This is a short story I'm righting about my group of friends that are Live Rp'ers that play vampyres and a vampyre hunter. Each of our characters has a human counterpart that when they change, their apperance changes with them. The basis of this is that the Hunter, my character Akara, is out hunting when she comes across her old flame, Draco, who is a vampyre. She brings up past experiences of Draco killing her family in order to save her when they found out that she was in love with a vampyre. It starts a little confusing because you don't meet the two characters that show themselves in the second chapter who happen to be Draco and Akara's children, Twins. Draco doesn't know they exist because she ran when she found out she was pregnent with his child. The twins have just reached their 18th birthday and are coming into their half-vampyre inheritence.
Ch. 1: Reunion
He stood on the edge of the building, the sound of the nightlife blaring in his ears. He glanced around, his red eyes scanning the city, looking for…her. She’d said she was going to visit her family then come back. ‘Course that had been 17 years ago. For all he knew she could be dead or claimed by another by now. He flinched as an arrow shot by him, barely missing his ear. He turned in time to see a small girl with spiky blonde and brown hair notch another arrow to her bow and felt a stirring of recognition.
“You’re in my hunting territory. Do you know what that means for any of your kind?” she asked her blue eyes flashing dangerously. “Leave or I’ll be forced to kill you.” She stopped before lowering her bow. “You!” she whispered venomously, her personality changing from that of a moment ago. “What are you doing back here, Draco?” He watched as her hair grew to be a straight black waterfall flowing down her back and she closing her eyes. When she opened them, he saw instead of that piercing blue, emerald green had made itself known.
“Akara, the vampire hunter of the demon world, whose name means that which she hunts… Tell me did you ever see your family?” he asked, his eyes glinting.
“The family you massacred?” she shot back, her voice filling with anger and pain.
“To protect you!” he shot back.
“They didn’t even know!” She cried, raising her bow and drawing the string back. She paused, her eyes flashing with conflicting emotions. “They didn’t have to die, Draco. You know the law, dammit! I don’t want to have to kill you! God, I don’t want to kill you…” she whispered, her voice fading as she spoke. “I still love you, but the law is the law…” She watched as he squared his shoulders and prepared for the shot.
She watched the shot in her minds eyes as the arrow traced its path to his heart and realized a split-second to late that her fingers had slipped. “NO!” she cried reaching out and trying to catch the arrow. She felt a searing pain as the feathers sliced her palm open. She stopped as a black shadow passed in front of her. She watched as it caught the arrow before it could pierce his heart.
A tall teenage male rose from his spot on the roof, his had clutching the arrow in a tight grip. He walked to her and smiled, his long black hair, leather pants, tight shirt, and dark skin making him seem like a sex god in the darkness. She looked at him, taking in the site of the kunai hanging from a sheath on his shoulder and a sword hanging from a sheath tied to his back.
“Romulus! Thank whatever gods there be.” She took the arrow he offered her, her green eyes shining brightly.
“…Losing your touch there ‘Kara?” he teased, his eyes glinting in the moonlight.
“Cut the bull, Rom. How are they?” she asked, her eyes glancing toward Draco.
“Not well. He’s fine but they don’t know if she’ll make it. You know most females don’t.” His eyes flashed with pain and he glanced angrily at Draco. “He may be the only one who can save her, though I don’t like the idea.”
“If someone doesn’t tell me who I’m supposed to be saving, I might decide against helping you.” They turned toward him, worry and anger evident in their eyes.
“Come.” They said, turning and jumping into the alley between their building and the next.
