Nepherion stood on one of many cliffs surrounding the Beor Moutains. The peaks of which towered high into the heavens, so high in fact that it almost felt overwhelming and unsettling. His white hair blew with the mountain breeze and as cold as they were the currents were welcomed. It was time for them to set off towards the Hadarac Desert and Starlight would need them to get to their destination. Nepherion looked down towards the gray stone underneath, thinking back to the fortune told to him by the lone werecat.
His dark vest laid over his cobalt colored long sleeve shirt. A long white cloak laid over his right shoulder, connect by a emblem. It flowed elegantly behind him, causing him to appear heroic. His black trousers were tucked deep into his darkened boots and on his hip laid yet another spare broadsword. I wonder if Nandon is ready yet ? What is taking him? This riddle isn't going to wait forever.
Starlight stood a little shorter than a single story house and now was more intimidating than ever. His crimson eyes were now the size of Nepherion's fist. He place one on Nepherion as his neck hung over the cliff's edge. I'm also ready to go. Nandon tends to disappear when it's time to depart. Nepherion grabbed the dragon's ivory saddle, that was little duller than the dragon's shimmering scales. Placing it on his back, Nepherion went through the difficult task of hooking it together and making sure it wouldn't go anywhere. His bags were in the back and now all he waited for was Nandon.
Starlight shook a little as he stood to his feet. Impatience was beginning to take over the beast. Nepherion smiled and patted Starlight on the base of his neck. " Woah there. He's on his way. I can feel it. " Starlight kept his eyes on the rising sun overhead. He better hurry. Or else he's going to get left. Nepherion looped his boots into the harness. We will wait regardless. He is our Elda and we will respect him as such.

Nandon sighed shivering at the cold as he walked toward where nepherion the riddle he had been told resonating deep in his mind "When the fates crash around you... and all around is in chaos... the knights of old will rise... whose side you choose is that of your own and that who is most close to you..." he said mumuring it out loud again as he shivered it was a strange twisting riddle which left even a elf confused... he broke into the clearing and tossed nepherion something... a rabbit.... "Thats so we can have some of my famous rabbit stew latter..." He said most of his suplies already packed in starlights saddle then he slowly walked over and climbed onto his back ready to go

Starlight heard the rustling of the leaves before Nepherion had. But reacted slowly to it, knowing that it was Nandon and he held little to no danger to them. He's here. He said. Nepherion looked back towards bush as the elf came out. His hand instinctively gripped the rabbit by the ears, placing it in the dry skin pouch to keep it safe. " Was a rabbit all you caught ?" He asked in a joking tone. As Nandon secured himself, Starlight walked to the edge of the cliff. Hold on guys. He said expanding his mind to Nandon as well. He dove off the cliff, allowing the wind to rip pass him, until finally he opened his wings begin to glide over the small peaks below them. Starlight soared up, climbing on the currents until he found a stable wave. His wing expanded out and locked in place as he begin to soar with ease through the sky. Under them were the blurred imagery of gray peaks, until finally it faded into an abrupt brown. They had finally enter the Hadarac Desert. " Hey, Nandon-elda. I was wondering if you were up for a sparring session like old times ? It would be a nice test of my training with Eragon-elda." Nepherion's back remained towards Nandon as he held on to an ivory spike.

Nepherion looked over his shoulder towards Nandon, his white cloak flowing to the side of the elf's face. " A Fairth. Hmp, that old thing. I could create one easily now. It wouldn't even be a problem. If you wish me to than I will create one. " He said turning back straight. Starlight dipped to the side, he was so far up now that the desert seemed like nothing more than a grainy river, rushing forever forwards. Why change directions for ? Nepherion said speaking to Starlight through their bond. The riddle said that- in so many words the weapon we seek is in the desert. That does include the entirety of the desert. If we keep straight and don't find it than what ? Nepherion eye lowered to the white scales between the spikes as he thought. " Hey, Nandon-elda. What was that fortune the werecat said to you again ? " He said, hoping to dive into the reason of their speaking to the pair.

