Side: Varden
Birthplace: Sílthrim | Du Weldenvarden
Age: 138 years
Gender: Male
Birthday: October 8th

Preferred Weapon(s):
Rakr-adurna | Mist-water
Here | Ithelos' original rider's blade, he has held onto it since the Fall, claiming it to be the only thing that kept him sane through the whole ordeal with Vroenguard and Illrea. Made almost entirely of brightsteel, the leather of the hilt-wraps are the only other material. An odd shape for a sword, as it has no hand-guard, this blade is meant to be used in only a specific style, a style that Ithelos perfected long ago. It is meant to be used more in stabbing motions and short, precise swings aimed to disarm and kill in the same fluid movement, though Ithelos has also included some degree of power into the style as well, being that of his personal preference. The outer edge is of harder brightsteel than the center, to allow a stronger edge but more flexible blade. What little decoration it holds is built for function and not simple aesthetics. The face on the front of the hilt clicks open to reveal the sword's gem, a glittering diamond that matches the colour of Kveykva's scales.
NOTE: The picture I have provided gives the hilt and pommel the colour of gold. Rakr-adurna has a hilt and pommel of silver.
Appearance:
Here | Slim, yet strong cheekbones and a lean face, Ithelos' regal features give an inspiring presence, the face of a true leader. However, that is not what he feels, as he does not personally believe he can lead troops effectively, so instead he rides off with Kveykva to do his own thing most of the time.
He walks with a very composed and almost self-confident demeanour, exerting his confidence onto others. He is lean, with the slight muscles of a youth, yet he is not diminished, there is a certain strength in him that few would be able to see. After spending so long in the company of dragons in the harsh conditions of the northern mountains, this certain strength gives him the edge over most other elves, with increased endurance and strength.
Unlike most Riders however, Ithelos has become more and more similar to a dragon, claiming that he is now more dragon than of his own kind. This is untrue, however, it does hold some cause for theory, as Ithelos' slow growing connection to Kveykva becomes more and more evident as the days crawl by. An example of this is Ithelos' eyes, which used to be green in colour and have now changed to a light cyan, not quite as intense as his dragon's eyes or scales however.
His raven black hair forms similar to smoke in a fire, yet reversed. It has no real shape or substance, only slipping through your fingers when grasped, a silky and smooth sensation across their hand. It was inherited from his father, who was noted for cutting his hair when he was captured by a group of Urgals. They had held him by the hair while they gloated him, and while they were laughing, he revealed a dagger and cut through a swathe of his own hair to escape from their grasp.
As for apparel, Ithelos usually wears his former Rider Courier garbs, which have been modified slightly with bear pelts to allow him to stay warm in the winter and in the harsh northern mountains. The outfit, pictured Here consists of a simple woollen undershirt, dark leather trousers, a sleeveless black riding tunic with red and gold overlay and a bear pelt shawl. Several brass brooches and a leather belt with a gold buckle keep everything together and the outfit is usually accompanied by thick leather boots lined with bear pelt from the back paws of the animal. Sometimes, Ithelos has been known to wear this with a scale or chainmail tunic underneath the riding tunic, to allow for better protection, fastened with a pair of simple leather bracers to further protect his wrists.
In battle, he wears his father's armour, which he has kept since the Fall in very good condition, even adding a small diamond to the crest of the helm. The armour, seen Here is custom built Rider's armour made in Rhunon's forge 539 years before current for Kianos of the Black Sky. It is not constructed of brightsteel, however it is built from a new alloy created by folding and tempering steel, iron and an ore called malachite into each other, creating a very strong armour. The suit itself now only consists of the chestplate, fauld, pauldrons and helmet, as the other pieces were lost during Kianos' final battle. The fauld bears the crest of the Argenel family, a golden eagle with a pair of outstretched talons on a black background. Underneath the armour plating, it is backed with an undercoat of leather padding compressing a chainmail undershirt between the armour itself and the padding. The same pattern is used for the armour used to accompany the original suit, now that several of the pieces are missing. Ithelos usually wears a scalemail or chainmail shirt underneath, again backed with leather padding and tough leather gauntlets on each wrist, with rougher leather on the inside of the palm, so as to allow for better grip.
Likes:
Ithelos does not hold many likes, but in a rather unusual fashion, creates jokes around the things he does not like. Even in a grim environment, he will try to lighten the mood with a most likely dark joke that only succeeds in worsening the sadness or worry. He enjoys thinking of ways to circumvent wards on the battlefield, a strategic battle of thinking against opponents who most likely would not be present. He and Kveykva both enjoy flight, Ithelos in particular finds it very fun, having practised diving off of Kveykva several times, only to find that his ribs snapped from the pressure of the fall. In summary, Ithelos is a bit of a daredevil, with a knack for making people either smile or grimace, a likeable character, though not entirely trust-inspiring.
