I'm drunk, aren't I?' thought Ragdar to himself. Staring glossily out, he lulled his head. Funny how deep you could stare at an object. Squinting at Elias, he noticed the Lord bobbing his head like a drunk man. Giving a manic cackle, Ragdar said, "Ey, Lord Elias, don't tell me you're drunk. Though I must say, this wine is quite something. My regards to our good sir Brock. I know, we'll marry him with the most beautiful woman we can find!" hiccups interrupting him. In anger, he took another gulp of wine as if to fix the hiccups.
Lenora continued to guzzle the contents of the barrels until ten empty barrels surrounded the table Elias and Ragdar were seated around. Finishing the last one, she fell onto her back awkwardly. Rubbing her scales on the ground underneath her and shaking around like a child playing in the snow, she began to hiccup herself. Awkward, loud hiccups. Ragdar felt it especially thanks to his heightened senses as he swiftly put a hand to his ear. Soon after however, he went back to lulling his head like a drunkard. One small boy passed by with his parents and pointed out Elias and Ragdar. The parents pulled his arm down as soon as they saw who he was pointing at and hurried along.
"You're drunk, the both of you. God damn it, you fools. Ragdar, wake up for a moment. Let Lenora enjoy herself, but you need to sober up. Cast a spell on yourself and Elias." Fundor scolded Ragdar who, at first waved him off. However, when Fundor got persistent and pressured his mind, he consented. Casting a spell to sober himself up, he shook his head and gulped down an entire glass of water.
Having finished his meal, he stood up and brushed off his clothes. Moving to stand on Elias' side, he snapped his finger, casting a spell to sober up Elias. "I must say, that's some fine wine. Wouldn't be a bad idea to trade some spices among other food ingredients. Guess I was carried away though. I prefer to be sober at all times. It's why I tend to keep from drinking more than two glasses of wine. Anyway, Lord Elias, now that we've settled that business, mind if I asked a favor?" without waiting to hear his response, he continued, "Spar with me. I've not had an honest to god spar in a long time. The few spars I've had have been training spouts for my soldiers. Besides, in my opinion the easiest way to get to know someone is through a good spar. A warrior's sword is part of him and it rings out with his heart. What do you say? I'll dull both our blades, of course."

Laughing to himself and to Ragdar. Elias had never noticed how beautiful the country side was when it was swaying back and forth ever so slightly. Looking up at Ragdar opening his eyes wider to have a better look at him he laughed at his comment " Aye Ragdar I'll tell you a secret I may be a little shhh it's a secret remember. The wine is good I must say Ragdar. Aye we should get Brock a good and beautiful wife especially with this wine."Squinting at Ragdar as he hiccuped Elias also took a drink of his wine.
Seeing Lenora drink he laughed it is quite a thing to watch a dragon drink and ten barrels. Each one was positioned around the dining table laughing as she fell awkwardly onto her back. Elias blinked as he saw the family walk past and the child point Elias shook his head as the parents pushed their child along trying to not be noticed by him and his company.
He looked puzzled as Ragdar rose from the table as if nothing had happened well it was time to sober he thought but that was no fun he though drowning his rational thoughts away with the rest of the wine in his glass and filling it up once again preparing to drink it all but he stopped first smirking at the half finished meal in front off him he quickly ate it and went back for the wine.
Watching Ragdar walk over to him Elias set down the glass from his lips and looked up at him. As soon as his hand reached his shoulder Elias felt great he wasn't drunk wobbley or any other symptom of drunkenness he grabbed for the water next to him and pored himself a glass and downed it and took another glass and drank it to. " Please excuse me but yes that was some wine. Yes the extra trade would be good to help with some finances to help the city grow. I believe we both where carried away but I must agree it is no place for any find of politician or leader to be seen drunk I'm usually not like this when serious decisions are to be made. Sure make any request and if it's able of me then I will gladly grant it." Waiting while Ragdar told him his request." Aye I can grant this I agree with you totally the only way to know what kind of man one is. Is to fight with him and see what kind of warrior he is." Elias drew his sword and handed it to Ragdar waiting for Ragdar to blunt it.

