Full Name: Alaari Frost
Other name:
Race: Half-Elf. (Human Mother, Elvish Father)
Side: Assassins
Birthplace:
Teirm
Age:
27
Gender:
Female.
Birthday:
January 3rd
Eyes:
A soft Emerald green color.
Hair:
Long Chocolate brown hair that reaches down to her waist
Weight:
102 lbs
Height:
5'4 ft
Magic User:
Because of her father's elven blood, Alaari has found it rather easy to read and study the Ancient Language along with using magic, something that she hasn't grasped though is how to fight with it. Instead she's been focusing her magical abilities on herself, making sneaking around a lot easier for her. She's quite good however at using her own mind to scan the environment for anyone who might be walking around. Though this alone has caused her to accidentally reveal herself.
Preferred Weapon(s):
Alaari is fairly good with a bow, it's not her favorite way of fighting which is with daggers and quick movements. When it comes to magic and fighting she's a no go, she doesn't fight with magic but she does know how to reach out and touch minds with her own as well as protect herself from others who might try and enter her mind.
When it comes to dagger fighting she utilizes her speed and agility to be as annoying as possible and evade anyone she's fighting, often leaving cuts on arms and legs to slow them down further before ending with a stab in the back. Though if she can sneak up on a target without them noticing she'll often just finish them off before any fighting can start.
One of her daggers:
Appearance:
Alaari has waist long hair which shares her mother's chocolate brown color, instead of keeping it free flowing like her mother she has it mostly tied up into a ponytail that has been tied up with two brown bands to keep it from spreading out too much. Her eyes she got from her father, an elf, Emerald green and if she puts her mind to it, rather innocent looking. Nowadays she usually wears black or brown clothing and a black jacket if the weather is colder. Her form is rather slender but leans slightly towards a curvy body. She has managed to keep herself rather scar free, though she has one scar on the left side of her waist, going up from her hip and disappears before it reaches her arm.
Just like her sister her ears are longer than regular Human ears but also not as sharp as Elven ears, which during her younger years have made both her and her sister targets for bullying by those of their age. However now as of late those who used to bully both her and her sister Alriina are now more respectful of Alaari and her sister after Alaari beat up one of those who bullied them.
Alaari doesn't really care about what she's wearing, but she can appreciate a nice looking dress and jewelry. However, she rarely wears it herself, and when she does she makes sure she look as good as possible. Though it's nothing compared to the elves in Ellesmera or almost anywhere else in Du Weldenvarden.
Personality:
Alaari is a friendly person, might be because of her rather charismatic father whom she's never met. But she can be quite cold as well, being an Assassin she isn't afraid of spilling blood and will mostly kill without hesitating if you are her target. However, should someone she knows be targeted, she might have to take some time to think about what she's supposed to do. She's also a quite good liar as well.
--->Likes:
- Reading: She enjoys reading almost any book she can come across, and if it's in the Ancient Language she doesn't mind and sees it as an opportunity to learn more about her Father's blood.
- Singing: When she's traveling alone or just sitting in her room she might from time to time sing for herself, she does it to relax herself. She's quite sure that her sister haven't heard her.
- Spending time with her sister: Alaari loves her sister, though they might disagree on things from time to time and the have the occasional fight between them. But she looks past that and is quite happy to have a sister.
- Dragons: She finds them impressive and intimidating, she holds great respect for them.
- Dragon Riders: She respects those who ride Dragons greatly.
--->Dislikes:
- People who talk a lot: She finds people who talk all the time annoying and would prefer that they could just shut up, but often more than not they don't and just keep on blabbering.
- Dogs: Alaari dislikes dogs because they are too clingy, they want you to spend all your time on them all the time and if you don't they'll begin to bark, no Alaari dislikes dogs.
- Locked doors: Locked doors are something that she dislike, especially if she's supposed to get something on the other side of the door. Though that's nothing a simple spell can't fix.
- Ra'zac and Lethrblaka: The Ra'zac and Lethrblaka are like walking nightmares for Alaari, she's not getting close to one if she has a choice.
--->Strengths:
- Strenght: Alaari is part elf so she's stronger than she look.
- Agility: Because of her heritage she's able to move silently when others might have been detected. Because of her agility she can sneak through windows quite easily if they are open.
- Fighting: Alaari is also quite good at fighting with her two daggers and is decent with the bow but prefer the efficiency of the daggers.
- Lying: Alaari is quite the liar, years of lying has payed of quite well for the Half-elf.
--->Weakness:
- Lacks in combat magic.
- Is easily annoyed and because of her elven blood she might take criticism a bit worse than others around her.
Family:
Father (Elf): Volder
Mother (Human): Erisa
Sister (Half-Elf): Alriina (Talked to Rurin about this, she's fine with it)
History: Born to a human mother and elven father, Alriina and Alaari Frost were born as twins to the world as half-elves.
The elf, Volder and the human, Erisa Frost, met by pure chance. When Volder left Ellesmera in the company of his fellow elves to meet with the Varden in a matter concerning the Empire, he stumbled upon a woman with long tresses of dark brown and eyes as sweet as honeydew. His companions were nowhere to be found but they were of little concern to the elven man who was struck by this human's unwavering gaze. He was spoken to in soft, hushed tones, that she had twisted her ankle fleeing from a bandit raid on her village. She spoke with a sense of calmness that was odd from what Volder knew of humans and he would have left her to fend for herself had it not been for her courage. Volder thought humans weak, usually content to let them die their inevitable death but not this one.
