Full Name:
Alriina Frost.
Other name:
Rina / Riina
Race:
Half [Human Mother / Elven Father ]
Side:
Neutral.
Birthplace:
Teirm.
Age:
Twenty-seven (27).
Gender:
Female.
Birthday:
January 3rd.
Eyes: A mixture of light blue and hints of lavender.
Hair: Light blonde which reaches down to her waist, slightly wavy. Her bangs are parted mostly to one side which is mostly kept out of her eyes with two plain, metal clips. She usually has her tied up in a simple ponytail during hot weather or when fighting by a simple strip of leather. Otherwise it is kept down or in a loose braid.
Weight:
128lbs.
Height:
5'6"
Magic User: Because of her general disinterest in the Ancient Language, Alriina is able to perform magic to the barest minimum. Since she lacks the motivation to practice and learn from others, she finds that her abilities are borderline useless in actual combat. However, she does believe that it will be an essential skill and that one day, she will go back to it.
Preferred Weapon(s): She prefers to wield a long, thing bow that does not follow the typical arc of an average one. The tips on both sides flick downwards away from the bowstring, ending in a sharp point. The bow is otherwise straighter than most bows, though the curve in the middle is met with a small section where the arrow is to be placed.
The arrows themselves are fletched with eagle feathers while the quiver is made from tough leather. She has been known to use silver arrows when she can afford it, though she finds they are both too heavy and too expensive to be used frequently and recklessly.
She also carries a small dagger with her as a precaution in case her bow is unsuitable for the situation or when caught unawares. However, she tries her best to avoid using this as she is exceptionally unskilled with blades of any weight.
Appearance: Due to her human heritage, Alriina is considered at a below average height for a child who is also half-elven. However, her build is typically lithe and petite though she possesses considerable arm and shoulder strength. Her hair is a waist-length smooth wave, braided or worn loose. It is a muted gold with a sheen of an even brighter amber in the right light. Her eyes are a rich shade of crystal blue, flecked with lavender pigments and shaped in almost doe-like innocence. Her ears are also typically tapered though are on the shorter side than most half-elves. In all, her appearance is more human than elf and would be described as 'ragged' by the elven community, yet attractive in some way by humans. Because of this, she was considered impure to most of those living in Teirm.
She normally wears human clothes which were all cut from plain and simple cloth to avoid standing out. When traveling, she prefers to don something far lighter. These consist of an airy shirt beneath a relatively firm leather vest cut at the shoulders and pants of an equally light material which is cut at the thighs. Her boots are knee-high with no heels and made to withstand almost any sort of land formation. Due to Alriina's tendency to move around and jump, they are essential to her travel wear. Finally, she keeps a pair of fingerless gloves which reach up to her elbows for easier use of her bow. The arm portion is covered and kept in place by a firm leather casing
Alriina absolutely detests armor as she can barely move in them. As such, she prefers to attack from afar as she will be unable to take many hits to her body at all. Her major scars include one from a knife wound on her right thigh and a jagged cut down her collarbone. The rest are minor white scars and scrapes and are barely noticeable.
Personality:
There is no denying that Alriina is quick in both reflex and wit. Years of training has seen to it and it has both saved her and gotten her into more trouble than she would like. She can be relatively unpleasant when insulted. Due to her elven nature, it is unsurprising that she is rather vain. She does not care for clothing, fashion or jewellery but when scorned in appearance or otherwise, she will take it both harshly and dramatically. The only exceptions are people who are very close to her and even then it is not wise. On the other hand, there is also her ability to be sickeningly sweet when it calls for it. She prefers to throw out first impressions and how pleasant she will be towards a stranger wholly depends on her mood.
Alriina isn't the type of woman you would describe as sociable, yet it is also difficult to say the opposite. She simply refuses to partake in small talk and wasted words. A conversation will stay on topic and rarely will she be the one to initiate a deviation. This is mostly due to her temperamental personality as different days leave her in completely unpredictable moods, which leads to a preference in one topic over another.
However, she is definitely rebellious towards facts that do not fit her views and dislikes the idea of compromise as a whole. If an opinion is wrong, it's wrong, and there is really no other way to say it. Ironically enough, she tends to speak out against irrational action yet she displays the same tendencies from time to time. Despite her inflexible thoughts, she is still capable of (grudgingly) conceding a point provided irrefutable proof has been given. Fortunately, this does not seem to happen often.
In times like these, it is mostly expected that trust is a concept that has been lost on many. Alriina is no different. She places her trust in very few, select people, even going so far as to say she only ever trusts herself. However, some kind of mutual understanding can be reached if the other proves that they lack ulterior motive for the most part. However, she would much rather work independently than with others if she can help it (disregarding her sister). She finds the company of strangers relatively uncomfortable.
--->Likes:
- Archery: Alriina has tried swordplay and after cutting her hand on the pommel somehow, she has forgone the idea of blades and vastly prefers archery. She enjoys practicing her marksmanship and looks to improve herself and her craft everyday.
- Apples: She enjoys most fruits and vegetables but has a particularly soft spot for apples.
- Rain: The constant heat she was under whilst in the Hadarc Desert during one of her travels made her sick of too much sunshine.
