Vedrit strolls through the crowded streets. He didn't know why he went to Surda, the heat always bothered him. He slumped against a wall of a building, taking a break out of the intense sun. He wipes his sweaty forehead then continues walking. He didn't know where he was heading, but he needed to get some where. After a while, he stopped at another building. He held his wrist up, the pure white-ness of it made the surroundings seem darker. Vedrit was always wondering when the egg would hatch, giving him the chance to go on ultimate adventures. And perhaps, allow him to get some revenge on the Empire for what they did to his parents.

He wound his way towards the palace. He looked at the place. It looked so much like the surrounding buildings, with it's tan color, windows with out glass. He sighed. This is where his urges took him. 'What do I need here?' He wondered as he sat in the shade. He looked at his dragon egg once more. He sits down, resting his tired and aching legs. When he came into town earlyer that day, he had taken great caution to hide his sword and bow. He didnt want any trouble wit h these people, he just wanted to live a quiet life, helping normal people with normal problems. If even that.

Vedrit sighs and walks around the palace grounds, wondering why it was the palace that he was looking for. He didn't talk to anyone. He wanted to be unknown until he was sure he knew what he was searching for. After walking around the palace wall, he leaves to find an inn where he could rent a room for cheap. He found one on the edge of town. He goes into the room, making sure that the windows were closed. He lays on his bed, the room starting to cool off. He sighs "Why here? Why the palace?" He wonders, irritated that the thing he was looking for was in or around the palace. He sits up, staring at the egg. "And when are you going to hatch?" He sighed again "This heat sucks."

He lays back and tries to rest. He sighs, sits up and gabs his sword to clean it. He was bored. After his sword couldnt possibly be any cleaner, Vedrit leaves his room to go and go to the palace. The city seemed to get hotter when Vedrit left his room. He got to the palace, his gut telling him to go in, but he knew that he shouldnt. He walked around the palace wall a few more time. He sits in some shade and watches as the day goes by.

(( Continued from here)) Polyphemus made his return to Therious after a quick scout of the city, within the walls. "All seems safe to me," he said to Therious, coming to an abrupt stop and perching atop his staff. "Let us meet our wyrd," Therious replied and revealed himself from his hiding spot. He walked through the gate, without any questions. The other side revealed a busy with life. Merchants lined the streets to sell thier wares, from carts or blankets laid on the ground. Therious purchased a couple of apples, and asked the merchant to skin, core, and piece them for him, he felt that it would not be a good idea to draw attention to himself by using magic. He paid for the goods and tipped the man for his service. He shared his apples with Poly as they wandered the streets of Alberon, waiting for fate to greet them. Vedrit felt the oddest sensation. [/i]'What the...?[/i] He wondered, looking around. He stood up, his hand twitching in want to grab his sword. He didn't want attention. He starts to wander around, looking for the cause of the odd feeling. He was getting annoyed at the feeling. He thought 'What the deus?!' after a while of not finding the source. 'What the deus' was a term his brothers used when they got irritated beyond compare.

Theroius and Poly continued to wander through the town, waiting to feel Saphira's arrival. The aimless walking led them a small well tended garden. In it's center was a small pool of water, which was frequented by many a bird in need of a bath.
Poly fluttered down and basked in the cool water, removing the dirt from his feathers. Therious sat beside the pool and began to meditate. He reached out with his mind amazed by how many people were aware of his probing. He made no effort to pry information from anyone, only to let the "blessed" ones know that he was there.
With any luck it would draw someone towards him

Darius emerged from his house, dressed in his common clothes, with his hair tied back. He brushed the few loose strands that hung in front of his face, out of his face, and proceeded down the row of buildings parallel to his home.

