Trelik couldn't help, but hear how the coins jingle inside the man's coin purse as he walked. As Trelik saw it, his family needed money, and this man had alot money. So it couldn't be so wrong if Trelik relieved the man of his coin purse. The man must have more money then what he has on him. After deciding this, Trelik snuck up to the man, and as quickly relieved the man of his money without the man noticing.
After he did this, on his way back he thought about what he did and the rush he got from it. Yet, he knew his father wouldn't approve of it, so he needed to figure out how he was going to give the money to his father without realizing it. That's when he thought of a plan that at the time was genius. Everyday, Trelik would sneak in a few coins to the Blacksmith's earnings. He knew his dad didn't keep an accurate enough count of the earnings to notice the extra coins that came in. The plan seemed perfect, and it was til the coin purse Trelik stole ran dry.
Around that time, business began picking up again for the blacksmith and the family was soon swimming in wealth. But Trelik didn't trust that times were going to stay this way. He believed that he needed to keep stealing from wealthy people in order for his family to live. Thus began a long ten year cycle of thievery and deceit.
During the next ten years, Trelik began to become more bold in his thievery. He soon began to target not only people with loose coin purses, but homes of people as well. During this time he found himself becoming more agile and able. He even found himself a fense to sell things to so he didn't just have to steal coin, but could steal items of worth. Sure, there were a couple of close calls, but somehow he still managed to get away scot-free. He got so thingyy that he didn't think anyone could catch him. Then, during that last year, his luck caught up on him.
When he was sixteen, his brother was drafted into the military, leaving Trelik to help his father in the blacksmith. During this time, Uthar taught his son how to swordfight whenever they had free time and this was the first time he felt him and his father actually getting close to each other. This had caused Trelik pain to keep his many number of heist a secret from his father. Then the day came when he had came to the decision to tell his father the truth, to only find that he was too late.
