With labored steps the young woman walked through the town, cramp seizing up her legs like she was walking through rapidly drying cement. That is what I get for not stretching properly.
After two weeks imprisonment in her unconscious body her muscles had tensed and lost the powerful grace and accuracy with which she usually moved, leaving Keri walking along as if she had invisible weights around her ankles.
Saeunn strolled beside her, he turned his crystal blue eyes to her and a quake of air around him announced a low chuckle purring in his throat.
You knew it would happen..
Oh be quiet you, I couldn't think straight..could I? Plus I was in fits because the connection between us was lost! You can't exactly say you were cool and collected either could you?
Saeunn snorted and turned his head away, yet he knew that a knowing smirk that had appeared on Keri's features. Now the mental link between the rider and dragon had been restored, Keri could see flashbacks of Saeunn's memories of his actions when the link had gone. After mindlessly devouring a field of sheep Saeunn had no memory of what happened, like there was no consciousness. Keri had a feeling Saeunn had become what you would call a wild dragon.
A jolt of pain caused Keri to fall sideways as her left leg gave way. Her hands grasped a spike on the end of Saeunn's tail which he had moved out for her. Forcing herself to her feet Keri tried to hold in a strangled whimper of pain, but Saeunn knew of how she felt, even with the impaired link between then.
Pulling up his tail with Keri still grasping the spike he held it over his back where Keri let go and landed softly on the spike less section between his wings.
Not needed to be told to be careful Saeunn leaned onto his powerful haunches and pushed off, his dark blue wings snapping open and catching air, forcing his huge bulk into the morning sky.
Keri's red hair streamed out behind her, she let her legs hang loose at Saeunn's side as she tried to ease the pain. Holding onto a spike in front of her Keri looked over Saeunn's shoulder and breathed deep the clean air. It was good to be conscious, the cool air stung her tired eyes and she closed them tight as they began to water. Instead of savoring the sights Keri released a happy sigh at the feeling of the wind blowing through her crimson hair and the rush of adrenalin she always got from flying.
Seeing through Saeunn's eyes she could see them soaring over the a large wall and soaring over the stadium. Keri felt the familiar rush of air as Saeunn dove steeply.Snapping his wings open at the last minuete to land softly on the ground inside the stadium.
''We're early..''
''Yes. but everything we need is in this pack.''[/color] Saeunn pointed out by shaking slightly, causing the contents in the pack on his back to rustle.
Keri hadn't expected him to shake as she was carefully dismounting. Losing her footing Keri fell from Saeunn's back and only just managed to grab the pack that hung over his back.
''Well done, that was pretty cl-'' Keri's words were cut of as a snap cut through the silent air and the pack slipped from Saeunn's back.
Keri landed on her feet as she hit the ground but a sharp pain snapped through her and with a strangled yell she fell to her back.
'' Luckily the pack missed you..'' chuckled Saeuun as a crunch announed the packs landing only a few feet away from Keri.
Lying flat on her back with her cheeks slightly pink Keri snorted sarcastically ''Yes, Lucky lucky me ''.