Like reflections on water people's personalities reavealed themselves and faded away. Although he made no effort to extract thoughts from the passersby, but ineviatbly some would betray thier own thought, memories, and emotions inadvertently. One in particular stood out to him, it was a younger human male. He distraught, but more then just the words suggest, he felt as though he was trapped in a state of perpetual dispair. Therious unconsiously began to focus his attention wholely on the poor man. Without intending to his mind reached out, and touched the young man. Before he had realized what he had done a flood of memories came flying out at him, faces, flames, a beautiful woman, blazing fire, the burned out remains of a building, bright red flames.
Then he caught himself, and broke his connection to the man. He stood abruptly and headed toward the young, man driven by an unspoken urge to help the man find solice. Poly ruffled his feathers and shook them violently to remove the remaining sprinkles of water. Through his connection with Therious he had been privy to the entire incident, and took flight in the same direction seeking out the gentleman, thinking to himself how odd it was the Therious was even the least bit concerned about a human.
It took Poly mere moments to locate the man strolling down the street, as he perched on a building directly in the young mans line of sight he gleamed an image of the location to Therious, directing him to the right spot
"I will be there shortly,"[/color] Therious assured his blue friend. Using the images he had recieved from the bird he navigated his way through the streets until coming uopn the young man. While Therious had expected him to be young, he had forgot how much age shows on the faces of humans, the boy couldn't have been more then five and twenty years. Swallowing his pride, he approached the young man, touching two fingers to his lips, he stated, "May good fortune rule over you."

Vedrit wanders around, still in search. After a while the feeling faded. Vedrit found his way to a garden. He looked around, the people didn't look very special. 'My gut is insane.' He thinks. He sits down by the well, cupping some water out with his hands and splashing it on his face, enjoying the cool it brought. He made sure to hide the dragon egg that hung at his wrist. He was pretty sure that it wasn't safe to keep it in the open. He sighs and closes his eyes. He felt tired, exhausted in some way. It was odd, because he had a good and full nights rest behind him. He sighs again, anxious about the egg.

Therious waited patiently for a response from him, but the man never even acknowledged him. Therious had heard that humans as a whole were a rude and incosiderate bunch, but as this was pretty much his first interaction he was caught off guard. He scowled at he man as he walked off, irratated by his arrogance.
Polyphemus thingyed his head sideways and glanced down on Therious, "Funny creatures aren't they."
"Indeed they are," Therious replied. He turned around and made his way back o the refuge of the garden he had inhabitated earlier. His plan was to continue his meditation, but the plan was interupted by the fact the garden already had someone else in it.
Therious began to grumble under his breath, but then noticed something odd about the individual. He was an elf. Elated at finding someone of his own race in this foreign land a smile crossed his hooded face.
Polyphemus shared in his revelry silently from treetop in the garden, having just arrived there himself.
Therious stood before the elf, touching two finger two his lips, hidden deep within the hood, and stated "Atra esterni ono thelduin" ((May good fortune rule over you.))

Vedrit looked questioning at him 'What did he say? He wondered. The many years in the mountains, leading to the lack of his native tounge. "Excuse me?" He asked. He made double-sure to hide the egg. 'This guy talks wierd...Is he from the empire? Or part of this rebellion I have heard of....' He just sat there, though he changed his expression to a blank one. The person infront of him looked familiar. The ears were much like his own and his brothers, but the person on a whole seemed...odd in comparison the Vedrit was used to.

((OOC just so you know Therious's ears would be hidden beneath the hood of his cloak))
Therious was again caught off gaurd. It seemed that this elf was not aware of his native tongue.
"I said, May good fortune rule over you. It's a greeting where I come from. After that is said it would be your place to say 'Mor'ranr lifa unin hjarta onr' or peace live in your heart. I would then respond with 'Un du evarinya ono varda,' which means and the stars watch over you.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are an elf right? Where is it that you come from that you have no knowledge of even the most basic customs of your kind?"
Therious stared confondedly at the man, in utter disbelief. Polyphemus, eager to get a better view of man swooped down to land on Therious's staff. He eyed the man as he cocked his head sideways.

Vedrit shrugged and tried to repeat what he was told he should say "Moor anr life ah union heart on roar." He nodded "Uhhm..." He thought for a moment. Surly his borthers had said something about elves. "I think I am..." He looked at the person infront of him. "I have come from the Spine. And what basic language of my kind?" As far as he knew, the language his brothers called Common, Vedrit beleived that to be the basic language. Of any race. Vedrit leaned back. "Are you from another country?" He asked. 'Maybe things were different in other countries...'

