Family:
Mother- Marina (Alive)
Oldest Brother- Silas (Alive age 40)
Brother- Lance (Alive 32)
Brother- Adam (Alive 31)
Brother- Carran (Alive 30)
Brother- Keane (Alive 30)
Youngest Brother- Norwood (Dead at 18)
Not-So-Brief History: Arwen was born with a full head of red hair. She was born to Marina, a lady of the night. She had never known her father but neither had any of her 6 older brothers known theirs. Though Marina was a mistress and often had men in and out of the house daily, she loved all her children. And her favorite was her little girl which she named Arwen. She even quit her job as a prostitute for her newest daughter.
But Arwen was no easy child to raise, she was stubborn and tricky, and would often get into massive amounts of trouble. She would raise hell in the slums where they lived. Not only that but all her older brothers would pick on her constantly for being so short. But Arwen would not let her brothers use their bigger size against her, she should often play pranks on them. And from an early age in order for her poverty stricken family, she and her brothers learned to lie, cheat, and steal for survival. Her eldest brother Silas went of and joined the army and started paying for the large family, though it was never enough. The young red head had grew up with the stories of dragons and magic and strange pointy eared people that lived in the huge forest that rested only a few leagues away. But she was always interested in the magic part. And when her mother would tell these stories she would listen so closely that no matter what was going on she was glued to her mother’s stories. Her mother knew a lot of things, she was brilliant and very well read. “It’s one of the perks of being an unmarried woman of ill repute,” her mother would always say, “I can do and say whatever I want. I can read, write, and learn and no man can stop me.”
One day after Carran had left for the army, when Arwen was 10, she and her Norwood, her 11 year old brother who was closest to her age, were playing out in the streets. They were tossing around a ball made out of leather, kicking it and throwing it around. She and Norwood, were very close, and both were quite short in stature. While they were playing, the ball bounced into the path of an oncoming group of fast moving group of mounted soldiers. Norwood ran after the ball, not seeing the soldiers, and the soldiers not seeing him. Fearing for her brother’s life, Arwen ran out in front of him. Without really thinking, a word she had read in a book, popped into her head. “Letta!” she shouted at the soldiers. And by some invisible force, the men stopped on a dime. In the group of soldiers was a magician named Gorlon who was a master of the dark arts. He was a cruel man but he was the strongest and best of the Empire’s magicians. He was surprised by the power of the now unconscious girl, and whisked her away to train under him.
Arwen trained really hard under Gorlon, despite his harsh way of teaching. If she did something wrong he would hit her and make her do the exercise over and over again until she did it right or passed out from lack of energy. But, she was even surprised by her own power. She absorbed the things she was taught greedily, and always wanted to learn more. She trained for 5 years with Gorlon, before he started to divulge secrets of the dark arts. With the completion of the first part of her training she was given her staff by her master before he continued to teach her the dark arts.Arwen still learned them by force but secretly vowed to never use those secrets. When she was 17 she heard of the death of her brother Norwood. He had been caught for stealing and had been put to death by her own master. Arwen was heart broken and angry, and immediately left her training and ran away into the Empire.
Anything extra: Arwen's magic is mysteriously blue, and is quite powerful. She wishes to one day travel to Ellesmera and train with the elves.
