Full Name: Kane Shimizu
Other name: "Kane the Wanderer"
Race:: Elven Rider
Side: Varden
Birthplace: Ellesmera
Age: 550, by his claims. Perhaps older.
Gender: Male
Birthday: October 31st
Eyes: Silvery blue
Hair: His hair is golden brown with strands of red along the top, giving a fiery glow when the sun hits him from above. It resembles a mane, crawling down a quarter of his back.
Weight: 150 ibs.
Height: 5'8
Magic User: Yes.
Preferred Weapon(s): Vakna Brisingr/Awaken Fire/Merna Bane- An elfish blade, crafted partly by a Dwarf blacksmith, a Human blacksmith, and blessed by his own magic. Through the work of the three, Vakna Brisingr was born. It received multiple names, corresponding from each of its creators; By Kane's standards, it was dubbed Vakna Brisingr--- Awaken Fire. The Human smith simply used the translated native, while the Dwarf dubbed it "Merna Bane." Partly native, his name was translated to Water's Bane.
Vakna Brisingr is a black blade, with burning white tendrils twisting around. The hilt itself was crafted by steel, wrapped in a soft bandaging as not to damage its holder. It is rumored the white tendrils will glow like flames in the heat of battle.
Personality: Kane can be cold at times, but is easily broken down into a warm being if caught in good company. At war he has been called ruthless, and even in a spar has a tenancy to dish serious damage.
Appearance: (Clothes, Physical Attributes, Body Type, etc.)
Likes/Dislikes: He despises the empire, if nothing else, for the fact it kills living creatures for no reason--- not even sport. One of few things he finds worth liking, however, is the fact that he has all the more opportunity to take revenge.((I'll emphasize more on what I mean in character.))
Strengths: Close combat, basic magics, and mind probing.
Weakness: Overly advanced magics, long distance battling, and romance.
Family: He knows not whether his family is still alive--- or whether he still counts as a member. The elf left home nearly two hundred years prior, becoming known as "Kane the Wanderer," and becoming a myth to many, legend to few.
His only true family, currently, is a two month old, horse-sized male Dragon, Gem "Sterna" Shimizu.
Not-So-Brief History: Kane's history resembled that of most elves--- he was raised, then trained, then spent much of his life working towards a single goal and knowledge. His first goal, surprising to his master, was crafting weaponry. Rhunon, being one of few available smiths, took him up as an apprentice.
He worked under Rhunon for twenty five years before he crafted his first dagger, and afterwards, sold it for the money to invest in his next hobby. From Rhunon he trained himself in his native language, learning the words he could find before asking an elder to teach him to harness their power.
After this, he found himself to be 175, fifty years spent on the art of magic. Knowing he had an eternity to return to it, he moved on to yet another art; swordsmanship. This was easy, as he simply spent his spare silver and crafted a rudimentary blade. He trained with the other elves, this time for over a century.
At age 275, the soon-to-be myth moved back into magic, trying to perfect the art of mixing the basics in to his combat. This lasted him fifteen years, and at 285, he finally dropped back to crafting. Rhunon, by then, had dropped the art, and thus he simply read books and scrolls, sketched other armors. Eventually he'd crafted his own out of the scraps of other armors. Granted, it took another fifteen years, and it wasn't even as impressive as a human's armor.
Finally, his last fifty years were spent practicing the three arts he'd known, crafting silverware and bowls and the like, beheading dummies and lighting and extinguishing candles with magic. At age 350, he finally left Ellesmera to travel the world, find new arts to practice.
Throughout the next two hundred years, Kane traveled, occasionally saving a life or the purse of an old woman. He hunted, but only until he subdued his prey, then healed and released the creature. He fought wandering foes, healing the ones who met no true harm, ridding the world of the others.
It wasn't until his 549th year that he joined the Varden, drawn by the arrival of a new Dragon Rider. He fought in the battles, but stayed in hiding, blocking himself from the public. Nasuada, Orrin, and perhaps a few other leaders knew of his presence. Others, such as Eragon, were never told...
Recently, Kane stumbled upon a strange stone, supposedly dropped from the sky. When searching its history through magic, he found it had made its way through a thief who had boarded the ships alongside the Empire, who apparently died when intruding. Somehow, the brown and white object had gone unnoticed.
Weeks later, the stone. hatched, revealing a lizard-like creature the was covered in dirty blond scales, with black spikes poking up from its back and neck. Its eyes were emerald, drowned in knowledge yet untapped. As a scar made its way unto the Elf's hand, Kane realized he would need to hide this as well....This beast...This dragon...This family...This...stone...Neigh, Gem. And the Dragon was thus named; Gem "Sterna" Shimizu.
Anything extra: I would like him to be a rider. Whether my idea is accepted or not is up to you, but...