Therious smiled again chuckling at the man's response. "No I am from Alageasia, My name is Therious. My companion," gesturing at the bird sitting on his staff, "is Polyphemus. I hail from the forests of Du Weldenvarden. It is the homeland to all our kind, the fair folk, or elves. I hope to be able to return home again, before the winter solstice. When I go I think it would be appropriate for you to accompany me. Any elf that has never been to the forests would find them to be a sight full of awe and wonder. Tell me friend, what brings you this far south? And pardon me, but what is your name?"
Therious glanced around briefly to make sure no one was observing them, before waving his hand at a couple of nearby stones, " Reisa " he said quietly and the stones floated over in position behind he and the stranger. He sat down on one of the stones and gestured for the other man to join him.
Polyphemus hopped down to the ground, pecking around through the grass, rummaging for sustenance. Therious took a cue from this and pulled a handful of roasted nuts and tossed them on the ground around Poly. Afterward he again glanced around to insure no one was watching them, and focused his attention to his newly found friend.

Vedrit smiled at the hospitality of Therious, and found the bird some what entertaining. He ignored the stone. It kinda creeped him out. "I am Vedrit Mathias. I wander this far for a reason unknown to me." He looked to the sky "I am a traveller. Finding a home here and there. If the forest of which you speak of are truley as you say, I would be more than happy to accmpany you." He leaned back. Therious had some of Vedrits trust, but not enough for him to take the dragon egg into the open. He, too, looked around. He let out a sigh of relief. If he did bring the egg out of its hiding spot under his sleeve, he didnt want other people to see it.

((Pm me if you get a chance I'd like to learn more of you character, and what he's all about, to benefit the rp / and vice versa of course.))
Therious was concerned. It was strange for any elf to have been raised outside the Du Weldenvarden, he honestly found the thought somewhat frightening. In the short amount of time he had been away from the forest he had noticed subtle changes in himself.
He muttered a few incomprehinsible words of the ancient language, immediatly erecting minor wards around his consiousness. He lowered his defenses against mental invasion and then sent his mind on a journey to seek out anyone with ill will directed toward him. Thus preventing him from having to continually look over his shoulder, for what might or might not actually be there.
Upon doing so he detected an aura of deciept around Vedrit. He was hiding something, hiding it with the very core of his soul. Refusing to force himself on another being yet again, he forced himself not to focus on it. Opening his mind up to the going ons around him. he sensed a merchant and a customer arguing heatidly about something, a dog chasing a small rodent through the treeline, and something he had only felt a few times before, and much more of it this time.
Children, and lots of them. Children were rare among elves, but the energy of a child was indescribable. It was like immersing yourself in a warm blanket of giggles. Poly felt the warm carrening through Therious, and cawed gently, fluttering his wings while streching them.
Much to his content Therious did not feel much of anything he should be afraid of. Out of instinct he again checked his indirect line of sight for anyone looking in his direction, not wanting to draw attention to himself. Leaning his staff against right shoulder, cradling it in the crook of his arm he moved his hands to the side of his hood. he pulled back on the cloth to reveal the grayish white skin of his face. His lips glimmered a deep black cherry red, his hair stark white like snow with the tips of his ears poking through the strands. His eyes were a pale blue, almost white, with no pupil. Pleased to see his friends face again, Poly hopped over to get a better vantage point. Therious reached out and scratched the underside of the birds neck.
"It is pleasent to have come across someone like you. It is unique for an elf to not have been brought up inside elven society. I would love to teach you more.....but if fear that first we should make an oath or sorts to one another, to insure each others intentions. For then we would have no need to worry about anything that is said. In the ancient language, the one that all elves speak, one can tell no lie. Anything spoken is the truth. I would simply ask you to repeat the words, "Eka aí friai un vanyali," which mean I am elf and friend, as I have just said them to you."
Therious waited patiently, sure that Vedrid would require some coaching with the words after the way he butchered the intial greeting.
((Spell check wouldn't work ??? ))

(( lol, I think I might do that.)) Vedrit nodded, ignoring another odd feeling as Therious used his magic. Vedrit shifted uneasily. Whes Therious removed his hood, Vedrit studied the face. The lack of pupils made Therious seem blind. And the hair made Therious seem like an old mad. "I like to be unique." He said, taking the comment as a compliment "The only society I know is.." He didn't want to talk about his brothers. It made him long for thier companion ship. "The society consited of few people." He was also uneasy about the oath, but he nodded any how, trying to repeat the odd words he had to say. "Eek a ai fry ai yun vany ali." The words felt odd to his toung. 'Well, I should learn a new language.' He thought to himself. He looked around, not wanting to look into the odd eyes of Therious. He didn't even want to look at the bird, Vedrit was sure that the bird would be much like the owner.

