After finally catching up on all the seasons of game of thrones im stuck to wonder. Since these books became such an amazing tv show and I've yet to read the books sadly, but I plan on buying them soon. Why not make the inheritance cycle a tv show just like Game of thrones. That would probably come out better then a movie honestly.

Eeeh, they already messed up the movie enough. Besides, as in Game of Thrones, you can't put all the info from the books into a ton of 30 min vids. You'll end up missing too bloody much and that would ruin it.

The Song of Fire and Ice books also had a huge following even before the TV series came out. Much larger then the one for the Inheritance Cycle. It's one of the reasons why they made the TV series in the first place. So it's highly unlikely we'll see a TV series for Eragon, especially seeing how badly the movie ultimately did.

Whether or not anyone would actually do it aside, it would be a nice thing to see (provided they didn't mess up of course). I'd hope they would make a few adaptions and a few of the plot points are kinda off in the Inheritance books. Is Eldest or Brisingr the boring one where they just spend ages discussing dwarf politics? That wouldn't make for a good TV series.
If you do read the GoT books, which you should because they're very good, and they give you more of an insight into why characters are doing things and who everyone is as well as things that didn't happen in the series, you'll see just how much stuff happens. All that is far too much for a film, so the books suited adaptation into a TV series. Eragon suits being made into a film better than a TV series as there are more things in each books that could be cut out. Granted, the film they did make was terrible, but they could come up with something better.

Hmm well Hrothgar died in Eldest and Eragon was forced to get a new sword (Brisngr) after Zar'roc was taken so it was Brisngr that was mostly about dwarves politics and the quest to forge the new rider blade. As for a tv series, I could see it working but it would have to be similar to like what they did with Heroes with all of the different aspects and how they were constantly switching PoV to make an episode. Creates more series growth and makes it possible to expand past what actually happened in the book. Plus we have all of this time where Brom/Eragon rode from Carvahall and across the land learning/teaching. We never learned what that entailed. Definitely a possibility but not something I would want to see done by just any ordinary television producers.

Switching PoV could work. They do that in GoT too, because there are just so many characters and most are far apart from one another. They could add in the perspectives of other characters too, since until the last book it's basically all just Eragon. They could have someone back in Carvahall, maybe introduce a new Empire character and/or have Murtagh's PoV. Just to add to the story. It would be nice to see more from the Empire's perspective, since in the books they're quite shallow as just a generic bad guy to set up a good vs evil thing. In reality, there would only be a few nutters in the Empire ie Galby, but the others would be normal people quite happy to take orders from the Empire. Just seems quite unimaginative to just go 'right, this is the Empire, they're the bad guys so everyone in them is either enslaved and unhappy or evil and you should kill them and it won't matter because they're evil'. Real life doesn't work like that, so it would be refreshing to see them believing what they're doing is right, their motivations being to make things better for people. Tbh Eragon is kind of a dick in the books (at least the first ones) so people would be more interested if there was someone else offered to support. I always wanted to see more of Murtagh, I liked him.

I honestly can't see anybody ever doing a TV show for Eragon, despite how awesome it would turn out. The failure of a movie likely demolished any positive feelings that directors would have for the books. 'Hey, you should make a TV show for Eragon'. 'Really, after how terrible the movie was? Nobody would watch it'. 'Oh, I guess you're right'. Unless there was tons of financial backing and an increase in interest for the books and/or the movie, for whatever reason, I don't see it happening.