Finally back to his sober normal self, and with a spar to warm his blood, Ragdar grinned. Lenora remained drunk - he'd let her enjoy herself much as she could. Taking out Arucane, he cast a spell to dull the blade. Grabbing Elias' sword, he did the same. Before he asked to commence though, he began stretching. First he started with his arm stretching, then moved on to stretch his leg muscles. Having cracked all the joints in his body finally and worked out all the clinks, he stood up straight again. Just in time to see his retainers spot him
Dashing up to Ragdar and Elias with a disapproving look, they turned to Elias and bowed. The oldest one, a man who seemed to be in his forties spoke, "My apologies, Lord Elias. We did not mean to intrude like this. Not only did we come uninvited, but Lord Ragdar sneaked off on his own and bothered you so much. We are truly sorry milord.", his head bowed.
With a bored yawn and a stretch, Ragdar said, "Let it drop Daimo. For one, we've settled our business here. Hopefully trade shall begin very soon among other political actions. You may return home now." waving his retainers off. Sure, it was their job to do this but couldn't they sense the mood? Both Lords were happy and enjoying themselves.
"But milord, what about you? You've idled out enough. Don't you think it's time that you return home?" argued Daimo, his voice showing how displeased he was.
"It's alright, everything's fine for now. Nothing requires my immediate attention. Besides, my time is, for now, best spent outside of Dras-Leona." Ragdar waved the man off.
Fuming with rage, Daimo got into Ragdar's face and pulled off by far the bravest or most stupid idea in the world as he said, his tone full of disrespect, and anger, "Stop being a little child god damn it. You're a Lord, your people need you. Stop wasting your time and disgracing your father's name."
Eyes burning with fiery rage, Ragdar turned to Daimon and walked straight to him. Daimon was tall, but Ragdar was much taller and he towered above him. A fiery rage and arrogance entered his voice as he said, "Listen well Daimon. You will never use that tone with me again, am I understood? In addition, if you ever mention my father to me again there will be no words exchanged. Do I make myself crystal clear?"
Gulping down, Daimo nodded as he said, "Understood milord. My apologies milord. I was out of line. We shall take our leave then if you don't mind, Lords." with a bow as he turned with the rest of the retainers. Ragdar sighed. He hated having to use force to scare any of his subjects, but sometimes like then he had to.
Turning back to Elias, he grinned again. Gripping Arucane with two hands, he took his stance, keeping his sword low in the middle. "Alright then Elias. Let's see what you're made of. Show me what it was that made you Lord. Make sure you don't hold back." he gestured for Elias to come for him, a smile on his face. He wouldn't use any magic in this fight. He'd only use what Elias would use. In this case, a sword.

Working on taking off his armor as Ragdar started stretching this would be a fair fight. Also Ragdar had no armor on and what use was a good fight if one had a unfair advantage. Finally with his armor off and in his black cotton trousers and his dark blue shirt. Elias started stretching doing a few arm rotations and lifted his legs one at a time to the small of his back. Finishing off with a head rotation Elias sat on the grass as he saw some men run up to them.
Taking a deep yawn and stretching his arms behind his back oh great these must be the retainers that Ragdar was talking about as the ran awkwardly towards them as if they had never ran before. " No apologies are in order, besides you don't need an invitation if I'm in a public place this is as much yours as it is mine. Ragdar has given me no grief if anything, and I'm sure he can tell you the same thing we made each others day interesting. No apologies are needed I was glad to have Ragdar."
Eyeing Ragdar and his retainer as he spoke Elias spoke as soon as Ragdar was finished. "Aye that is true large amounts of trade will soon be one it's way both in and out of Dras-Leona. Also we've some to terms for an alliance between us so as your master said we are all but done here so you can leave."
Contempt with listening to Ragdar and his retainer Daimo was it? It was funny looking how different Ragdar and Daimo where this will not end well for Daimo if he continues speaking the way he was. Elias nodded his head and stood up and walked over to the other end of the field so that he could look over the entirety of Feinster. Watching the city bustle down below he smirked and lied back and looked up at the clouds with his hand behind his head. Elias shut out the world around him and focused on the smells around him and the sky above him.
Elias continued to watch the clouds in the sky he had even seen a few hawks fly by and trying to imagine what the clouds looked like. A rabbit there, ship, and a few others he smiled to himself I'm acting like a child he thought but what was so bad about that nothing in particular being a child was fun no responsibilities no worries.
Snapping out of his day dream he sat up and looked over at Ragdar and Daimo was in his face and disrespectfully so great he's one of those people Elias thought. This will not end well if he continues like this he thought. Then when Ragdar snapped back Elias had expected it the damned retainer should now his place no subject should act like this under the circumstances there was no reason to be mad at Ragdar what so ever he had done well gained trade and an ally.
Watching Ragdar grin Elias shot one right back at him. Grabbing his own sword he took a wide footed stance gripping it with one hand and putting his other hand in fist near his chest and his sword in front of his fist not blocking his vision. Elias raised his eyebrows at Ragdar's comment " I won't hold back if you don't Ragdar let's also see what made me think you are a worthy friend" Elias feinted towards Ragdar and then went for a rib shot.

