Personality: Rukia is an independent young woman who can stand on her own two feet and will take no abuse or mockery for anyone. She tends to get aggressive when the people around her are being sexist, mocking or flirty. She has a strong personality which she is not afraid to show. History: Rukia was brought up as an orphan for most of her early life in various different families until recently when a noble of a grand house adopted her as his sister. She interacts little with her adoptive brother who is many years older than her. Kuchiki Byakuya is a proud man who next to ignores his adoptive sister, who goes out of her way to win his attention and affection.
Before adoption, Rukia was very close to her best friend, the orphan boy, Renji and the two did everything together. After Byakuya adopted Rukia, however, the two never saw each other again. Rukia misses her best friend very much in her new home, where she is treated and expected to behave as a noblewoman when she has been so accustomed to the life of a child with no responsibilities.
