Riders
While technically not a race by themselves, they can come from any race but still gain special abilities beyond their base race.
Average lifespan: infinite until killed
Average Height: depends on original race
Average Weight: depends on original race
Appearance: Riders can be elven or human and retain the traits of their race. Though humans may take on a slightly elven appearance due to the bond with their dragon. All riders have a gedwëy ignasia on either the palm of their right or left hand. This silver symbol is permanent and created when they are bound to their dragon.
Personality: varies
Alignment: any.
Special Traits: The bond with the Riders and their dragons gives the Riders a strong and powerful ability to use magic and enhanced physical abilities. Through rigorous training, a Rider can become some of the most powerful magicians and swordsmen in all of Alagaësia.
The formal training of a Rider and dragon traditionally took many years, and the Dragon Riders continued to hone their skills throughout their lives.