Nepherion stared at the elf for a moment than returned to flying with Starlight. That ride continued on through most of the day. Starligh's weariness was tearing at his wings, flying three days straight the day before had probably still held it's grip on him. The group lowered down in a soft patch of sand. Nepherion unloaded all the bags and took the saddle off of Starlight. Like before the dragon, held a relieved emotion coursing through his mind afterwards. You should go hunting, I think I saw a small cluster of tree to the south of here. Their should be some game out there. Starlight stepped towards the direction of the trees. I always feel a little worried about leaving you alone. But I'm starving, So I'lll be back soon. Do not get into to much trouble will you ? Nepherion brought the rabbit out the pouch and tossed it to Nandon. Of course I won't. Now go. We're in a desert, how can I possibly get in any trouble. Starlight let out a low growl, extending his wings for take off. You always seem to get in trouble. So how. With that said the dragon took off towards the south, he could feel the connection between them beginning to weaken. But it still held in tact.
The sun had lowered and now the chilling wind had begun to take root in the desert. Nepherion touched the ground feeling the grainy dirt on the surface. " There has to be alot of water in the soil underneath. " Whispering words in the ancient language, A sphere of filtered liquid rose into his palm. He brought his water pouch from his side and took just enough to fill it up. " Hey ! Nandon-elda. When shall we spar ? I'm starting to itch just thinking about it. " He said touching the hilt of his blade. With Eragon-elda it seemed every session held a bout of swordsmanship. He sorta of craved it now.

Nandon cats the same spell and fills up a medium sized pot of water and sets it over the fire before he cats his mind out bringing several rabbits straight to him as he controls there movements then he mutters a single word and they all fall over dead... Nandon then goes to skinning them and then he cuts the into small chunks and tosses it into the fire leaving several roasting on a small rock... then he tosses red wine some potatoes carrots and other greens into the stew with more red wine then he lets it cook... pretty soon good smells fill the space and he looks at nepherion he eyebrow raised at the question "Fine... We can spar while the food cooks..." He then places the ward over his weapon to stop it from being deadly sharp then he rushes at nepherion quickly using his elven speed to help him he also surrounds nepherions mind with his making it a almost oppressive presence before he attacks with a stroke aimed towards his neck... his mind surrounding nepherions makes it a all out battle meant to test his mind and his body

Nepherion watched the elf prepare the food, all the while he decided to unpack his cloth for sleeping. It would be needed for tonight, of course Starlight would allow him to lay against him, but in cold like this even the warmth of a dragon won't be enough. Putting his cloth on the ground, Nepherion pull out the dual handed broadsword out of it's sheathe. Placing his hand on the face of blade he begin to place wards over it. To prevent harm from him or Nandon but to still be able to place pain on him. His voice was faint as he whispered the spells required for sparring.
Afterwards he place the blade towards the ground and waited for Nandon to begin. Right off the bat he could feel the elf poking around his head. It was good thing he constantly walked around with barrier up, and with Nandon poking around he would have to place more. When Nandon brought his wooden staff towards Nepherion and with elven speed approached. He stepped back a little and cursed under his breathe. " That speed. Eragon-elda does the same thing. " Bringing the broadsword up Nepherion was barely able to parry the blow. Finding it difficult to combat the elf's strength, he backed out from conflict. Swiping the blade to his side, he than raised his left hand towards Nandon, his silver mark glowing vibrantly. " Adurna ! " He yelled as a splash of water from his pouch raised out and jetted out towards Nandon's face. With quick hands, Nepherion dash forwards and brought his blade towards Nandon's right side.

Nandon smirked and thought with his mind as he cast the spell sending it off to the side and out of the way... then nandon used the other half of his sword staff and blocked the nlow then he muttered "Brisngr!" though he put no magic into it... he merely tried to scare nepherion as his hand was his inches from his face...then nandon closed the fist and would bring it into a punch aiming for nepherions nose

Nepherion's blade clashed through wind and against Nandon's weapon. The sparks and loud sound of the clang made sure of that. As he raised his head up to face Nandon, he notice he palm open towards him than heard him say Brisingr Nepherion's head instinctively swayed to the side bringing the rest of his body along with him. With such force that his body had stumbled to the side and nearly made him trip over his boots. He regained his footing and brought his blade up infront of him. With heavy breathing he realized that nothing came from the elf's palm. " You're a little different from Eragon-elda." That was all he said as a smile curved his lips and held his sword at the hilt. The spell he used earlier had done little to tire him, but had weakened him none the less. As he held the blade still, he dashed forwards again and brought the steel of the blade down towards Nandon. Thinking on his feet, he attempted to atleast try and predict his movements. But elves were so unreadable, he could barely tell what would happen next. After the slam of his blade, Nepherion brought it to right than spun around with another crash to the right.