Volder simply looked at her in a way an elf may look for their reflection in a pool or lake. He saw her not as a mere human, but as a woman and she saw the simmer in her eyes and the way she hid her fear though it was plain to him. She knew what he was, by his ears, his body, his hair and simply the way he stood hidden in the trees. A triad of bandits came from the other side, looking very much like the humans he would expect, wielding blunt knives. The woman called for his assistance, that if it so pleased him it would mean very much. There was no begging, no crying and while Volder heard some desperation, he did not see this as a deciding factor. Without another thought, he raised his bow and notched an arrow.
When Volder's companions found him again, he was kneeling beside the human woman with three human men wounded and immobilized but not dead. Volder had not said a single word for he knew that his actions should have disgusted him but they did not. The woman's eyes flickered to the band of elves who kept their distance. He helped her up after binding her ankle, noting again the way her lips curved and the way her gaze seemed to sparkle despite it all. He knew it was a facade, a mask to hide the pain of both her limb and her heart. Volder took no notice of the strange looks his companions offered him, nor did he speak of how he found her. He hid his reasoning behind the bandit raids, that he did not want to waste his arrows on mere bandits and that had it been Urgals or men of the Empire, it would have been different.
The elves disapproved of the human woman joining them but even they were not so cruel to abandon her. She stayed with them for some time while they crossed the desert and closer to the Varden. During this time, Volder spoke to her and offered her his company. It was the least he could do, or so he told himself. The feelings he felt, the growing affections, they perplexed him to the point where he would avoid her for hours only to return as if nothing was wrong. He convinced himself that they would pass or that there was no deeper meaning. When they at last reached the Varden and concluded their meeting, the elven companions reached an almost unanimous agreement that the human woman was to be taken to Teirm. It would be Volder's responsibility to accompany her as he was her responsibility.
Again, he could not shake his feeling so easily. During their short journey to Teirm, he had nothing to busy himself with. There were no other elves to converse with and so he found his mind was drawn closer to the woman who called herself Erisa. It was time filled with conflicting emotions and while Volder did not know the extent of his feelings for the woman, he knew that he cared for her deeply and that it was mutual. He stayed in Teirm for a while, and though they both knew he was not to stay for long, 4 months later, Erisa found she was pregnant with his child. Volder, who could not bear this burden so soon, left for Ellesmera shortly after.
Both Alriina and Alaari are unaware of who their father is, only that he was an elf and that he left because he craved for his homeland.
Though one day, Alaari wishes to meet the man who had saved and then fallen for her mother. But what should she do once she had found him? Confront him and ask him why he had left them? Ask why he hadn't tried to contact them? Yell at him? She had no clue about what she would do if she found him.
Alaari's life in Teirm with her Mother Erisa and Sister Alriina was rather calm and simple, she helped her mother with some chores from time to time but was mostly hidden away reading some book she had either found in her mother's bookshelf or she had managed to get enough money to buy one. But when it came to playing with the other kids it wasn't that fun as reading a book, both her and her sister would often be bullied because of their ears and though Alaari didn't really care about what they thought about her, it seemed that her sister might have taken it a bit more seriously than her. Alaari would often play with Alriina inside the house rather often after the bullying became too much for them.
Around the age of 16 Alaari began to slowly sneak out more and more with a brown empty bag and return later at night with a couple of books in it, though she never used the front door and always moved as silently as possible up to the window then down the wall. Alaari had by now found out that because of her heritage she was quite agile and could move rather silently, so she used it as best she could, looking for open windows to slip in through then take a book or two then slip out again without making a sound. Though this didn't always work and from time to time she had to run and hide, which began to slowly increase her dislike for Dogs after having dogs sent after her a couple of times.
But she wouldn't always make it out of a house, the only time she can vividly remember was when she had just snuck through a window and approached a bookshelf when the window was closed and the lights turned on, a rather young man stood there, or at least he looked young from what she could remember. Instead of verbally attacking her he applauded her that she had been able to keep up her slight crime spree and yet she had not been caught. He offered her a spot within a group that did a lot of what Alaari had done, and some other things he hadn't mentioned. Alaari had accepted the invitation and then been allowed to leave through the window again. Through out the years she'd leave Teirm once in a while for a trip to different cities, going as far as Belatona, and when she returned she'd always look tired. During these trips she'd perform an assassination, though never mentioning it to her sister or mother.
Even with her seemingly random trips she always attempted to find time to study either the Elves or the Ancient language, but she had never had a proper trainer as she didn't find them trustworthy enough and decided to train herself in her father's language. Which worked quite well for a while until it began to become harder and harder the more she studied.
At the age of x Alaari and her sister, Alriina, decided that they wanted to try and find their father and the elves that there was so much mystery around. After some time they found an herbalist that could take care of their mother and left for Du Weldenvarden shortly after.
Anything extra:
- Despite being half-even, she does enjoy eating meat and will occasionally hunt.
