Yang glanced quickly at Nihael as he broke their "conversation" with his catch. He watched as Vavri left and then turned his attention to the dead buck, watching as the blood dripped down from the buck into the fire. "So when did you and Yin start following Vavrin around? I don't imagine you have been doing it ever since you started to work for Galbatorix." Nihael asked, snapping him back to reality.
We've been working with Vavrin for not too long now, Yang said, looking at Nihael and then turning his attention back to the fire and the meat. We've known of eachother, but this was our first real mission together, I believe.
-------
Yin watched as Vavrin approached the horses from the large boulder he sat on. Her concentration seemed to have been on Indy and she had not noticed him yet. I hope you do not mind my using your hooks, he said quietly in her mind. He pulled his staff up as he felt a soft tug. A small fish flew into the air and Yin pulled harder, tossing the fish onto the floor next to him. Yin untied to horse hair he used for string and the hook, pocketing the hook as he stood up. I'm glad you've come down here. You can help me set the fish into the packs.

Vavrin was still petting Indy when she heard the familiar voice of Yin speaking to her within her mind. "You are welcome to use the hooks at any time. I do not mind," she said, with her back facing him. Giving Indy's ears a nice scratch, she turned slightly to see Yin tossing a fish onto the ground. "I suppose it will be fish for breakfast, then."
She patted Indy's nose once more then left his side, approaching Yin to assist him with the fish. "The Rider shot a buck in the forest. It was bleeding all over from its neck when be brought it," she said casually. Vavrin stood waiting with her hands on her hips as she glanced at Yin, waiting for instruction.

Lovely... Yin commented, thinking of the buck. He wrapped a few fish in a large cloth and held it out to Vavrin. If you are planning to have your... buck tonight, then we will be eating fish for dinner.
Tying two bundles to both sides of his staff, he hoist them over his shoulder and walked towards Vavrin. He bowed slightly and extended his arm back towards camp. Ladies first? he said, smiling slightly. But as I was saying, Yang and I, we do not eat meat. We're killers, but we do not devour our kill. Fish, however, are as intelligent as plants and we have no trouble with them.

Vavrin nodded as he extended his arm, and began to walk towards the campsite. "I personally have no preference, so it really doesnt matter either way." She kept walking, keeping her eyes averted to the ground that she tread. "Though... save me a fish for breakfast."she added, looking over at Yin quickly and grinning.
As empty as her stomach was, she didnt feel any hunger pains. She figured Nihael was busy preparing the buck, and she didnt much care to see how it was done. Deciding to slow down, she remembered Yang siding by the fireside and wondered if Nihael had decided to start a conversation with him.

Of course, we have plenty, Yin said, motioning towards the two packs of fish on his staff. He stopped suddenly and grumbled to himself. Ahh, I forgot to refill the waterskins. Come on, we can ride the horses back if you want to hurry.
Yin turned around, his packs swinging as he spun, and walked back towards the river quickly. He felt around his belt for the waterskins with one hand, the other keeping the staff balanced on his shoulder. And how was your ride with Nihael? Yang told me you two landed, but I'm assuming he did not ask about the trip. I'm sure the protective Onyxia was pleased at having you on her back with her precious rider, no?

"I am content with walking," she said as she followed. Vavrin felt no particular need to hurry. Boots crunching the same twigs and eyes looked overhead at the same tree cover, she made her way with Yin to the river.
Vavrin sighed as she recollected her ride with Nihael. "No, Yang did not inquire and I did not speak of it. The ride started out nice, the view was spectacular and the air was crisp. I had fun keeping an eye out for you and your brother. However Onyxia decided to pull a stunt and roll over in mid-air. I dont know what she was thinking in that reptilian brain of hers, but she apparently did not appreciate having me ride with Nihael, that much was clear."
Vavrin was glad she decided to close her mind off from Onyxia a long while ago. She kept walking with Yin until they reached the river. "The dragon and I will never get along," she remarked dryly, "but who needs her when I have you?"

Yin laughed as Vavrin described her slight adventure. He took dropped his staff and the fish on the floor gently as he approached the pile of saddles near the horses. He grabbed the water skin as he bent placed it into the stream, drawing in the water. "The dragon and I will never get along," Vavrin mentioned towards the end of her tale.
Onyxia is your Nihael, I suppose, he said, laughing as he stood up. And I am no flying dragon, I'm afraid, though I can only imagine the things you describe.
Yin stood up and dusted off the little bits of mud on his clothes. Come, I am sure Nihael and Yang are wondering where we are. Unless they're conversing, however unlikely that will be.