Nandon smirked his tactic having the desired effect then he flicks his staff sword to the side... sparks flying and he smirked over at nepherion "Never assume your oponent will be better or worse than someone else..." Nandon said before spinning his blade like a windmill nepherions sword in towards the center as he attempted to send the sword flying from his grasp

As Nepherion brought the broadsword against the windmill, he could feel the two forces grinding. Until finally the broadsword twirled from out of his grip and into the air. Nepherion stood there in front of Nandon, his mouth opened in shock. " Ah, Dammit. Is there no way for a human to combat an elf ? I can't seem to get around you or Eragon-elda. " He said, plopping down on the ground. He pulled his white cloak from under his butt and onto the sand. Letting out a sigh he suddenly felt Starlight touch his mind. How was the bout ? He asked. Nepherion turned towards the south, seeing the grains of sand storm underneath the dragon's wing. I lost as usual. I can't seem to defeat Nandon-elda or Eragon-elda or any elf for that matter. The dragon drew closer, until finally he landed in front of the two, causing the earth underneath to rumble. In time you will. Your training is still young in it's years Nephy Nepherion looked up towards the serpent's snout and smiled. Yea. Your right.
Starlight looked towards Nandon as he walked towards Nepherion's particular sleeping area. As he sat down in a spot he found was comfortable, he stretched his mind out towards Nandon. Be careful with him. He is the future of this land. Even you can see that can't you. He said placing his head down on the sand. Nepherion, oblivious to the connection established between the dragon and the elf went outside the range of the firelight for his broadsword. Finding it's blade stuck inside the sand, he grabbed the hilt and brought it back to campsite. " Nandon-elda. One day, I'll beat you and Eragon-elda. " He said with complete confidence.

Nandon walked over to where the broad sword was preferring not to do the typical method of putting his sword to nepherions neck and says "Dead" he picked up the broadsword and handed it to him before walking over to the fire and stirring the stew he continued stirring it before he looked over at nepherions words "You are much better... Do not put yourself down...But all people fight differently.. you cannot compare my fighting style to eragon-elda's nor can you compare his fighting style to any other... every opponent fights differently... they styles my mimic one another but certain things they do within these forms are different.... Like the windmill i did.... have you see anyone else do that?" Nandon said pouring much of the stew onto a small wooden plate and handing it to nepherion... then he he removed the rock with the roasting rabbits from the fire and walked over to starlight and set them down as a offering then he turned back and pulled a slate piece out of his pack and then listened to starlights words before he spoke back "I know this... But that's no reason for me to go easy on him..." he said then .... then he placed his hand on the cool slate and fixed a image in his mind before speaking the words to place the image on the slate. he closed his eyes as the magic worked itself then he studied the result with interest... It was the picture of a elf female she had a pleasant smile on her face which seemed to radiate warmth... she had black hair with blue streaks running through it... her was lightly tanned and her features where pleasant enough... her eye color was a bright saphire blue which seemed like you could dive into and stare at for hours...... her body was clothed in silk or some cloth that flowed down her body... it was White with a dark blue trim.. the top half left a measurable portion of her well muscled stomach revealed... then her pants began and ran down to her feet which where barefoot... Nandon studied it for a moment before passing it over to nepherion

Nepherion gripped the hilt of his blade and thanked Nandon. As Starlight curled his tail around a mound of sand, he gave Nandon a rather radiant glare from his eyes. I never said to go easy on him. He needs a good beating from time to time. Just remember he's made of flesh and bone, he's not an elf you could go all out on. He reminded Nandon. Nepherion clean his blade of the sandy grain with a cloth from his bag, smiling at the words Nandon mentioned. " Thanks for the kind words Nandon-elda. Your windmill technique did catch me off guard. Though I think having a Rider's blade would help with combat tremendously." He said placing his hood over his head to block the cold chill. Starlight shook his head to the rabbits. I have just devoured two long horned-deers. I'am full for now. He said letting out a throaty rumble. Nepherion held the sword up, the steel reflected against the dancing flames. With a satisfied smile, Nepherion placed the blade back in it's sheathe thanon his lap. Gripping the fairth , he eyed the picture with a pleasant smile. " She's beautiful. Who is she ? " Thinking that in order to have such detail, he must have seen her somewhere.

