So, this new land with the VIkings, Grey-folk descendants and dragons. What else shall there be? I was thinking of there being a cluster of fairly-close-together islands so we can have multiple climates and such without squishing them into one area. So- any beasties in particular you guys would like to see? What shall the other islands be like? The one with the Grey-folk descendants would be your general forested-hilly-mountain-'scape, coldish snowy climate. The Vikings would be from one of the nearby-ish (as a dragon flies, anyway/) Anything else anyone would really like to see? OH VOLCANO ISLAND. *wants*

It would be cool if the lost city of Atlantis was one of those islands! And also I think it would be cool if werewolves were on one of the islands... The werecats wouldn't like that.

I'd like to see some Griffins or Hippogriffs - it would give the dragons some competition

They'd needa be big griffins, hippogriffs O.o Lovin the werewolf idea.... But I've always been a fan of werewolves lol
As for the islands a chain with various climates should be pretty big, and ruins within certain parts would be awesome just things to explore with various creatures.

*twitch* No Rhax! You can't do a sketchpad with all the info, details and traits of everything in it (ALONG WITH LITTLE SKETCHES). It is called obsessive and it is unhealthy....You can't do that to yourself again! Think of your family..
..
Would be pretty useful, though...
That's it, I am picking up a sketchpad tomorrow. I will also knock out a few sketches showing basic ideas for where things are and the landscape and inhabitants of each area.
Loving the idea of griffons (more than hippogriffs). Also going to throw in a few more spectral/arcane creatures from Norse/Celtic myth to give shades are hard time.
I am thinking a central island (where thar be dragons!) that is permanently covered in a vail of protective mist (created by the dragons and sustained by the eldunari through their fear of being found by Galbatorix)/ How does it sound that we have the dragons manipulating those on the other islands?
As we have previously discussed the majority will be VERY AGAINST magical users - I guess their tradition could be to send any budding magic users they spot to this island- they do not know what happens. Also, was playing with the idea that magic users with the Vikings would be very, very rare but VERY fricken 'ard? In fantasy viking books I haave read they tend to go for the 'ritualised worship' for the majority of their 'magical' acts. So, spirits but because of their 'offerings' they tend to be able to summon more powerful ones whilst remaining mostly in control. It will certainly throw any ancient language based magic users off.

Vikings could have Druids in the traditional sense, curses, love for nature and the sea etc.
Perhaps these dragons wouldn't be worried about Galbatorix, I mean he has never even bothered to leave Alagaesia and these islands should be pretty far off. Maybe they're just of the old mentality before the dragons of Alagaesia and the elves made the riders?

Ahh - I forgot - these dragons are meant to have left before Galbatorix became an issue Hiding from the elves/humanthings in general then as it was because of that war they left Alagaesia in the first place ^^; Thanks Rocore. Silly Rhaxta. Druids.. I like! :]

Yeah I think the Druids should do rituals in numbers they could cause horrible storms, alone they excel at riling up their own soldiers and cursing the enemy so their swords break, bow strings snap, luck goes out the window lol. The Druid idea needs to be thought out . Thanks for the clarification on the dragons though

One idea thats sort of a spell is...like a energy sword...like you pump energy into a hilt or something like that and whatever color your energy is it makes it like a super sharp ass sword.. Of course it would take a lot of energy so I was thinking grey folk decendants....

How about more of those sea beasts that Eragon and Saphira encounter. They should be most inhabitated in there. Or atleast have native cluster of them there. And how about a couple of Yetis or something close to them.

There should be an island that has Rocs on it. [Rocs are a giant bird-like dragon that live high up in mountains. They are sort of like phoenix's in the aspect that they can grow REALLY old and have long wingspan.] <- Definition gathered from many different books that I have read over time.

We could have an area that has been changed by magic. Like it can appear to be like space in a certain area. But it only appears that way. The climate has been drastically changed and all. Certain creature roam their that can compete with dragons and possibly change them. lol

I like most of the ideas but i think were going a bit crazy with the creatures here lol the wearwolfes I think would be awsome as well as the sea creatures eragon encountered in inheritance. We could have some different creatures cause we could say since the grey folk are here or came from here(or the island they are from) they twisted an bent the land via magic or something..