Ragdar was fast and strong. Thanks to his late fathers' intrusion he had been equal to most any Elf in physical and mental prowess since he was 20. This skill only continued to increase over the years. Now, as he was he was confident that he could take on almost any opponent. However despite all this he was taken by surprise at Elias' move. For one, he had to admit that the man had honor and strength. Elias has taken off his armor, leaving him and Ragdar exactly equivalent in gear. On the other hand, he moved so fluidly and swiftly with such power that Ragdar was surprised for a moment. Had it not been for his multitude of years in training he'd have been hard pressed after that first swing of Elias'.
However as it were, Ragdar saw through the feint and quickly sidestepped to avoid the blade that quickly changed its direction to his ribs. Considering neither of them was wearing armor any hit would hurt a lot. Though the blades may be blunted, that didn't mean they wouldn't hurt. Even, if enough force was used at the right location serious damage could occur. Ergo, he preferred to not swing for target. Rather, his target was an inch away from any vital locations on Elias' body. By the same token he would make sure to dodge or parry anything sent at him. Last thing he wanted was to go home with bruises among other things.
With so many thoughts running through his head and adrenaline pumping through him, Ragdar was absorbed into combat. With one fluid motion, he twisted his body and aimed a parry at Elias' sword, aiming to throw his sword up above their heads. Quickly afterwards he sent Arucane into a deadly arc aimed towards Elias' side. "Not bad if I do say so myself, Elias. Though I daresay you'll find yourself enjoying this. That is so long as it lasts." he told Elias, his voice thick with arrogance and fiery adrenaline. It wasn't every day he managed to find himself sparring with someone to enjoy his time. The few spars he'd had the past while were all for training.

After taking off his armor Elias was rid of about sixty to seventy pounds of dead weight leaving him to move and dodge better. Sure he had also taken off his armor so that he and Ragdar would be more even but also to not give Ragdar the advantage of speed because in any fight speed is key. Elias knew the first hit wouldn't land a mark, he had only been testing Radar movement and so far this would be no easy fight for either of them. Elias smirked as Ragdar was taken by surprise he had probably guessed Elias to be some hack and slash giant. After all who could blame him Elias looked like someone who would use sheer force to over whelm some one in battle . But that was not Elias's style at all he tried to use his mind more than his body to plan the moves before they had even come into play.
As soon as Ragdar sidestepped Elias went to retract his blade so that he would have considerable control of it. Planning his next move Elias would have to evenly be on the offensive and defensive if he where to last in this fight. Try not to get hit he told himself easier said than done watching Ragdar's body movements holding his blade in front of himself he waited for Ragdar to make a move before he continued. After all he didn't want to be in pain for the next couple of day if he did get hit/
Adrenaline beginning to pump through out his body to Elias the only people he worried about at this moment where Ragdar and himself. Watching Ragdar movement he held tightly onto his blade so that it would not go flying. Elias went down to black Ragdar sword keeping silent the entirety of the time.

