Full Name: Zadok Ariathor, Son of Malor.
Other name: Stone Hand, Quick-Draw
Race:: Human
Side: Neutral
Birthplace: Carvahall
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Birthday: The 24th of May.
Eyes: Zadok bears a set of large, luminescent, and otherwise unnatural set of bright brown eyes. They appeared, in nature, to be almost yellow, as of that of an eagle.
Hair: Zadok has medium length, crimson-red hair, swept to the right side of his face. In the back of his head, it curls a little bit, but still hangs off the nape of his neck.
Weight: Zadok weighs about 15 stone, above average at best, but hard work has toughened his muscles for strength and endurance.
Height: Zadok's paternal family were rather large people. He blames his mother, Alma, who's short stature, in his mind, prevents him from becoming the tall man he believed he wanted to be. He stands a few inches short of 6 feet tall. However, his short standing makes it easier for Zadok to maneuver in to small nooks and crannies, something that has become invaluable to him, his family, and friends.
Magic User: No (Not unless the Admin's permit him to become a Rider.)
Preferred Weapon(s): A collapsable wood-cutting axe, and a shortbow he crafted out of a branch from a maple tree.
Personality: Zadok is a tough-minded individual. Growing up in a rather stale and mundane area, Zadok learned the necessary skills of survival not through option, but through necessity. He is quick on the draw to joke, be a central cause of chaos, and is quick to defend those he cares for. Zadok is uncommonly serious, but will be in times of need, or when he deems his seeming carelessness unnecessary.
Appearance: Zadok is fond of the color green, as evidenced by his dress attire. He commonly clothes himself in green whenever possible, wearing a green tunic, slacks at times, and grass tainted leather boots that turned green through usage. His pale white skin often contrasts with his hair, making it very easy for him to turn a bright shade of pink whenever the summer sun is at it's highest. Through common and frequent activity, Zadok's body is seemingly athletic. His short legs permit him to travel like a gazelle among larger people, and his stocky body and large shoulders allow him to compete among the other men in the village in terms of strength, whenever he has to tussle, wrestle, or at times, fight. Zadok's appearance is very deceiving. What appears to be a pushover of a shorter man amongst his people has a very tough core.
Likes/Dislikes: Zadok likes the wilderness as much as any other human being. He is especially fond of wildlife, plants, and stones as well. He enjoys conversation. He loves a cool, hearty drink after a long day. He dislikes violence, being manipulated, and darkness. He is extremely distasteful to the arrogant type; those so full of themselves, it seems, that their body frame is seemingly lacking the support for their head.
Strengths: Great will power brings Zadok the strength Zadok needs when physical strength seems to fail him. Zadok is an excellent fighter when the need arises, and above average when it comes to the use of archery.
Weakness: Zadok is quick on the draw to assume things, and while he is seemingly easy going with people, he is quick to decide whether someone is with him... Or against him.
Family: Zadok is the son to a father who's parents died before Zadok was born. He knows not of his mother, for she left him for the Varden several years prior. Accompanying Zadok and his father Malor are his two brothers, Quell and Astro.
Not-So-Brief History: Zadok is, was, and for the most part, always will be opposed to violence. Living so very close to the Spine, he is certainly no stranger to violence. The Empire visit the village so frequently that it's become as much of a daily activity as the brushing of his teeth. However, living so far off from the town itself, the most Zadok ever sees of them is when they march on the trail leading to Carvahall. He knows that the Empire conscripts young men in to their army, but apparently Zadok, Quell and Astro have not been mentioned from the mouths of the townspeople, which works much to liking of Zadok. Zadok would not want to form a pact with the ancient language forcing him to raise a sword against anybody.
Since Zadok was old enough to think for himself, he's always bared that thought. The world could do without violence, but chooses not to. The minority control the majority, and send them to their doom against other men that are equally in the same circumstance. Zadok has always contemplated leaving the small town of Carvahall for a more adventurous life. Granted, he will not be seeking trouble, but he will be seeking a life more interesting than the one he's living in. Until that day comes when Zadok earns enough money to travel on his own against the elements, he's content to stay with his father and two siblings.
