So Elske was pregnant when she was taken to Galbatorix's castle, and she gave birth there. They told her she'd had a son, and he was stillborn. She believed that most of her life, but has lately wondered why they would even bother to tell the truth, or if it would have served them a better purpose to lie to her. Elske is nearly eighty now, her life having been extended against her will--she no longer knows how long she'll live, but she looks like she's between 25 and 35. She's also living in the castle again, this time basically of her own free will, though she hates it, and it might throw a fun wrench into things if she discovered somehow that her child had lived. This can also be a pre-existing character. They just need to be about in their forties, to make it fit with her timeline.

If all is right I may be able to help with this if that is okay with you I have a pretty good idea of a back story but only if it is okay with you.

You'd have to give me more to go on than that sentence alone but I'd love to hear your ideas!

Not sure how this fits in here but I've been hoping for sometime to get a character out there who would be a relative ( brother, son, uncle, father, anything ) to someone. Got anything in mind?

Elske's immediate family were supposedly all killed when she was a teenager. However one of her brothers or a parent could have survived. Her father and his family are mostly a mystery. I'm toying with the idea that her father was once part of the nobility. I'd be open to ideas!

Basically I'm making it so that he has no idea who his parents are and he was brought up by bears who he was left with after being born.

Good heavens. Well, I'd like to wait to hear Joker's idea before deciding. Possibly, Aelodil, your character could be a younger sibling of Elske's, who was an infant at the time of her family's deaths. I don't see why I'd not be allowed to edit her history in such a minor way. I've done worse. However Elske's going on eighty, and she was between fifteen and nineteen when her family died, so the baby brother would be sixty to sixty-four now. Hmmm. A cousin could also work.

I mean, Urs is 39 so tht won't work unless maybe cousin? When you die, your world ends. The world may go on, but in your eyes, the world ends with you. -Carpe Diem

Could be! Still gonna wait for Joker's plans, because so far I also really like the possibilities of your character.
I HAVE JUST REALIZED that if y'all both come up with smash-bang ideas there's no reason Elske couldn't have had twins and no one told her. We'd just have to figure out why/how they were separated. They don't even have to look alike.

Sorry about the wait just got back from some family matters Harbor the twin idea sounds like a cool idea maybe they could be polar opposites from each other maybe Galby sent one to some nobles and Urs wherever Vlaer was going to put him

Having her brother being given to a pro galbatorix household and try to build up on that and try to have Elske try to get him into close to the leaders of the varden and then perhaps Elske can be all big sisterly to him that is all I really got at this moment

That post needs some more punctuation before I'll fully understand it, but thus far I like it. It would take a lot of internal effort for Elske to be sisterly/motherly, but once she realizes he's family she'd definitely be more likely to be protective. What do you mean by 'get him into close to the Varden'?

Sorry for the punctuation mistakes. Forgot about that, that was my bad for that. By getting him closer to the Varden I mean as he could try to find some breaks in their government and see what he could do to make them weaker as a whole. Try to make the lords of the land feel uneasy with the Varden in charge basically if all goes well he would want another rebellion.

Oh dear. Such trauma and family strife, since Elske fought FOR the Varden.

You demon. So the only thing the three of us need to agree on here is how they were separated. Perhaps Galby decided to send them in two different directions (for reasons I can't think of--ideas, y'all?) and Ullor's foster-family was ambushed somewhere near Du Weldenvarden, leading to his atypical upbringing. Joker's fellow was raised the way he was meant, by Galby, to be raised. Thoughts?

Sounds like a good idea perhaps Galby wanted them nowhere near each other.

For whatever reason or for experimentation purposes. He seems like the experimenting sort. Aelodil, I now require you to immediately return and chip in.

I have arrived, darling. Maybe 3 day late but don't worry about it. I agree completely. Urs could've been shipped off into the forest by Galbatorix, who hoped he'd die there, and Joker's twin would've been the one Galbatorix felt with ( how someone like that feels anything is beyond me ) and kept to be raised as a noble.