Vavrin considered his words thoughtfully. "I'm glad youre not a dragon. I much prefer you in your human form." She turned from the stream and began to walk again, heading back towards the campsite.
She could only speculate what Yang and Nihael were talking about, if they were talking at all. Vavrin couldnt think of what words they would exchange with each other, thought it was possible. Then again, it was possible that Nihael was doing all the talking. "They probably are wondering. Figuring we got lost out in the woods again or something. I think I feel hungry now, too." She glanced back at the stream and said, "Fancy myself a dip in the stream in the morning before we head out again." She kept walking alongside Yin until the fire was visible again.

"Ah, I would have thought you had been working together longer as the three of you seemed well acquainted with each other." Removing the meat from the spit, he placed another over and started to wrap up some of the remaining meat in large leaves, keeping half of the buck aside for Onyxia. "Looks like I am going to have to clean some of this blood and dirt off my gear, I can always just do it tommorrow morning, can't be bothered to head down to the river right now." Nihael thought out aloud. "I wonder what has been keeping Yin and Vavrin for so long, must be having trouble catching fish. By the way, I thought you two don't eat meat? Or do you not count fish as meat?"

Well acquainted, yes, but we have not worked together for very long, Yang said, turning away from the meat. He stared in the direction of his brother as he heard their footsteps come closer and then trail away.
"I wonder what has been keeping Yin and Vavrin for so long, must be having trouble catching fish. By the way, I thought you two don't eat meat? Or do you not count fish as meat?"
No, I am afraid my brother is just easily distracted, he said. But their footsteps approach... slowly. And fish have the same intelligence level as plants. The intelligent we do not eat, even if from time to time, we kill them.
Yang looked up as he remembered something and walked towards the wagon. He shuffled through some of his items as he pulled out a large scroll and unraveled it by the fire. We can speak of such matters after our meal, but Yin and I have chosen our next route, and we must stop off in Therinsford.
------
If you are hungry, then let us hurry, Yin said, pulling the waterskins out of the stream and tying it to his belt. He snatched up his staff and started to walk in a quick pace. How fast can you move? I hope you can keep up.

Vavrin flashed a wide grin and said, "You want to see how fast I can move? Ha..! You're the one that will have to keep up." She began taking long strides, deftly making her way through the forest. Not pausing to see how much progress Yin was making, she laughed as she emerged from the thicket of trees, finally stopping in front of the fire.
Not even breathing heavily, she heard Yin approaching behind her. Glancing at Yang and then at Nihael, she smiled at them both. "We've returned. You two have a good chat, eh?"

Took you long enough, Yin said as he placed one of his packs into the wagon and carried the other to the fire. I thought we'd have to start eating without you.
If you are done showing off, Yang said to Yin, Hand over the fish and we can start our meal.
Yin tossed the pack of fish over to Yang and turned towards the forest. Yes yes, start cooking and skinning and... everything else. I'll be collecting some herbs and some stuff for flavor.
Yang opened up the pack, pulling out four large fish. He began removing the scales with his daggers as Yin disappeared into the woods.

"If the two of you had taken any longer, we would have had to hunt you down and drag you back here. I see you managed to catch a decent amount of fish. Those hooks will come to a much more interesting use soon though." Nihael said with a malicious little smile, his eyes flashing evilly. "But first, we must eat. You wouldn't mind if we started while you are cooking your fish?" Nihael took off the chunk of meat on th skewer he had been cooking, stabbing it with his knife, he checked to make sure it had been cooked through. "So what are you planning to do in Therinsford that warrants a stop-over?"

Vavrin smirked at Nihael and stated, "I'm sure you would have liked nothing more than to drag us back, but if someone had not forgotten to refill his waterskin, we'd have been here earlier." Vavrin situated herself by the fire once more, and looked away as Yang fiddled with the fish.
"So whats this about Therinsford? Are we going to take that route instead? We could find some more supplies if needed, I suppose..." she trailed off.

