Full Name: Arathorn Elendil
Other name: Argeti (To his admierers), Graceful Urgal (To his detesters)
Race: Elf Magician
Side: Varden
Birthplace: Ellesmera
Age: 141
Gender: Male
Birthday: The Beginning of the Argeti Blodhren
Eyes: As green as the leaves of the trees in Du Weldenvarden
Hair: Straight and shoulder length, silvery-blonde hair.
Weight: 121 lbs
Height: 6' 1"
Magic User: Yes
Clothing: In times of peace, he wears a crimson tunic stitched with gold thread; a belt studded with white jade; warm, felt leggings, and a pair of cloth boots favored by the elves. In times of war, he wears Dwarven made armor with a grey trim, it has a dragon in the center with a rare black diamond that is transparent giving it a grey twinkle. A gift from King Hrothgar to his father, Mithrandir, an Ellesmera noble who worked directly with King Evandar. A black Snakeskin cloak, which is made from scales harvested from a shedded snake skin. Black Leather boots, and a golden helm richly decorated like a General's.
Preferred Weapon(s): A pale longsword, which he wears around his waist with a long black-and-blue belt. The belt is made of cloth threads woven together in an interlocking pattern that depicted a coiling Liani Vine. The belt was the last gift Mithrandir gave him. He prefers to use a long, dark bow with reflected limbs and curled tips. Silver fittings chased with dogwood leaves decorate the ears and grip of the bow. The bow was sung from a yew tree by Queen Islanzadi herself, as a gift to him for his services to her. He has a quiver filled with fine swan feathered arrows. For those sticky situations, he has a dagger in his boot.
Personality: Arathorn is fierce in combat, but has a soft side for nature and animals.
Arathorn is unlike many elves, for he craves battle, and many refer to him as "A Graceful Urgal". When battle calls, Arathorn is always first to lead war parties, and always the first to kill a foe. When he is outnumbered, Arathorn will refer to the only other method he knows, Magic, and will use the twelve death words to kill his foes; even if it greatly fatigues him. Arathorn refuses to retreat from a battlefield, even if it looks hopeless; only when he is staring eye to eye with a greater force will he admit defeat. These actions have almost caused him to die a great many times.
Despite his lust for battle, you get to see what Arathorn is really about, nature. He would dissapear for days at a time into Du Weldenvarden to sing to a plant or talk to the animals. Arathorn loves the trees that grow in Du Weldenvarden, and he strives to keep them thriving in the forest . Arathorn once did magic that almost killed him just to heal a family of elven horses. Arathorn will protect nature, even if it takes him to his grave.
Strengths: Courage, Wisdom, Strength, and Skills with weapons
Weaknesses: Arrogance, His lust for battle, and his weakness for nature, which could be used against him.
Likes: Battle, Victory, Nature, The Ancient Language, Swordcraft, and Archery
Dislikes: The Empire, People who try to harm any part of nature, Cowards, and those who show weakness
Family:
Mother (Idrial; Deceased, Battle of Ilirea)
Father (Mithrandir; Went missing during the Battle Of Ilirea)
Brief History: Arathorn was born to a family of Ellesmera Nobles in the Elven capital of Ellesmera located in Du Weldenvarden. His father, Mithrandir, was a noble and worked directly with Queen Islanzadi. His father, was a courier for Queen Islanzadi, and sent messages between Vrael and King Evandar, until the fall of the Riders. His mother, Idrial, was another Ellesmera Noble, but wasn't as highly known or respected as Mithrandir.
When Arathorn was born, about 41 years before the fall of the Riders, Idrial, devoted her time and energy raising Arathorn, and teaching him The Ancient Language. Arathorn first met Queen Islanzadi and King Evandar (Even though Islanzadi wasn't Officially Queen yet), when he was eight and amazed them by his command and knowledge of the Ancient Language. King Evandar personally further tutored Arathorn's knowledge of the Ancient Language.
While Evendar further taught Arathorn in the Ancient Language, Mithrandir taught Arathorn in the art of war. Arathorn continued his tutoring under Evandar until he was 28, and then he became part of Evandar's court. Arathorn did Evandar's bidding until he was 41, when the fall of the Riders began.
Then, Arathorn and his parents along with the Elves and King Evandar met the forces of Galbatorix and the Wyrdfell at Ilirea. Arathorn and Mithrandir battled alongside Evandar, and just when victory was almost assured, the Forsworn swooped down upon them, and Arathorn was seperated from his father. Even though Arathorn was seperated from his father and King Evandar, he met up with his mother and fought with her, until Galbatorix and his twisted dragon Shruikan swooped down upon them. Arathorn fought bravely, but Shruikan, under Galbatorix's orders; captured Arathorn under his claw, while he killed Idrial.
Shruikan tried to hold Arathorn down, but with a combination of the Ancient Language and his own prowess with a weapon, he slashed Shruikan's leg, and Shruikan slackened his grip enough for Arathorn to slip out and use the Ancient Language to avoid Galbatorix. He hid on the banks of the Ramr River, for what seemed like months, but was really a week, before he gained enough courage to return to the battlefield in the dead of night.
When he returned, he found only one elf remaining amongst the carnage, Vanilor. Vanilor, though gravely wounded, had used the Ancient Language to both sustain himself and to avoid detection by Galbatorix, Morzan, or the rest of the Forsworn. What Vanilor told him, was that Mithrandir had gone missing during his fight with the Forsworn, and King Evandar was dead. Vanilor then died, his last mission complete, he gave Arathorn the message. Arathorn saw no reason to stay in Uru'Baen (Ilirea) anymore and he fled back to Du Weldenvarden, where he stayed ever since working for Queen Islanzadi. Arathorn has now emerged upon the word a new rider has returned to Alagaesia, one who will challenge Galbatorix, Arathorn is ready to serve this new Dragon Rider.
Anything extra: He always wears a golden necklace, with a piece of the most ancient tree in Du Weldenvarden attatched to it, in a glass vial protected by his wards. He spent three months, and alot of magic to get it. He sat down beside that tree for a week straight, and constantly sang to it, until he got what he required. When he recieved the piece, he used magic to repair the tree.
