Emiryal was wearing a black cloak along with a shirt of chain mail. His twin rider blades were naturally at his sides. He grimly strode through the upper court yard in the Dras Lenona palace. Firern had landed and was watching him closely. Neither dragon nor elf spoke but a look of understanding and pain passed between them.
Emiryal entered the palace and made his way through it to the dungeons. Why had this had to happen? Leliah was locked up in the dungeons of Dras Lenona because of him. If she proved valuable she would be moved to Uru'baen. If not she'd probably be killed.
He had seen to it that her weapons were kept safe. Even now they resided in his own room, under the pretense that he could use them to extract information from her. It had merely been an excuse, mainly to keep her bow away from being damaged or loss. He knew it was a tremendous gift given by Firern and the Eldundari.
He was on his way now to see Leliah for the first time since he had captured her. He didn't know how to get her out of this, but at least he hoped he wouldn't have to harm her. He was sure she had it rough in the dungeons but there wasn't anything he could do about it. He just hoped he wouldn't have to harm her to interrogate her. That was wishful thinking though, it was inevitable that he would have to harm her.
He had now entered the dungeon and paused to wait for the guard to open Leliah's cell. He stepped inside and the guard closed it behind him. He shuttered at the door clanged shut. It reminded him too much of his own imprisonment, before he met Firern. As his eyes adjusted to the dim light he saw Leliah.

Leliah gasped at the sight of Emiryal, her face was covered in dirt and scratches. She now had to wear horrible, rough clothes that scraped against her delicate skin. She was covered in rashes where the clothes had rubbed against her skin. She looked at the floor, her eyes brimming with tears. She looked up at Emiryal, fear in her brown eyes. "What are they going to do to me?" She went rigid, she felt Amee briefly brush her mind. She thought they were playing tricks on her.

Emiryal was heartbroken by the site of Leliah. The dungeons were harsh and the prison keepers even more so. He glanced back at the door and cast a quick spell to prevent eavesdropping. Then he walked over to Leliah and embraced her. "They--we want information," he said. He couldn't bring himself to say the unspoken. If she didn't give the information torture would ensue.
He stepped back from her and folded his arms. He looked so small and helpless the way he was standing in the dim light. "I- made sure I was put in charge of you along with a few of the other prisoners," he added. If she escaped he'd face the direct punishment for it. And he was the one who would interrogate her and....torture her. "At the moment nothing is going to be done to you....aside from the mind inhibiting drugs in your food. But I'll have to come back later and interrogate you....forcefully if need be...."

Leliah nodded, Her hair fell infront of her brown eyes. Hiding the fear they contained. She returned Emiryal's embrace. Smiling for the first time since she was thrown in the cell. Her voice was croaky and hoarse; she wasn't going to speak. Could I please have some water? Leliah heard what Emiryal said about them interragating her. A shudder ran through her body. If she had to be tortured; Emiryal had to torture her. She stood up straight, straining her legs.

[ No problem. ]
Emiryal nodded. "Of course," he said. He glanced at the door then closed his eyes to concentrate. If he asked for water he might draw suspicion on himself and if he did that he might endanger her more. "Adurna, rïsa lam iet un malthinae unin böllr," he muttered. For a while nothing happened except for the drain of energy Emiryal felt. Then water droplets started to form above Emiryals outstretched hand. Gradually the water formed into a sphere. He opened his eyes.
The sphere would stay floating above his palm as long as he could hold it there. So he extended his hand to Leliah for her to drink straight from the floating sphere of water. He didn't question her not responding to his mention of torture, who would? He didn't want to think about it any more than she did. "This is the best I can do under the circumstances," he said meaning getting her a drink.

Leliah sucked in sharply, Smiling as the hydration hit her tongue. She nodded her head. ”I really needed that.” She said, Her shrill voice almost laughing. Her eyes twinkling with brilliance. She stood up. Her face grew grey to hear about how they tortured the others. She reached up and wrapped her arms around him. ”Emiryal,” She started. ”I… Love you.” She whispered. Looking around to make sure they had not been heard. She rested her head on his chest, Her arms wrapped around his neck. ”It’s horrible down here.” She murmured. Her eyes showing the dis-comfort. She looked into his eyes.

When Leliah had finished drinking, he tossed the remains of the orb of water off to the side. It hit the floor with a splash and darkened the stone floor from the moisture. He had smiled at her thanks but he didn't say anything more. His heart was heavy.
He embraced her as she wrapped her arms around him. He felt guilty in a way. Her clothing was rough against his hands as he had embraced her, while in comparison his was made from some of the finest material in Alagasia made by the master craftsmen.
Emiryal felt more guilty than ever for having caught her. Why hadn't he just let her go or at least tried to. He had been bound by oath but he had been a coward. Rather than face any retribution he had taken her. However, perhaps this was the worst possible punishment of all to see her locked up here.
He didn't answer her when she said she loved him. The words felt stuck in the throat and he couldn't answer her. He loved her deeply but after what he'd done how could he say so anymore. Her being here was his fault. Tears ran down his face freely, he alone bore the guilt of her being here, when she should've still been free, been with the Varden.
"I know," he simply said when she voiced her dislike for being down in the dungeons. "I was down here for almost a year before the Empire destroyed my will. Those were the worst years of my life. Leliah, I don't know how but I'll get you out of here. I can't let you suffer the same fate....I don't care what happens to me but I don't want you having to go through what I did. I'll do what I can and free you, just hang on and wait for me." He wondered if he could lesson his interrogations a bit or delay them somehow. The last thing he wanted to do was harm her. But it would take some time before he could get her away from the dungeons.
If he let her go and aided her in escaping the punishment would be brutal. He only hoped that his status as a Rider would stay Galbatorix's hand from killing him. He didn't want to die but for Leliah he would.

A sigh escaped Leliah’s lips as she felt the emotions emanating from Emiryal, She sighed. ”I shouldn’t have gone up to the wall, Then we wouldn’t be in this mess. “ She said with a grunt, knowing deep down in her heart that it was her own fault. She held Emiryal close to her, he was the only thing she could cling onto to know that this was all real and not a dream or fantasy. She gulped, looking around the cell; there was a bed of straw then a plate where she was given her dry bread and a metal cup from which she got her drugged water. She kissed Emiryal, her lips pressing against his for a split second, she pulled away quickly with a slight gasp. ”Oh, I’m so sorry.” She said, amazed at her own actions.
{Should we let Rhax with Galbatorix jump into this thread?}

Emiryal shook his head. He would not and could not blame this on Leilah. She had simply been helping defend the Varden. Emiryal had known the risk of fighting the Varden meant possible harm to her. But he had not taken any precautions to prevent this. He could've tried to let her escape before she had come here, but he hadn't.
In his sorrow a kiss was not what he expected but it was not unwelcome. "Don't be," he said. "You have nothing to be sorry for." He just had to get her out of here and the sooner the better.
(yeah we should.)