- Dragons: Simple enough. She is fascinated by their history and anatomy but is aware of their capabilities.
- Riders: Respects them.
- Reading: What little she can, she takes pride in.
--->Dislikes:
- Heat: She tends to avoid going out into the sun if it's too hot and prefers to stay in the shade.
- Ra'zac and Lethrblaka: Both unappealing and downright dangerous makes for a mixture she would like to avoid.
- Insults: If touching upon a particularly sensitive subject such as her heritage, it will result in certain, silent contempt that can rarely be repaired.
- The Ancient language: She finds it confusing and her human upbringing has left her mostly ignorant on the matter.

Family:
Volder: Father, elf.
Erisa: Mother, human.
Alaari: Sister, half-elf.
History:
Born to a human mother and elven father, Alriina and Alaari Frost were born as twins to the world as half-elves.
The elf, Volder and the human, Erisa Frost, met by pure chance. When Volder left Ellesmera in the company of his fellow elves to meet with the Varden in a matter concerning the Empire, he stumbled upon a woman with long tresses of dark brown and eyes as sweet as honeydew. His companions were nowhere to be found but they were of little concern to the elven man who was struck by this human's unwavering gaze. He was spoken to in soft, hushed tones, that she had twisted her ankle fleeing from a bandit raid on her village. She spoke with a sense of calmness that was odd from what Volder knew of humans and he would have left her to fend for herself had it not been for her courage. Volder thought humans weak, usually content to let them die their inevitable death but not this one.
Volder simply looked at her in a way an elf may look for their reflection in a pool or lake. He saw her not as a mere human, but as a woman and she saw the simmer in her eyes and the way she hid her fear though it was plain to him. She knew what he was, by his ears, his body, his hair and simply the way he stood hidden in the trees. A triad of bandits came from the other side, looking very much like the humans he would expect, wielding blunt knives. The woman called for his assistance, that if it so pleased him it would mean very much. There was no begging, no crying and while Volder heard some desperation, he did not see this as a deciding factor. Without another thought, he raised his bow and notched an arrow.
When Volder's companions found him again, he was kneeling beside the human woman with three human men wounded and immobilized but not dead. Volder had not said a single word for he knew that his actions should have disgusted him but they did not. The woman's eyes flickered to the band of elves who kept their distance. He helped her up after binding her ankle, noting again the way her lips curved and the way her gaze seemed to sparkle despite it all. He knew it was a facade, a mask to hide the pain of both her limb and her heart. Volder took no notice of the strange looks his companions offered him, nor did he speak of how he found her. He hid his reasoning behind the bandit raids, that he did not want to waste his arrows on mere bandits and that had it been Urgals or men of the Empire, it would have been different.
The elves disapproved of the human woman joining them but even they were not so cruel to abandon her. She stayed with them for some time while they crossed the desert and closer to the Varden. During this time, Volder spoke to her and offered her his company. It was the least he could do, or so he told himself. The feelings he felt, the growing affections, they perplexed him to the point where he would avoid her for hours only to return as if nothing was wrong. He convinced himself that they would pass or that there was no deeper meaning. When they at last reached the Varden and concluded their meeting, the elven companions reached an almost unanimous agreement that the human woman was to be taken to Teirm. It would be Volder's responsibility to accompany her as he was her responsibility.
Again, he could not shake his feeling so easily. During their short journey to Teirm, he had nothing to busy himself with. There were no other elves to converse with and so he found his mind was drawn closer to the woman who called herself Erisa. It was time filled with conflicting emotions and while Volder did not know the extent of his feelings for the woman, he knew that he cared for her deeply and that it was mutual. He stayed in Teirm for a while, and though they both knew he was not to stay for long, 4 months later, Erisa found she was pregnant with his child. Volder, who could not bear this burden so soon, left for Ellesmera shortly after.
Both Alriina and Alaari are unaware of who their father is, only that he was an elf and that he left because he craved for his homeland.
Life with just a mother was not so difficult. Alriina grew up assisting in house chores and otherwise making a living from doing the odd jobs around Teirm. However, being a half-elven child amongst humans was not easy. Playtime with them consisted of being otherwise too fast or too strong for the human children to compete with which stirred within them a sort of bitterness. She was made fun of for her ears, that they were too long to be human and too stubby to be elvish. While Erisa spoke to the parents regarding this, little action was taken against it. Despite being bullied out of games and the community, Alriina decided she vastly preferred to spend time with her sister who was friendly if not a little distant at times.
It was only when she turned fifteen did Alriina start to realize just how important her heritage was and also the first time she learned of magic. By then, however, she was much more interested in training herself with a bow than in sorcery and witchcraft. Archery was her escape into a world beyond petty insults and feuds. Nevertheless, she could not deny her curiosity about the elves, their origin and everything else. She decided to research the Ancient Language, perhaps see if she could teach herself, as the connection between it, her father and the elves were too closely intertwined to ignore. During the course of a few years, she found various mentors willing to help her study the Ancient Language but she has always given up because she lacked the motivation to try.
As far as she is aware, the Empire does not know of her or her sister's existence but with her last avenue exhausted, she decided to leave Teirm with Alaari to seek out the elves and her father, leaving her mother in the care of a herbalist.