((It's aight. Not like I'm making it much better with my insanely delayed posts e.e))
Giving a smirk, Ragdar asked, "Now now, that's no fun. We can enjoy a chat over a fun spar, can't we? After all, we're just really feeling each other out. Why don't we get a bit serious now?" feeling his sword slam into Elias'. Most normal men would've had their arm's bones jarred but Ragdar barely felt it. With his stroke blocked, he stepped back quickly to keep his momentum in check. "Swordplay seems to be right on. However, how are you on your feet?" he asked Elias, an arrogant tone in his voice as he began sidestepping. "One, two. One, two. Good, very good." Ragdar said as he circled Elias. Elias was tall, but Ragdar was still even taller standing a good few inches higher. With his muscled build, one would expect him to be a bulky man. In reality, Ragdar was not bulky but rather lean. He made sure he balanced out training between his upper body muscle and his lower body muscle so that it was all balanced and nothing felt off.
Circling Elias, Ragdar began to feint with quite a bit of realism. He knew that no matter who it was, they'd be fooled by at least one of the feints. After all, he had not spent almost a year or two training as the Elder of the Fire Branch and about ten years in the Empire for nothing. There was a reason he had been considered a menace. "That's enough feeling around, isn't it Elias? Let's get serious now, shall we?" he asked Elias, tightening his grip on Arucane and shifting his stance. Sheathing Arucane, he stood with his feet apart, right foot forward, right hand slung across his chest to hold the handle of Arucane in it's sheathe. It was not a common fighting style. Few now-a-days had the ability to use this kind of a stance and come out unscathed. "Quick Sheathe. Seems like a fitting name, don't you think? I thought this up myself but I'm pretty sure someone already used this style before me. If they did, though, it's not recorded. Come at me with all you've got Elias. Don't hold back." he warned as he prepared his body. Tranquil at first like a forest, then quickly in one fell swoop like a tiger. He waited for Elias to make his move before he did, preparing to counter it with both mobility and strength.

Raising his eyebrow at Ragdar he responded " That sounds like a bit of arrogance I'm hearing , that could get you hurt don't you know?" Elias said smoothly as Ragdar's blade rang against hit glad he had given himself better control of his blade. He could feel the tension in his hands grow as the hit rung through only making his knuckles white as he held on. Locking his gaze on Ragdar as he moved away from him glancing over his body movement to anticipate a strike. As soon as Ragdar started circling him. Elias held his ground circling himself to position himself to where he had a full view of Ragdar hearing the arrogance flow out of his mouth as he spoke " Now I know your being cocky, so that's your Achilles heel ay you should keep that in check a little better there my friend." Poised in a fencing position at Ragdar with his right foot in front of his left which was trailing behind which held his balance and was a great offensive and defensive stance.
Feeling stupid afterwards Elias jabbed at one of Ragdar's feints immediately drawing back to him self. Such a fool he thought to himself holding himself high looking at Ragdar the entirety of the time he thought. Jeering at Ragdar Elias said " Oh serious now here you had me thinking your arrogance was your secret weapon and you where being serious" Watching Ragdar as he changed his stance Elias quickly changed his own holding his sword in both hands with his feet shoulder width apart. Swaying side to side to stay mobile and balanced all at once Elias took long shallow breaths letting them out slowly. He continued to watch Ragdar for any movement slightly swaying his sword to block any incoming strike. " I believe it is your turn to come at me unless that fancy technique is only for defense but that's not my problem now is it this may not be a style that I am not familiar with but I've survived this long by adapting this won't be any different." Gazing at Ragdar waiting for the strike to befall him waiting to parry it and hopefully not get hit in the process.