Nandon nodded his head and shrugged at starlight saying "Its there if you want it later..." he then was once again lost deep in thought which was broken by nepherions voice and he nodded is head "That she is..." he said remembering the fairth briefly then he spoke "Thats my full elf sister...." nandon said with a sigh as he said full elf... she had always looked down on Nandon because of who he was despite his mothers best to stop it... she and he friends at always treated nandon like a animal... like he was not even worthy of a elf... that was another reason he had left the leafy pines of du wendelvarden it was to much pain for him...he wondered what she was doing now and if she was ok... if she was still in elsemera or if she was out there somewhere he then replied with his mind to starlight "Nor am i a full elf... and nor am i using my fulls strength..." Nandon said slightly sadly.... then he poured himself some stew and set to eating it

Nepherion studied the Fairth as Nandon explained the origins of the woman. Which in detail gave him a little idea of the elf's background. With a half hearten smile, Nepherion handed the Fairth back to the elf. " Well it's still a beautiful picture. Your sister must have been a kind woman to you. You hold her in such high regard. " He said before picking up his own wooden bowl of stew. As he chowed down the food, Starlight and Nepherion held a pleasant conversation of the day's events. Starlight played back the hunt of the two longhorned deer inside the cluster of trees. Showing how the two had held little caution for anything in the sky, feeling that nothing would hunt them from above. Simple enough it was quick steal for the majestic dragon, the first one he simply trampled with one paw to the spine and other decapitated with snap of his might jaws. Nepherion shook his head at the grotesque imagery being used. After the descriptive memory, Nepherion could barely stomach to finish off the stew, so he pushed it to the side and decided he would ask Nandon a couple of questions before hitting the sac.
Looking pass the cauldron and embers of flames sparking under it. Nepherion lifted his cobalt eyes onto the elf. " So, Nandon-elda. You mentioned in your story that your sister was a full elf. Are not a full elf yourself ? " He asked. He picked at the statement for a minute while eating earlier. Thinking if he was wrong what was worse that could happen, besides being told no. Starlight staid in the mist of the conversation, his alabaster snout gaining a orange glow as he came closer to the two. He isn't a full elf. Starlight said in the confines of their bond. His tail swept the body of the sand behind him, sorta acting a detector for anything crawling around the night. How do you know ? Have you two been talking behind my back ? Nepherion demanded from the dragon. With a snort Starlight tossed some dirt into the air. Only about your sparring. Do not grow jealous. Nepherion turned his eyes back to Nandon, ignoring the dragon's statement.

Nandon sighed as he was handed the fairth back and spoke "Unfortunately so..." he said then began eating... then he heard nepherions question and couldn't blame him then he spoke telling the story of how he had been born "My mother was a full elf ... healing humans near the edge of our mighty forest when the forsaken descended.... She refused to give in and one of them captured her and took her to his own lair... There ....He...Raped.... Her... For several years this continued until she became pregnant and knowing that changed her true name and she escaped and returned to the forest where i was born shortly after....Through the years i grew always a outcats because i was a half elf even if i liked like a full one... And that increased ten fold when i found my sister...I was utterly devoted to her... She resembled through the years i had suffered of teasing... something i never could be... Even though she and her friends constantly teased me as well...Thats one of the reasons i left to join the varden..." He said and grew quiet...

The boy's cobalt eyes widen in shock. As the small silence ensued Nepherion lowered his head and spoke to Starlight. He's lived a hard life. No wonder the man is as strong as he is. Nepherion sensed a bit of confusion in his dragon's mind. Before Starlight could interject, Nepherion continued. Through pain, people strengthen. That's something that full elves could never experience. They're so devoid of emotion they would - The boy sighed from his nose. - They would just never understand. He continued. Starlight understood fully the human emotion flowing out of Nepherion right than, it coursed through his magical veins and in a sense he wish to be a fleshing - for just a second. Well, Say something Nepherion. Don't leave man in silence. Starlight said as gazed up towards the boy. Nepherion nodded his head towards Starlight than looked up at Nandon. Not really sure of what to say he looked up towards the darkened sky instead. " That's one hell of a story Nandon-elda. I could never understand the pain you've been through knowing that...Did you ever exact revenge on the Forsworn who did it ? " He asked, still gazing up towards the sparkling stars overhead.