Dislikes:
Ithelos holds a bitter and twisted hatred within his heart of the King Galbatorix, believing him responsible not only for his father's death but also the death of his master Arva. Every misdeed the Forsworn has done now rests on Galbatorix's stone-hard confidence, according to Ithelos, therefore Galbatorix must die. He also holds a deep-rooted distrust of the Knurlan Dwarves, as his brother is the ambassador between their two peoples, and he does not trust his brother.
Strengths:
Having trained to fight since birth, Ithelos is an exceptional swordsman and hunter, able to track animals and humans, as well as defeat most average creatures found in Du Weldenvarden. Having grown up in Sílthrim, Ithelos is also an experienced sailor and trader, having helped his father on several occasions with his business while he was helping the Riders. Ithelos' combat style revolves around speed and countering attacks instead of power, though there is some degree of that present. He is skilled in several types of weaponry, including spears, daggers, swords and also his fists in close combat. In combat, Ithelos does not cast many spells, as it is not his area of expertise, however the spells and wards he does cast are very inventive and clever, using methods of fighting usually overlooked by magicians. He is very acrobatic by nature and dismounting quickly has become second-nature to him under his instruction by the northern wild dragons. Flying is also an area which he excels in, much more than most other Riders of this age, as he has spent the better part of 100 years training with Kveykva.
Weakness:
Ithelos has a tendency to be very overconfident, despite feigning innocence from this matter. He denies strongly that he has an ego like his dragon Kveykva, but there is definitely one present, as for how inflated it is, it's anyone's guess. In combat, Ithelos does not concentrate on defence as much as offence, and therefore usually receives a number of wounds in battle, much more than he should. As for magic, Ithelos does not focus on the subject, however, the spells he does cast are very powerful. Crude, mostly, but powerful, for the reasons mentioned in the Strengths section. When fighting, he and Kveykva like to play games with each other. Who can get the most kills in an allotted time etc., which often distracts the both of them from the current battle and leaves openings in their defences which normally wouldn't exist.

Not-So-Brief History:
----Legacy
Before we can begin to understand Ithelos' story, we must first delve into the depths of his father's past. The Rider of the Black Dragon, Kianos of the Dark Sky, and the beast itself, Ulthres Nightscales. Feared by those who would stand against the Riders as the best swordsman in the land, second to only his mentor Konin and his dragon Mor'lok. The pair were famed during their early years as the turning point of a battle between the Dwarvenkind and the Elves over the port town of Hedarth, which was built to frequent trade between the two.
Dragon Bio
Name: Kveykva | Lightning
Age: 104
Physical Description:
Here | Majestic and proud, the male dragon Kveykva stands from head to earth at well over 50ft tall, with a length from nose to tail of over 100ft. He is much longer than most dragons, due to his purpose-bred flying muscles that suited his status as the Rider's messenger dragon with his Rider Ithelos.
He has a much, much larger wingspan than most other dragons that are recorded at his age, again due to his flying capacity. This, coupled with his rather thick and powerful tail with somewhat of a rudder-like membrane at the end, makes him a very potent force in the air. However, his front legs are rather much shorter than most dragons of his age, more muscle being concentrated into his back legs, which are used to take of and help steering.
Scales of beautiful and yet highly intimidating silver, which glitter a colour very close to cyan when hit with sunlight. His scales, due to their position, look more like steel plating when he flies, which acts as more of a deterrent for arrows than anything else... well, besides Kveykva's pride. His large round eyes are coloured a bright shade of cyan to match his scales. He has seven spikes on each cheek and his horns are simple and closely follow the contours of his neck in a sweeping back motion. He has somewhat of a beard made of several spikes with an orange membrane threaded between them, similar to his neck spikes, which start from the crest of his head down to the tip of his tail.
Where They Hatched:
Having hatched to Ithelos when he was taken to Vroenguard to be tested, Kveykva hatched before the Fall of the Riders, therefore he did not take the egg from either the Varden or from Galbatorix's Empire as neither existed at the time.
Personality:
A lot like his Rider, Kveykva is a very cynical person, finding grim humour even at the worst possible moment. He and his Rider share insults against each other in friendly gestures, his favourite being Long-nose-round-ears, which provided Kveykva with hours of hilarity, while Ithelos didn't get the humour of it at all. But that was to be expected, he was simply an elf. Speaking of his relationship with Ithelos, they both seem to have very similar ideas, ambitions and dreams, a feat not shared by many a Rider in the past. Both are very much brash, bold and imaginative, much like the Dragon and Rider who left Vroenguard the day the Forsworn attacked.
However, one thing they do not share is Kveykva's pride or 'ego' as Ithelos calls it. Kveykva spends a huge amount of time preening himself and making sure his scales are well presented, as well as flaunting his large muscles in order to attract a mate. Arrogant and headstrong, their recklessness would have cost them their lives if not for Ithelos' incredible luck.
The loss of not only Vroenguard but also their master Arva and his dragon Arthes hit both of them hard and caused them to go into a long seclusion in the northern mountains, past the Spine. Believing themselves to be the only Rider and Dragon team left alive, they began to train as Galbatorix's killers, a twisted sense of vengeance that led them into friendship with the wild dragons of the north.