Ragdar smirked arrogantly. He knew he was being arrogant but it was part of his character. With his fiery determination he knew he could do anything. "See, the thing is I know I'm arrogant. All the same, I'm still quite careful. I wouldn't let my arrogance be the death of me, don't worry. But now you've got me excited. I'll take this dead serious. In fact, I've not ever used this style save once before." he stopped, remembering that one time. An assassin had tried to kill him. Of course, it hadn't worked well for the assassin. Smirking again as he thought back, he told Elias, "It's not only for defense. In fact, it's best for offense. However, I must warn you that this might hurt. I can't quite stop this within an inch of you."
Taking a deep breath, seconds turned into what he felt like centuries as he listened to Fundor and Jura, "Ragdar, be careful. This could do quite some damage. Make sure not to hit him too hard." Fundor warned him. Ragdar waved it off mentally.
He knew the risks here. However, he trusted that he could control his strength. For all he knew, Elias might be able to avoid part of the attack, even if not all. With a dull blade it would just give a slight bruise. However if the blade wasn't dulled then even one of the strikes would've been enough to kill.
Noticing Elias' new stance, he told him, "Well then. I hope you're prepared. I'd say you should be proud that I decided to take you this serious. After all, there aren't too many men in this age to match up to me if I do say so myself." Gripping the handle of Arucane, he looked Elias in the eye with his fiery eyes. He promised the fact that Elias would be fine. He had heard quite a bit of the man from his troops. Quickly, he dashed forward hand still on the handle with Arucane still sheathed. He dashed with insanely fast speed, and as he got within range he unsheathed Arucane and with one fluid motion took two arcs at Elias, one vertical and the other horizontal along with a third stroke that went so fast it was practically invisible. He had held back as much as he could, given the stance he was using. Following up that fluid motion, he sheathed Arucane back and stood behind Elias. This was the end of the duel. Either he won it all.. or he lost it all.

Elias continued to wave his blade slightly as Ragdar spoke. Slightly smirking as his comment and the look he had in his eyes " Good at least you know you know you are that would help you some. You had better be careful here I have the feeling this is about the end of our spar. Oh great now you want to put your trust in a move you've only ever used once. You must be mad or something." Elias said chuckling noting the pause Elias made it back to his defense holding himself high again waiting for Ragdar. Smirking Elias said " Well then let us see what makes it such a great offense then. Pain my friend is only a state of mind my friend I may feel it but as I said a state of mind. Well I hope you don't intend on stopping the strike besides I want to see what you are capable of so shall we begin?"
Elias took a deep breath through his nose and let it out of his mouth. He nodded to himself I must be mad trying to do this but what good is life with out risk he took a few more breaths "Having any second thought there Ragdar?" Elias asked.
Standing motionless in the field a slight breeze had taken over ah he thought this is nice he thought still looking at Ragdar as he thought to himself the attack would hurt him physically sure but other that that there would be no after effects. Elias shrugged his shoulders and braced himself for Ragdar's strikes.
Elias blinked quickly as Ragdar spoke " Trust me Ragdar I'm as ready as I will ever be. Oh that hurts me you weren't taking me serious and here I thought we both were taking each other seriously. Well finding worthy opponents is fairly hard when most of the good ones are off in the army or trying to take their own pieces of land" Elias held his ground watching as Ragdar readied his attack. As Ragdar dashed towards him Elias took a deep breath before defending. Ragdar was insanely quick when he got within striking distance Ragdar's blade flashed towards him like a ravaging wolf the first two strikes Elias parried with some physical strain and the third he could pick up but instead of moving to parry it the blade smashed into his ribs making him fall to his knee the force of the blow had twisted his body so he was now looking at Ragdar's back. Raising his blade with his Right hand he rested it directly in the middle of Ragdar's Jugular vein. Wincing at the pain Elias spat a glob of blood to the side of them. He chuckled and whispered "touché" Holding his right side with his left hand noting the couple of broken ribs he continued to hold his blade next to Ragdar's neck.

Smirking, Ragdar turned to Elias. He showed little worry or remorse at the damage he had done to the man. They both knew the risks involved, even with blunted swords. Moving Elias' sword to the side as he closed in, he knelt next to the man preparing to heal him. "There you have it. The perfect offense. Remember what you said about pain. Besides, it's the least you could pay to see that and live through it, if I do say so myself." he told Elias, voice coated with a hint of smugness. He began to heal Elias, using the complicated words in the Ancient Language he had learned from his time with Galbatorix. First he started to mend the broken ribs he felt, one by one.
Grunting, he continued. Healing magic never was his favorite. More rather he was into destructive magic. He began to fix all that had gone wrong in Elias' chest. Smiling at his new ally, he said, "I'd love to say you won after that show of bravery but I'm afraid not quite. If I was using a sword that was not blunted you'd have died before you had the chance to swing at my neck. Hats off to you though, for such a performance. It was quite something I'd have to say." all smugness and arrogance gone, replaced by a fiery respect.
Finishing up his magic, he stood up and dusted off his robe. He offered a hand to Elias. "I'd like to say I was holding back a lot but I barely did. I only held back a little due to fear that if I did hit your chest as I planned I'd cause too much damage. Especially considering I'm not the best with healing magic." he told the man, continuing, "But it seems you are quite something. As I said, hats off to you lad." he finished, giving a slight bow with a bow of the head, imitating taking off an invisible hat to Elias.