He has contemplated where of all places he should go, and he thinks of some of the things he likes and detests. First, he knows he loves plants, whether vegetable, fruit, flower, shrubbery, trees, or even grass. He knows he hates violence forced by those who are too afraid to dismount their thrown, throw down their scepter, and release their clothing of fine linen for a steed, sword of fine steel, and a hand crafted suit of armor. Cowardice, more or less, is what Zadok hates the most. He has an extreme distaste for politics in this regard.
Each time he considers the whereabouts of where he wants to travel, he comes to the same result each time:
Du Weldervarden. Each time he thinks about it, the Forest of the Elves, it seems like more and more of a possibility each time. However, the sheer culture change would perhaps frighten him a bit more than what one would expect. Zadok has never seen, talked to, or even came close to being in the presence of the Fair Folk. The closest he's ever come to talking to an elf were from the bards that travel in to Carvahall during the spring and fall, eager to sing and tell their stories within the taverns and pubs within the town. Zadok is aware that the last time Carvahall has likely ever seen an elf were during the times of old, which to him made seeing an elf or even coming in to contact with one would be a blessing among blessings to say the least.
Zadok blames these bards and storytellers for his longing of adventure. Ever since he was old enough to remember, he remembers being with his Father to hear these stories. His eyes would light up, prickles would appear on his nape, and he found it difficult to sit still each time he would hear these stories. Each time he would hear these stories, he would picture himself as the Hero or Champion being told of, and how he would act in certain times of adversity.
Quite contrary to his thinking, Zadok is as his family has been for years: A farmer. He tills the land with his father and brothers, tending to livestock and the colts his father bought years ago. It's not a glamorous life, but it keeps him out of trouble. Trouble that Zadok will often find if he feels his hands are not kept busy.
Zadok knows little of his mother. He knows what he's been told by various people. His father tells him that she left because she could not bare her own life anymore. Others tell him that she left to join the Varden two weeks after Astro was born. Putting these two pieces of information together, Zadok feels like these two are both valid and come to one greater truth: She grew tired of living within the walls of the Empire, and left to find a greater, freer life. Of this, Zadok has no doubt that this was her reasoning for leaving him and his family. Zadok does not feel any form of detest toward his mother for leaving.
Zadok's growing up was full of understanding by his father. Zadok grew up in a world of men, and became one, in his mind, before children and young adults before him. However, his witty mind and ease of joking make people believe that he's still a juvenile, but once they travel in to more serious matter, they understand that perhaps Zadok is wiser than what they had thought.
Zadok has two nick-names, Stone Hand and Quick-Draw. The nick-name Stone Hand was one he had earned within taverns. One evening, some passerby had entered the tavern that Zadok was in, and began insulting his mother from his first pint until the time that Zadok had decided he had had enough. Zadok stood up, calmly as ever, in unison with the man with an endless well of insults, and punched him square in the jaw, sending him toppling over the counter of the bar, landing on his back on top of a plethora of glass mugs. The man had a bit much to drink, as was obvious, but people had a difficult time telling if he was more punch drunk than anything else.
The nick-name Quick Draw is one that Zadok had no intention upon setting out and earning. Rather, the name suited him. Zadok is usually the first one to get a joke off in a rather morbid or seemingly inappropriate situation. This nick-name seems to have found him, for better or worse, depending on the situation.
Zadok does not plan on remaining in Carvahall for much longer. While he has not officially announced his plans to his father, he has been hinting on to the fact that he has been saving money for quite a while now so that he can make a name for himself. Zadok's adventure is about as crystal clear and viscous as mud, and it begins... Now.
Anything extra: Zadok has a fond mind when it comes to adventure, and thus wishes to become a Dragon Rider. While he has not decided who he wants to assist in the matter, Zadok feels confident that one day the answer will present itself to him.
