((Ha Ha did you really believe that Vaentr would allow Brenton to die like that? Time for the wrench in everyone's plans))
Hot sunlight beat down upon the eastern boarder of the Hadarac Desert as a sudden blue flash of light appeared. Out of the light stepped a man wearing armor with a golden crown resting upon his head while a great golden dragon swooped down and landed next to the man. Someone who had once looked twenty five years old now was closer to thirty five in appearance. Over his shoulders sat a longbow made of yew that had been sung from the trees it had come from with a large quiver of arrows while on his belt was a sheathed dagger with a small dragon as the pommel. Friend, partner of my heart and soul, we must return home. Even the man's voice was aged, deeper and more melodious.
A deep rumble came from the throat of the golden dragon. He had been but a young hatchling before the fight, yet Grazael was now as large as Vaentr had been. Curious things happened when magic was involved and this happened to be one of those times. Grazael cast his mind out towards the Elven Nation and soon came upon the young dragon, Arlyn. Do not tell anyone unless it is a life threatening situation but Brenton and I live on. Things about us have changed and we may be different but I swear to you Arlyn that I am who I claim to be. Grazael's voice was much deeper but he was sure that Arlyn would recognize him. Brenton mounted the larger dragon who he had come to accept as the friend he had been and his savior in the fight. They turned and looked at the trees which they were standing right next to and began walking into them. Quickly they flew into the air and headed toward the city of Ellesmera, home. Guards gasped as the dragon flew over head and they began to kneel but the former king dismissed them with a wave of his hand and took off.
The city came within view and Brenton bellowed in a joyous note, not realizing it had been two months since he had "died" as everyone believed. In turn, Grazael gave a deep roar and they flew down to land next to the group of elves who had gathered next to them. "King Brenton, welcome back to the city." One of the citizens walked up to Brenton but he shook his head and dismounted slowly. I made Laetri king and unless he agrees to give me the crown back then he will continue to rule you. It is good to be back though now please lead me to Isrydia and Seril who should be training soon. The elves began to part and Brenton walked next to them toward where his former pupils were.
