearance: Aedan's appearance is, as with any half-elf, a curious mix between an elf and a human, making it difficult for him to blend into either culture. His white hair and gold eyes, exceptionally odd features for any human, obviously come from his elven father, as do his angular features, slightly pointed ears and height. His human mother's side gave him his larger, more human build, his slightly more square jaw than most elves, and the ability to grow a beard, although with his heritage being as elven as human, he finds that he can't grow it much beyond a medium stubble. Aedan rarely wears normal clothes, unless he feels completely at ease and is usually found wearing black leather armour with shoulder pads made of multiple, slightly harder leather pads, one on top of the other to give off a layered effect. Over this he wears a brown hooded cloak, clasped at the neck, which then drapes over his shoulders and falls down his back. His skin has a light tan to it, from traveling outdoors for a long time. His hair is usually quite messy and unkempt, and he doesn't really find the need to do anything with it unless looking smart is absolutely necessary. The twins short swords that he owns are both heavily enchanted by himself to prevent them from breaking, although they can still be broken under exceptional force, and they each have a white wolf's head made of pale stone and with eyes made from chips of garnet carved into the pommel. His bow is not much different from a standard bow, except for the intricate carvings on it.
Personality: Due to growing up in Ellesmera, where half-elfs are almost always looked down upon by the proud, some might say snobby pure elves that live there. Aedan's childhood was no exception. Due to this, he has become very reserved with his emotions and will not easily reveal how he truly feels to anyone who he doesn't like or trust. He is, however, quite a friendly person to those people that he knows and is rarely upset or angered. He has never met his mother nor been told her name. This is quite a sore point for him and he is easily offended, or upset if anyone should bring it up to hurt him. Aedan is also an gifted magic user, and this is apparent in the strong spells he can cast and the relative ease in which he can do it.
--->Likes: Magic, tolerance, nature, skill at arms, honesty, justice.
--->Dislikes: Intolerance, oppression, injustice and cruelty.
--->Strengths: Exceptional magical ability, skilled archer and good swordsman.
--->Weakness: Expressing his feelings to others, lack of a mother, finds it difficult to blend into either human or elven cultures.
Family:
Thraen Orophersson - Elf father.
Unknown mother - Human mother.
History: Aedan was born to a night full of mistakes between an Elven warrior traveling on business for the queen and a young human woman who offered him hospitality for the night in a small town near the borders of Du Weldenvarden. This Elf, who's name was Thraen returned to the town about a year later on his return to Ellesmera, and visited the kind woman who had given him a 'place to stay' the previous year. When he arrived, he found the woman on the edge of death due to an illness and with a small child who could, by his features, only be described as his. Feeling sorrowful for the burden he had placed on the young woman and the child who would most likely soon be an orphan, he did his best to ease the woman's pain and took the child, who was his son with him to Ellesmera where he would raise him as best he could.
Needless to say, Aedan grew up being looked down upon by many of the Elves who he met because of his mixed blood and appearance. He did, however, earn some of their grudging respect when he began to beat some of the more experienced young elves in sword duels and archery contests. Aedan always thought how lucky he was to have inherited the speed and agility of the elves, if not quite their ethereal nature or their grace. As much as he was one of them in culture and appearance, he knew he would never be fully accepted into the elven community. The elves knew it too. He was never told what became of his mother, no matter how much he pressed his father into talking about it. The truth was, that Thraen wasn't sure himself whether he had successfully healed her or if he had just eased her passing from this life. He wasn't sure he wanted to either, so he never went back to see what became of her.
Aedan grew unhappy with how poorly he was being treated by the elves. He had made some friends among those who weren't prejudiced, and he counted those few as some of the best people that he would ever know. Having once sung a bow out of a tree, he had a brilliant grasp of magic and the ancient language. He wasn't very good at singing, though. One day, just after his 21st birthday, he decided to simply leave the forest and explore the rest of Alagaesia. When he left, however, he ofund the world in more chaos and war than he thought would be possible.