Therious sighed, relieved by Vedrit's willingness to extend a basic amount of trust between them. He repositioned himself on the ground in front of the rock, leaning against it for support, in preparation to tell an extended story. Curious about what it was Vedrit was hiding, Therious was sure the only way to find out was to reveal more about his quest.
"The time will come shortly when I will ask for you to tell me of your journey, but as an act of faith and good will I tell you of myself first. As I have already said I come from Du Weldenvarden, a forest in the northern end of Alageasia. It reaches from the spine all the way to the eastern side of the Hadar'ac. My village, Ceris, is small and filled with elves full of joy in their hearts, even in the dark times that surround us. "
"It was not a year ago when I began to be visited in my hours of meditation, by visions of a beautiful blue dragon. At first I thought little of it, the visions were infrequent at first. However, over time they came more and more often, and began to be accompanied by a sense of urgency, and need. I heard, through the songs of the forest, tales of a new rider in Alageasia, a savior of sorts. A man who shared the name of the first rider, Eragon. The tales also told of the blue dragon I saw, her name being Saphira Brightscales. Time passed and it seemed I could not close my eyes without seeing a hundred possible demises that me befall the pair, until I reached a decision, to seek out the Skulblaka," he paused, "That means dragon, literally leather flapper, in the ancient language. I decided to seek out Saphira and swear with every fiber of my being to keep death from crossing her path, as I feel it is my wyrd or destiny."
He placed a roasted nut in his mouth and savored it's flavor as he chewed it. Reaching deeper into his pouch he pulled out the remaining cheese and bread, laying his folded feldunost blanket out as a place-mat. He but the meal on the fur and muttered "knifr," and the bread and cheese sliced spontaneously into pieces. He gathered a few pieces of each, gesturing for Vedrit to do the same, and continued his story.
"My mother, Cajora, was infuriated when I told her of my plans to leave Ceris. She told me that this new rider and his dragon could fend for themselves, that nothing I could say or do would benefit thier cause. I left with a broken bridge between us."
"I have spent the greater part of the last hundred years of my life studying the ancient language, and therefore the magic which it controls. I have not yet mastered it, nor do I believe I ever will, but my skills with it are rivaled by only a few in this great land. I believe that there will come a time where I will have to choose between my own livelihood, and Saphira's, and I intend to give my life so that she may live."
At the last his words Polyphemus shuttered, troubled by the prophecy of his life long friend's demise. He hoped that it would be a long while before that time would come.
" Now then friend, ask of me anything you wish, I will be happy to fill your ears with best answers my knowledge will allow. In return I only ask that you tell me something of yourself, so that I may gain some insight in to the life of my newest companion."
Therious smiled at Vedrit, hoping that the bond between them would grow to a happy friendship. He had not been able to develop many friendly relationships at home, people thought him to be somewhat mad, especially the more he delved into the inter-workings of the graymarye. He nibbled quietly on his bread and cheese while he waited for a retort from Vedrit.

Vedrit took in a deep breath, then let it out, in preparations of his own life's story. "Well, when I was but a babe, from what I hear, the empire came to where my family was living, and killed my parents. My two elder brothers took me, a few possessions, and fled to the mountains, where we lived. My brothers were educated, but not in what you say is our native tongue. They taught me the art of defense, and the most common language that was spoken. The one we are using now. Shortly after my day of birth, which was shortly after the midwinter, I left on my own adventures." He took the offered bread and cheese. "The going was slow, I had met up with other adventurers, who were in the Spine. We were deciding what we should do..." He stopped, not wanting to mention the discovery of the dragon egg. "When the empire appeared. Every one scattered across the mountain, I headed to the south. I heard that there, a rebellion was mounting. I wanted to avenge the death of my parents. So I headed here." Vedrit winced when he made the mistake of saying such information, when he didn't know how Therious felt concerning the Empire. But he continued any how. "When I was in the desert, I thought of turning back, but a feeling urged me here. To the palace, more like. I spent a few days here, when the feeling led me to you. And here we are, explaining what we have been through." Vedrit let out a sigh. It was relieving to talk about his past, though it left him awkward.