Yang finished cleaning off the fish and attached them to the sticks, letting them cook against the flames. He looked around, hoping Yin would appear, but he didn't seem to be anywhere near. I suppose I shall have to explain then, he said, looking at the map. In order to get to Narda, we have to cross the Spine, right around here.
He held the map closer to the light for everyone to see and outlined the Spine with his finger. But in order to cross it, we'll have to get rid of the horses, he said, not looking at Vavrin. Unfortunate as it is, we'll have to sell them in Therinsford. Yin and I can get through the Spine well enough, but we can't drag the horses along, they'll slow us down too much. Right now, we've been traveling a little bit too south, so we'll have to go north west tomorrow. We should arrive in a few days and the travel through the Spine could take... days to weeks.

"It should be no problem getting through the Spine. Onyxia and I can scout out the fastest route through it with as little wavering from a straight line as possible. At most, it should only take us a couple days or less, and that is making provisions for any unexpected detours or difficulties. First, we should interrogate the prisoner, so we can find out if there are any more of his friends lurking in the woods. I don't mind running into them, I would just rather be more prepared this time."
Nihael quickly finished up his dinner and started to set up a spot for himself to sleep. "I suggest we sleep early so that we can get moving at the first sign of daylight, try and get as far as possible tommorrow." twitching off his blood stained tunic, Nihael sprawled himself out ontop of his cloak and bundled his cape and stuck it under his head as a pillow.

Yin walked out of the woods to hear the end of the conversation. He carried a few leaves in his hand and walked over the the fire, burning it and dropping the ashes on the fish. Even from the sky, the Spine is hard to track through, he said, collecting his fish and taking a bite from it. The trees block the view and the sun gives off illusions. But it was our home, and it shouldn't be that hard to go through with your dragon's help.
He finished eating his meal and walked towards the wagon. Yang stood up and followed. "We'll be sleeping in the wagon if you need us," they said. "We'll see you in the morning, if not earlier."

Vavrin lay on her side silently by the fire as everyone left to catch some sleep. The dying flames flickered weakly, as if they knew that thier light was no longer needed. When the fire ceased to hold her attention, she got up and kicked some dirt into it with the toe of her boot.
Carefully making her way around as to not disturb anyone's slumber, Vavrin caught a glimpse of the Rider sans tunic, resting on the ground nearby. She walked a bit more closer, being very mindful not to make a sound. Curiousity piqued, Vavrin stole several glances at Nihael's chest and lower abdomen. So, thats what he looks like shirtless... Several moments past and Vavrin had a bit of difficulty tearing herself away. Her mind raced with thoughts less than pure, but she pushed them aside and kept walking.
Making her way to her steed, she brushed his mind as she ran her fingers through his pitch black mane. She decided to keep him company for a while, since she didnt feel sleepy.

Nihael woke up, just as the first few rays of sunshine started to crop up on the horizon, the clouds awash with a reddish light. Slowly getting up and examining his surroundings, he spotted the Twins asleep in the wagon and the prisoner unceremonieusly tossed onto the ground near it. Muttering about telling the Twins that they needed the man alive and capable of speaking, he continued examining the surroundings, he spotted Onyxia, lying asleep a short distance away from him and the ashes of the camp fire, he noticed that Vavrin was nowhere to be seen. Must be checking up on her horse or probably just grew restless and decided to take a walk. Withdrawing the dagger from underneath the cape he had been using as a pillow, Nihael sheathed it before he grabbed the tunic he had left lying next to him when he went to sleep. A nice cold bath is what I need right now, plus I need to wash the grime off this thing. Turning towards where Yin and Vavrin had retruned from the river the previous night, he did not notice the somewhat fresher trail in his sleepyness.

The sky was a pale reddish hue, and Vavrin had begun to strip her clothes off and set them beside the river. Again, she reluctantly unbuckled her belt and placed her sword on the ground. Pulling off her leggings and cap-sleeved top, she placed them atop her sword then tossed her bracers and boots aside. Without a second thought she manuevered out of her underthings, the only articles left on her body being her earrings, rings, and onyx pendant.
Vavrin slipped into the chilly water and wadded farther out to where it was deeper. The cold water bit at the skin on her calves, but she kept on. Instantly her body shuddered as she got farther out, but quickly adjusted. The water raised up to her hips, and she reached out with her arms as she slid her entire body under the cover of the water. It was about up to her collarbone and she began to cleanse herself. Vavrin rubbed her eyes slightly as she sank, fully submerging herself in the river.