Elias coughed spitting another glob of the thick red spittle he smirked at Ragdar as the man moved towards him the strike had left Elias winded. Gaining control over the sputtering wheezes that he had been doing. He took a few deep breaths and knelled so that Ragdar could better heal the wounds that had been afflicted "Well we do have it then, and I do recall what I said about pain. Well I am no easy foe to beat and your fancy technique left me with a few fractured or broken ribs though it may hurt I'm still here. You didn't mean to get rid of me now did you?" Elias said jokingly. Feeling the magic do it's work Elias felt relief flow into his broken ribs. The words that Ragdar used He had never heard before perhaps some kind of complicated spell perhaps never the less it was working so who cared what it was.
Sighing as the magic healed his chest he relaxed a bit taking smaller breaths so as not to hinder Ragdar's spell. Elias looked over the land not paying attention to the magic that was flowing through his chest. " You can say whatever you'd like to my friend but the duel was a good one at that. And who is to say that I didn't use the blunted blade to my advantage I know that a blow like that with a normal sword could have killed me no doubt but as you see I'm still here broken bones and all. Also I have found a new respect for you Ragdar I am glad to count you amungst my friend which are hard to find now a days and your performance was none the lesser if I do say so." He said looking Ragdar square in his face while saying it.
Feeling the flow of magic stop and feeling his ribs intact. Elias grabbed his sword and sheathed it grabbing Ragdar's hand. " That is good to know that you didn't hold back entirely. Maybe the next time we duel we go full force at each other as for if you where to hit me a chest can heal although it would take a while it would heal. Well you did a good job fixing my ribs. Trust me I am only as good as my pride will allow me but you seem to have a natural gift there my friend" Elias said with a bow.

((I feel like this is getting drawn out, so shall we end this on a happy note?))
Ragdar gave out a snort of laughter. "If I wanted to get rid of you all I needed was to put every ounce of force I can into that last swing. Or just removed the dull spell from my sword. Don't worry - I won't stab you in the back. I'm a bit more direct with my fights if you've noticed." he told Elias, amused by the other Lord's sense of humor, noting with satisfaction that Elias was enjoying his magic being worked.
Ragdar looked out over the horizon with Elias. He agreed; no matter the outcome it was a duel for the time. Plus Elias was a man he had new found respect for. He hadn't expected the man to willingly take such a blow. He waved it off and said, "Bah, who cares what happened? All I care about was that was a duel I won't ever forget. It's not often I say this but you've my respect, Lord Elias." again imitating taking off a hat to Elias, a slight smirk on his face.
Slapping Elias on the shoulder he said, "I have a natural gift? Maybe, but I've been at the worst of training for 20 years now. You're the natural, if anything. But I don't think we should go all out. Last time I dueled all out.. didn't end well for either of the combatants and the land around us certainly didn't approve." remembering his last duel. Laetri had sent a Rider from the Water Branch to check up on the Fire Branch and try to learn some new tricks from them. He had attempted to train the impatient Rider who then had him forced into a duel.
As the sun set, he turned to Elias, sticking his hand out for a handshake and said, "It was fun while it lasted, my friend. I'll be sure to keep in touch. For now, though, I better get back to Dras-Leona. You know, official business and all." keeping his grip firm and tight. Snapping his fingers, he cast a spell to sober up Lenora who jolted up.
"Aw, but the party was just starting.." she complained, her voice mocking Ragdar who grinned like a crazy mad man. She turned to Elias and with her nose, gently brushed onto Elias' brow. "It was nice meeting you Elias. Plus it seems you've put Ragdar in a good mood. Also, the food and wine was top notch. It seems I have much to thank you for. Be safe on your journeys." she told him.
