Race : Mountain Rocs
Live: Western edge of the island
Alliances: Dragons, Grey Folk descendants (war-like)
Leaders/hierarchy: There is no real leader or high group. It is like the dragons where the eldest rocs teach the young how to live and behave
Birthplace: N/A
Longevity (Avg.): Somewhere around 500 years but they never really age in appearance
Identifying features: Large wings that are covered in greyish colored feathers and jagged claws that ridge along the outer edge. They have two thick legs with large talons much like eagles and shorter front legs with smaller talons so they can drop to four legs.
Av height: 10 feet at the base of the neck since the heads are not always the same. Their wings are normally double their height in total wingspan
Av weight: 2000 pounds
Magic users: N/A
Strengths: They are avid flyers and can maneuver easier than any dragon as well as quickly turn corners better than any flying creature. Their beaks are really strong, almost like stone, and are great for tearing their prey to pieces
Look like they are smaller than dragons, which gives the impression that they are also weaker than the dragons. This is not true in any sense so they are very misunderstood creatures
Weaknessess: Unable to breathe fire or use magic. Their feathered wings are easy targets and quick ways to kill or maim them. It is easy to take out a Roc's legs since they are necessary to keep them alive.
Preffered weapons?: Beak, large talons on their legs and sometimes the jagged edges of their wings. There is really no war-like roc unless it is defending its home or family.
Personality: The roc is a very peaceful bird of prey until it is in fear of being attacked. They are normally a hunter of small animals and very rarely will they get involved with fights. Yet there are young Rocs who enjoy the thrill of fighting. The mating of the Mountain Roc is a process where they have to fight each other to impress the females
